Chitkara University Honours CEO Panasonic India with Chitkara University National Excellence Award 2018

Chandigarh 27th April:- Chitkara University announced the first edition of Chitkara University National Excellence Award – 2018.  The excellence award is an endeavourto acknowledge and reward the exceptional work and contribution of trailblazers from different spheres towards education and society.
In a glittering ceremony, Chitkara University conferred Manish Sharma-President and CEO Panasonic India and South Asia, Vice President Appliances Company with “Chitkara University National Excellence Award” owing to his inspirational journey as a role model in business and his exemplary contribution towards education and humanity.
D.K Tiwari (IAS)-Secretary, Expenditure (Department of Finance) & MD/ PIDB (Punjab Infrastructure Development Board) was the chief guest for the occasion. Manish Sharma humbly accepted the recognition from ouresteemed chief guest in the presence of Hon’bleChancellor-Dr. Ashok. K Chitkara, Vice-Chancellor-Dr. Madhu Chitkara and the entire Chitkara fraternity.
Throughstirring speech Manish Sharma motivated the students by sharing his experiences and also acknowledged the prominence of industry-academia. He said that academia and industry share a symbiotic relationship. Academia produces graduates who are absorbed by industry. On the other hand research work in universities are taken up by the industry and turned into products and services. Thus, there is no denial that industry looks to academia for solutions to their concerns. He is glad that Chitkara University is leading in research and providing industry-led programs to turn out their graduates whose skill-set are aligned to industry requirements.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Madhu Chitkara–Vice Chancellor, Chitkara University said that Chitkara University Excellence Awardis a humble effort to distinguish and honour the most respected leaders from a variety of industries. These leaders have not only contributed to their respective fields but have also become role models for many. Students look upto them and aspire to become like them. The excellence awardees a small token of appreciation for their creativity, commitment, experience and strong leadership.
