February:- The Annual Prize distribution function of T. S.
Central State Library, Sector-17, Chandigarh was held today. The Chief Guest
for this occasion, Jitender Yadav, Director Higher Education, Chandigarh
Administration gave away prizes to 81 students from 42 schools and colleges of
the tricity who had won prizes in various competitions held during 2016-17 in
the library.

Library welcomed the Chief Guest and presented the annual report 2016-17.
The chief guest emphasized on the importance of
Public libraries, book reading culture and said that books are the real friends
of a person. He also emphasized that Library should organize more outreach
programmes for the under privileged masses who remain deprived of library
services. He appreciated the efforts of the library for conducting a number of
programmes throughout the year and congratulated the librarian and the team for
this function.
