श्रीराम की लीलाओं से कलाकार और दर्शक दोनों धन्य हो जाते हैं: प्रो0 कप्तान सिंह सोलंकी

Chandigarh 22nd October:- कला भावनाओं को संस्कारित करती है और उससे यदि श्रीराम की लीलाओं को प्रस्तुत किया जाए तो कलाकार और दर्शक दोनों धन्य हो जाते हैं। यह बात हरियाणा के राज्यपाल प्रो0 कप्तान सिंह सोलंकी ने आज राजभवन में थियेटर आर्ट चण्डीगढ द्वारा प्रस्तुत श्री रामलीला के लाइट एंड साउंड शो के उपरांत अपने सम्बोधन में कही। राज्यपाल ने कलाकारों की प्रस्तुति की खूब सराहना की और उन्हें उत्साहित करने के लिए स्वैच्छिक कोष से दो लाख रूपये प्रदान करने की घोषणा की।
राज्यपाल प्रो0 कप्तान सिंह सोलंकी ने कहा कि थियेटर आर्ट चण्डीगढ के कलाकारों ने अत्यन्त जीवंत और प्रेरणादायी प्रस्तुति दी है। इस प्रस्तुति के लिए संस्था के निदेशक राजीव मेहता को बधाई देते हुए उन्होंने कहा कि यह संस्था पिछले 22 सालों से ट्राईसिटी में कला संस्कृति के संरक्षण और समाज सेवा के सराहनीय काम कर रही है। इसने भारतीय संस्कृति के प्रचार-प्रसार के लिए श्रीरामलीला, श्रीकृष्ण लीला और श्री बन्दा बहादुर सिंह पर लाईट एंड साउंड शो तैयार किए हैं और इसके देशभक्तिपूर्ण नुक्कड़ नाटकशहीद की वापसीको हर साल स्वतंत्रता दिवस के पावन अवसर पर दिखाया जाता है। 
थियेटर आर्ट चण्डीगढ में लम्बे समय से काम कर रहे राजभवन में गृह नियंत्रक पद पर कार्यरत्त जगन बैंस ने राज्यपाल दर्शकों का धन्यवाद किया।


Max Super Specialty Hospital organizes Free Multi-Speciality Health Camp

Mohali 22nd October:- Max Super Specialty Hospital, Mohali   organized a free multi-specialty health camp at Saanjh Kendra at phase VIII police station here today.  As many as 100 people mostly police personnel attended the health camp. A team of Max doctors including Dr Vinod Singh Sachdev from Internal Medicine, Dr Pushkin Sharma from Orthopaedics, Dr Jaspreet Kaur from Gynaecology and Dt. Shivani Gulati from Department of Dietetics provided free consultations to people during camp. The free tests like bp, blood sugar, bone mass densitometry, ECG, Spirometry & Diabetic Screening were also offered free of cost in the camp.

Governor Lays Foundation Stone of Water Supply Scheme Phase 5 & 6

Chandigarh 22nd October:- The Governor of Punjab and Administrator, UT, Chandigarh V.P. Singh Badnore, laid the foundation stone for the work of augmentation of City Water Supply scheme against phase V & VI from Kajauli water works in water works sector 39 here today in the presence of Kirron Kher, Member Parliament, Chandigarh, Surjit Singh Rakhra, Minister, Water Supply and Sanitation, Punjab and Arun Sood, Mayor of Chandigarh.
While addressing the gathering, the Governor said that this city by virtue of its design, the layout and the architecture has become world famous and made us all proud. As people and the persons responsible for upkeep, maintenance and growth of this city, we all have to make extra effort to see that Chandigarh residents including all of us are provided with the best of infrastructure.
He said that with the start of this water supply scheme phase 5 & 6, the Municipal Corporation has given best gift to the residents of Chandigarh. He said that Smart City is not only called by clean maintained roads and beautiful parks but the provision of best basic services and infrastructure to the city residents. He said that with the hard work of Punjab & Haryana Governments and MP, Mayor and officers of Chandigarh, this big day has come to the residents of city. He stressed the need to utilize the Tertiary treated water for irrigation of lawns and green areas which will further help in meeting the needs of drinking water supply. We also need to work on increasing the water level in Sukhna Lake, he added.
Speaking on the occasion, Kirron Kher, Member Parliament, UT, Chandigarh said that based upon the availability of water and present population in the city, the per capita per day consumption is 242 Ltrs. The water requirement in Chandigarh has increased substantially in the past years. Chandigarh is facing shortage of water especially during peak summers during which the total demand of water reaches upto 113 MGD approximately showing a deficit of 30 MGD. She further said that in order to bridge the gap between the supply and demand and to make city water supply 24x7 under Smart City and to reduce the dependency on tubewells, 29 MGD of raw water has been proposed to augment the water supply against phase V & VI from Kajauli Water Works.
Arun Sood, Mayor of Chandigarh said that the matter of Water Supply Scheme Phase 5 & 6 was discussed and necessary consent was sought from the Governments of Punjab & Haryana for withdrawal of 40 MGD raw water from Bhakra Main line. After obtaining the consent from Punjab and Haryana, 50% project cost amounting to Rs. 98 crores was deposited by MC to GMADA who is executing the project from Kajauli upto village Jandpur.
He said that the further work of pumping 35 MGD raw water (after giving 5 MGD share to Punjab) from Jandpur up to water works, Sector 39 is to be executed by the Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh. The land measuring 2 acres at Jandpur has already been acquired by GMADA and given to MCC at the cost of Rs. 3 crore.
He further said that the work of laying, testing and commissioning of M.S. Rising main from Jandpur to Water works, Sector 39, Chandigarh has been allotted amounting to Rs. 21,45,59,004. This work will take a time period of approximately 9 months to complete, he added. The Mayor thanked the Chief Ministers of Punjab & Haryana for taking care of Chandigarh.

