Education Department Celebrates Teacher’s Day

Chandigarh 05th September:- Teacher’s Day was celebrated by Education Department, Chandigarh Administration at Tagore Theatre today, Parimal Rai, Adviser to the Administrator, UT, Chandigarh was the Chief Guest at the occasion. 11 teachers from various schools of Chandigarh were honoured with the State Award and six teachers were given the Commendation Certificate for their Commitment and dedication in the field of Education. National Awardees of 2015, Mrs. Seema Malhotra from GMSSS-19 and Mrs. Asatinder Kaur from GMHS-22 were also honoured on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the Adviser congratulated the teachers and motivated them to continue with the good work and inspired them to teach, demonstrate, mould and be role models for the future of the Country.
The programme commenced with the Lamp lighting Ceremony followed by Ganesh Vandana represented through Kathak dance form presented by Mrs. Amrita Bhullar. A dance recital ‘Guru Mahima’ was performed by the Principal and teachers of GMSSS-33. Also present on the occasion were Sarvjit Singh, Finance and Education Secretary, Rubinderjit Singh Brar, Director School Education read out the Teacher’s Day message from the Hon’ble President, Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.
The teachers who were honoured with State Award and Commendation Certificate Sukhraj Kaur Sandhu Lecturer from GMSSS-16, Seema Chaudhary Lecturer from GMSSS-37, Jatinder Kumra Lecturer from GMSSS-18, Punita Bawa Lecturer from GMSSS-15, Anuradha Gupta Mistress from GMSSS-28,  Renu Katoch Mistress from GMSSS-37, Amrita Bhullar Mistress from GMSSS-18, Gurjit Singh Shah Master GMSSS-32, Rajesh Siwach Master GMSSS-32, Nirmal Singh Master GMSSS-21, Samidurai Master GMS-26(BD), Seema Rani Lecturer from GMSSS-Dhanas, Nisha Mistress from GMSSS-19, Vinod Prasad Bahuguna Master  from GMSSS-35, Suman Mistress from GMSSS-19, Dheerja Sharma Mistress from GMSSS-16 and Raj Kumar JBT from Institute of Blind-26.
