Microsoft Continues to Drive Digital Transformation in India:Announces Skype Lite;Signs on SBI for Microsoft Cloud

Chandigarh 22^nd February:- Microsoft today showcased its cloud and mobile technologies that are driving digital transformation across large, medium and small enterprises and across government departments in India. State Bank of India, Flipkart, Tata Motors, and government departments across the states of Andhra Pradesh, Punjab, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu are using Microsoft’s cloud and mobile technologies to empower employees, engage customers, optimize processes and transform products and services.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, spoke at the company’s Future Decoded event, and announced a new offering for mobile-first and mobile-only markets–Skype Lite. Skype Lite allows communication and collaboration over low-bandwidth networks and will bring Aadhaar integration to the app by June 2017. He further announced that India’s largest bank State Bank of India has chosen Office365 to drive communication and collaboration among its employees. He spoke of a blended learning platform that brings together Microsoft’s cloud technologies and LinkedIn’s job search capabilities. Referred to as Project Sangamit cancreate a life-long skilling platform for Indian workers. Nadella also mentioned Kaizala,a productivity app that helps organizations connect with mobile only users to get work done on simple and secure chat interface.

Satya Nadella, CEO, Microsoft said that at Microsoft, we aim to empower every Indian and every Indian organization to achieve more. With the transformative power of the cloud, we are enabling Indian start-ups, businesses of all sizes, and government agencies to build new digital capability, find new growth and seize the opportunities ahead.

Peer Educator Training Organized

Chandigarh 22^nd February:- Peer Educator training was organized  today jointly by Rashtriya Kishore Swasthya Karyakaram  under the National Health Mission Chandigarh  and Social Pediatrics Unit, Advanced Pediatrics Center. Nearly 200 children   of class 7^th and 8^th of the local  and private schools along with their school teachers attended the workshop . Rashtriya Kishore Swasthya Karyakram (RKSK) is an initiative of MoHFW to respond to the health and development needs of adolescents in holistic manner between the age group of 10-19 years. Under RKSK, Peer Educator (PE) Programme is an important community based intervention in which adolescent students from the schools are oriented and trained on the important adolescent health issues such mental health, prevention of injuries and violence (Gender Based Violence) and prevention of substance misuse. Dr Paramjyoti, nodal officer, RKSK, inaugurated the workshop by explaining the essence of peer education.

Dr Sahul Bharti, narrated various stories as well as showed some videos related to routine emergencies and first aid measures. Neil, Chairperson, Child Welfare committee also addressed various issues related to child abuse, child labor as well as child begging. He informed children about three important numbers to be   contacted in case they ever come across any emergency 100 (Police) 1098 ( Childline ) and 181 ( Childhelpline Chandigarh )

Deputy Director of the Institute of correctional administration Dr Upneet Lalli explained various rights of children whereas State Legal Officer, Rajeshwar Singh   informed children regarding free legal aid available for those who cannot afford the services. Children were also educated about the ongoing project of Health Promoting schools under Dr JS Thakur and were encouraged to assist their school health authorities for accreditation. Dr Jagdeep Kaur, explained various dental health issues to the children whereas Dr Pooja, decoded various reproductive health issues for girl’s participants. Dr Sandeep Grover delivered a motivating lecture on mental health issues and drug addiction. The issue of bullying including cyber-bullying was discussed in depth by Dr Monica Rana .

Dr Bhavneet Bharti, finally, concluded the workshop by motivating the children to continue the ongoing process of peer education. She said that this activity will be an ongoing activity in future for training the school children. These students are expected to conduct further workshops in their schools with the help of their teachers.

Cyient Partners with ANSYS to Accelerate Innovation and Proof of Concept Designs Across Industries

Akash Talwar Enters Ichhapyaari Naagin as Mayuresh

Mayuresh (Akash Talwar), a new entry in the show will be the hitch in Ichha (Priyal Gor) and Babble’s (Mishkat Verma) love story. Coming as a prospective groom for Ichha, Mayuresh plays an obsessive lover. It was love at first sight for Mayuresh when he saw Ichha, hence he reaches the pehelwan house with a marriage proposal. Ichha disagrees to marry him. Infuriated by rejection Mayuresh threatens Ichha saying he will reveal her real identity to the Pehelwans. Mayuresh’s obsessive love becomes a torture for Ichha.