अदभुत कला और रंगों से ओत-प्रोत दो दिवसीय प्रदर्शनी "वाइब्रेंट डिवोशन"का पंजाब कला भवन में आयोजन

Chandigarh 22nd October:- पंजाब की पेंटिंग कलाकार सरोज नियोल द्वारा चंडीगढ़ स्थित पंजाब कला भवन में वाइब्रेंट डिवोशन पेंटिंग प्रदर्शनी का आयोजन किया गया | यह प्रदर्शनी 22 और 23 अक्टूबर को दर्शकों के लिए खुली रहेगी | प्रदर्शनी का उद्घाटन अतिरिक्त जिला व् सेशन जज महावीर अहलावत ने किया |
सरोज नियोल के अनुसार प्रदर्शनी में इस बार 42 पेंटिंग्स प्रदर्शित की गयी। सरोज द्वारा बनाई गयी पेंटिंग्स विषय और प्रकर्ति की छठा की विविधता से भरपूर होती हैं | उनके द्वारा प्रदर्शित जीवंत भक्ति के रूप में एक सौंदर्य अंतर्दृष्टि.' शीर्षक है |उनकी तस्वीरों और चित्रों में महिलाओं को सशक्त बनाने पर ध्यान केंद्रित है | उन्होंने बताया की वे महान कलाकार एम्.एफ हुसैन' द्वारा प्रेरित हैं इसलिए उनके चित्रों में से एक उसके द्वारा श्री हुसैन के लिए एक श्रद्धांजलि के रूप में किया महान काम करता है, की सत्य प्रतिलिपि है। कला और एम्.एफ हुसैन समानार्थक शब्द हैं। उनका कहना है की वे यह प्रदर्शनी हुसैन जैसे व्यक्ति को समर्पित करना चाहती हैं |
सरोज नियोल पंजाब की निवासी हैं और सिरसा, हरियाणा के एक छोटे से गाँव से अपनी यात्रा शुरू की उन्होंने अपनी स्कूली शिक्षा जिंदल स्कूल हिसार से प्राप्त की |उन्होंने 11 वीं और 12 वीं कक्षा में पेंट ब्रश के साथ अपनी कल्पना शीट पर उतारने के लिए चुना है, हालांकि पेंटिंग उनके दिल के कोने में हमेशा से था। उन्होंने स्नातक डिग्री एमसीएम कॉलेज से प्राप्त की। इसके बाद उनकी शादीशुदा जिंदगी दो बच्चों के साथ अच्छे से चल रही थी | स्कूल के बाद अब 20 वर्षों के बाद, वे फिर से अपनी भावनाएँ पेंट ब्रश के साथ उतारने के लिए प्रोत्साहित हैं | उनका कहना है कि अगर मेरे चित्रों द्वारा दर्शको को संबोधित किया जा सकेगा तो उनका प्रोत्साहन प्रेरणा में तब्दील हो जाएगा।
उन्होंने बताया कि वे एक साधारण घर की स्त्री हैं और उम्मीद करती है कि उनके द्वारा प्रदर्शित तक़रीबन 42 तस्वीरें दर्शकों को जरूर मोहित कर सकेंगी | विषय और प्रकृति उनके द्वारा बनाई गयी तस्वीरों में विविधता है। प्रदर्शनी में तस्वीरों की एक बड़ी रेंज दर्शकों को देखने को मिलेगी जिसमें चित्र और वन्यजीव के अलावा धर्म में अपने आपको को अमूर्त कला के माध्यम से प्रदर्शित करना है | उनकी प्रदर्शनी का उद्देश्य विभिन्न माध्यमों के माध्यम से भावनाओं की विविधता है, कृष्ण यशोधा में माँ और बेटे का प्यार दर्शाया गया है | उनकी पेंटिंग्स तेल पेंट से निर्मित हैं |


Indian Pharmacological Society organizes Marathon to Prevent Disease

Chandigarh 22nd October:- The 49th annual conference of the Indian Pharmacological Society (IPS-CON) for the year 2016 is being organized by the Post-Graduate Institute for Medical Education and Research (PGI), Chandigarh under the chairmanship of Professor Y K Gupta, Head of the Department of Pharmacology, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi and the organizing leadership of Professor Bikash Medhi, Professor, Department of Pharmacology, PGI, Chandigarh and Professor S S Sharma, Professor, National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Mohali. The conference is an annual congregation of renowned pharmacologists and pharmacology students with the purpose of sharing of knowledge and information. 
it is not only important for a doctor to treat a disease but also to prevent it by promoting health and well-being. In view of this, a marathon was organized by the Post-Graduate Institute for Medical Education and Research (PGI), Chandigarh as a part of the 49th annual conference of the Indian Pharmacological Society (IPS-CON) for the year 2016 in the wee hours of Saturday,  22nd of October 2016. 
The marathon turned out to be a huge success as eminent scientists from all over the country such as Prof. Y. K. Gupta, Head of the Department of Pharmacology, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, who is also the chairman of the conference; Professor Bikash Medhi, Professor, Department of Pharmacology, PGI, Chandigarh, who is also the organizing secretary of the conference; and others participated in the marathon, besides numerous young scientists. The run was organized from Bhargava Auditorium, PGI, Chandigarh to Sukna lake and was flagged at 6.15 a.m. by Dinesh Mongia, former India cricketer who graced the occasion as the guest of honor. 
Prof Bikash Medhi appealed to the attendees to maintain this trend of getting up early in the morning and indulging in physical activity every day so as to promote general and health well-being which prevent diseases in the long run.
