20th September:- Dr. Kushaljit Singh Sodhi,
Additional Professor in the Department of Radio diagnosis was awarded the DR.
ARCOT GAJARAJ ENDOWMENT ORATION AWARD for his outstanding contribution towards
development, progress and teaching of Pediatric Radiology in India, at the
recently held 14th Annual Conference of Indian Society of Pediatric
Radiology at Kolkata. More than 200 delegates attended the annual meeting.
The title of his Oration was “Lung MRI in children; A potential game changer’.
Dr. Kushaljit Singh Sodhi highlighted
the importance of MRI as a radiation free modality in the evaluation of
pulmonary diseases in children. These children can be saved from radiation
risks involved with CT scan. Currently, this novel MR technique is being
performed in only few centers in the world and PGI Chandigarh is one of the
leading centers performing lung MRI for evaluation of lung diseases in
children. This pioneering work has been published in leading research journals.