Commenting on his new role, Akash Talwar said that he is really lucky to be a part of Ichhapyaari Naagin. Mayuresh who is obsessed with Ichha tries every possible way to win her. He will be a very mysterious character who knows each and every detail about Ichha and her whereabouts.

Gian Jyoti Global School organizes Bid Farewell to Class 12th Students

Chandigarh 22^nd February:- Students of class 11^th of The Gian Jyoti Global School gathered today in its campus phase-2, Mohali to bid farewell to the outgoing 12^th class. The juniors’ students bid adieu to inmates by offering them a grand gala cultural event. Ranjeet Bedi, Principal, Gian Jyoti Global School presided over the event.

The inaugural ceremony started by seeking the blessings of Goddess Saraswati and lighting of the lamp. 

Gourav Seth of class 11^th entertained the audience with his break dance, Students of 12^th class also performed Bollywood dance and Bhangra based on the theme followed by fashion show for selecting Mr.  & Ms. Gian Jyoti. Miss Umang Thakur was crowned as Ms. Gian Jyoti and Master Harsh Chaudhary was selected as Mr. Gian Jyoti.

In the end Ranjeet Bedi, Principal, Gian Jyoti Global School presented sachets, flowers and gifts to Ms. & Mr. Gian Jyoti and wish them all the best for their bright future.

जम्मू एवं कश्मीर के विद्यार्थियों ने हरियाणा राज्यपाल से की मुलाकात

Chandigarh 22^nd February:- जम्मू एवं कश्मीर के विद्यार्थियों व शिक्षकों के एक दल ने आज हरियाणा के राज्यपाल प्रो0 कप्तान सिंह सोलंकी से हरियाणा राजभवन में मुलाकात की। यह दल चण्डीगढ व आसपास के क्षेत्रों के धार्मिक, सांस्कृतिक और ऐतिहासिक स्थलों की यात्रा कर रहा है। यात्रा का आयोजन जम्मू कश्मीर अध्ययन केन्द्र और राजीव गांधी राष्ट्रीय युवा विकास संस्थान द्वारा किया गया है।
 बच्चों से बातचीत करते हुए राज्यपाल ने जब इस यात्रा के दौरान उनके अनुभवों के बारे में पूछा तो बच्चों ने इसे अपने लिए अद्भुत अवसर बताया। बच्चों के उज्ज्वल भविष्य की कामना करते हुए प्रो0 सोलंकी ने कहा कि बच्चों को राष्ट्र की एकता व अखण्डता का अनुभव कराने के लिए जम्मू कश्मीर अध्ययन केन्द्र और राजीव गांधी राष्ट्रीय युवा विकास संस्थान द्वारा इस यात्रा का आयोजन अत्यन्त सराहनीय है। उन्होंने कहा कि ऐसी प्रेरणादायी और शैक्षणिक यात्रा के दौरान बच्चों को देश के विभिन्न भागों के समृद्ध सांस्कृतिक मूल्यों और विरासत की जानकारी मिलती है। वे देश में हुए विकास से भी रूबरू होते हैं। राज्यपाल ने कहा कि ऐसी यात्राएं बच्चों को अच्छे नागरिक बनने और सकारात्मक रवैये के साथ अपने सपनों को साकार करने के लिए प्रेरित करती हैं।

Ashok Tanwar Launches Month Long Membership Drives of NSUI

Chandigarh 22^nd February:- Dr Ashok Tanwar, President Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee launched the month long membership drives of NSUI in Haryana. The drive will conclude on March 23, 2017.

Launching the drive here today in the presence of Mukesh Bhakar Incharge, NSUI Haryana, Rajiv Singla, Incharge NSUI Election Haryana other central office bearers and NSUI Haryana Leaders. Dr Ashok Tanwar exhorted to enroll maximum numbers in Haryana and for this reach out to all the higher education institutes in Haryana. He said the PCC will extend all the cooperation required for enrolment of NSUI members. He said that NSUI is breeding nursery for future leadership. Late Shri Rajiv Gandhi had visualized the importance of NSUI and stressed the importance of this organization.

 Mukesh Bhakar and Rajiv Singla explained in detail the requirements of the membership for the NSUI. Every student to enroll himself as a member of NSUI will have to provide I.D, proof of his date of birth and residence. Only the students born on after December 31, 1989 will be eligible to for enrollment. The membership can be enrolled online or offline. For online there will be no fee but for offline rupees one hundred required for eleven members. These eleven members should be from same institute and out of this one member will be active. 

