10th October:- As a commemoration of the world arthritis day, Rheumatology
wing of the department of Internal Medicine will be organizing a walkathon on
11th October 2016 at 6
AM. This will be flagged off at Kairon block of the Nehru hospital by Milkha
Singh the flying sikh. This was intimated by the Dr Sanjay Jain, Dr Aman Sharma
and Dr Shefali Sharma during a press conference.
Dr Sanjay Jain said that the walk would
be from Kairon Block to Sukhna Lake. The faculty, residents, various patients
groups and yoga club members are likely to participate in this event. This
event is being organized to increase awareness about the various types of
inflammatory arthritides which often get neglected and do not get the early
attention that these deserve.
Dr Aman Sharma and Dr Shefali Sharma said
that there is an enormous burden of the musculoskeltal diseases and there in an
unmet need to increase awareness amongst public at large and various health
care providers.