They said for enrolment drive Haryana have been divided in five Zones e.g.  Kurukshetra, Hisar, Faridabad, Rohtak and Mohindergarh.  For district level 15 members for State level 21 members and for national 4 members will be elected. For separate elections purposes five hundred members are required for each districts otherwise with less numbers the district will be combined to the other district.

Not only producing the film, Neeru Bajwa is all set to don the cap of the Director and also launching her sister Rubina Bajwa in the lead role. The Producers of the movie are Ankit Vijan, Navdeep Singh, Prem Parkash Gupta, Neeru Bajwa, and Santosh Thite. Beautifully written by Jagdeep Sandhu, this film is hitting the screens on 24^th February, 2107. This romantic comedy stars Rubina Bajwa, Jassie Gill and Babbal Rai in the main lead along with Karamjeet Anmol and BN Sharma. Well-known film distributor Munish Sahni of Omjee Group has taken the charge of guiding and distributing this project worldwide.

The team of the film was in town for the promotion and shared their views on the film. The lead Actor, Jassie Gill said that the film is all about his childhood sweetheart, his love which makes him wait for quite a long time and what all he goes through all this long time.

The lead actress, Rubina Bajwa seemed very enthusiastic and positive about her maiden project. She said that first of all it’s an honor for her to work under the directions of her sister Neeru Bajwa, secondly it’s their home production and lastly, she is feeling happy to work with such renowned names in our Punjabi Industry, Jassie Gill and Babbal Rai.  She further added that it was a a very good experience for me, as she learned a lot from senior actors like BN Sharma and Karamjeet Anmol. She is very positive about her debut movie and assures that this movie will leave a mark.

The second lead, Babbal Rai, said that he is feeling too good to be associated with Neeru Bajwa’s home production and to work under the guidance of a learned actress turned producer-director, Neeru and of course his bestie, Jassie Gill.

The Producers Ankit Vijan, Navdeep Singh & Santosh Thite are quite happy to work with this project. They said that people these days do not have much time, so we focused on making a film where they can leave their worries outside the movie hall. All of them are confident to get success.

The music has been given by Jay K (Jassi Katyal), B Praak and Gurmeet Singh. Lyrics have been peened down by Veet Baljit and Jaani. Jassie Gill, Babbal Rai, Veet Baljit and Nimrat Khaira have lent their melodious voices to the songs.

PGI is organizing 8th Annual Conference of Neuroanaesthesiology and Critical Care from 24th to 26th February

Chandigarh 22^nd February:- The Department of Anaesthesia and Intensive care , PGI, Chandigarh is organizing the 18^th Annual Conference of Neuroanaesthesiology and Critical Care under the aegis of Indian Society of Neuroanaesthesia and Critical care (ISNACC) from 24th-26th February, 2017. The 26th of February will be dedicated to International Symposium on Aneurysmal Subarachnoid Haemorrhage.

Neuroscience is exponentially growing and accompanied with everyday innovations and intriguing developments. There is a strong belief that better patient care is obtained through high volume and speciality physicians and hospitals. Neuroanaesthesia per se has contributed tremendously over the years to better patient care, in terms of patient outcome. The department of Neuroanaesthesia at PGI caters to approximately 300 aneurysmal surgeries and 1600 Neurotrauma cases per year.

The Mega event of ISNACC 2017, which is highlighting the importance of Neuroanaesthesia and Neurocritical care, will be an attended by around 400 delegates and luminaries of National and International repute in the field of Neuroanaesthesia and Neurocritical Care along with faculties from different speciality and super-speciality of the Institute. Around 20 International faculties from various corners of the globe and 50 National Faculty will be sharing their skilful experiences and knowledge on various topics of Neuroanaesthesia and Neurocritical Care during the scientific proceedings of the conference.

The highlights of the plenary scientific session consists of 4 workshops and Hands-on Training sessions on Neuromonitoring, Ultrasonography in anaesthesia, Difficult airway management and Echocardiography in Neuroanaesthesia, International symposium on Aneursymal SAH, Video presentation on Neuromonitoring and techniques of recent advances, Problem based Learning and Discussions, Panel discussions, Pro-Con sessions and simulation based fluid management session.
