श्री गुरू नानक देव जी के सिंद्धातों पर काम करता है इंडियन फेडरेशन ऑफ यूनाइटेड नेशन एसोसिएशन: डा. एचएस रनोटा

Chandigarh 18th Feb, 2019:- यूनाइटेड नेशन जो काम विश्व शांति के लिए कर रहा है वो काम यूएन श्री गुरू नानक देव जी के सिंद्धातों पर चल कर रहा है। यह कहना है। इंडियन फेडरेशन ऑफ यूनाइटेड नेशन एसोसिएशन के वाइस चेयरमैन डा हरचरण सिंह रनोटा का
डा हरचरण सिंह रनोटा अपने यह विचार सोमवार को सेक्टर-27 में श्री गुरू नानक देव जी के 550 साल की वर्षगांठ समारोह की घोषणा करते हुए कहे। यह समारोह 3 नंवबर से 9 नंवबर तक चंडीगढ में आयोजित किया जाएगा।
उन्होंने बताया कि चाहे यह समारोह नंवबर में होना है, लेकिन इस समारोह से पहले संस्था द्वारा हर महीने एक कार्यक्रम करवाया जाएगा। जिसके जरिए लोगों में श्री गुरू नानक देव जी की शिक्षा को पहुंचाया जाएगा। इस क्रम में सबसे पहले संस्था द्वारा देश भर में आध्यपकों और समाजसेवियों को संस्था की ओर से सम्मानित किया जाएगा। इसके लिए संस्था ने एक टीम को सूची तैयार करने की जिम्मेदारी सौंप दी है।
उन्होंने बताया कि विश्व भर साढे पांच लाख पौधारोपण करेगें उन्होंने बताया कि श्री गुरू नानक देव जी के 550 जन्मदिवस के उपलक्ष्य में संस्था द्वारा साढ़े पांच लाख पौधें लगाए जाएगें। इन पौधों की देखरेख भी संस्था ही करेगी। इसमें से दो लाख पौधे अकेले अफ्रिका में लगाए जाएगें। इसके अलावा भारत में हर शहर में भी इस तरह ही पौधारोपण करवाया जाएगा। इन पौधारोपण से जहां वातावरण शुद्ध होगा। वहीं श्री गुरु नानक देव की सभी को प्यार बांटने शिक्षा भी लोगों तक पहुंचाई जाएगी। प्रधानमंत्री के साथ अन्य देशों के प्रतिनिधि भी होगें शामिल उन्होंने कहा कि श्री गुरु नानक देव जी केवल सिख के ही गुरु नही है। बलकि श्री गुरु नानक देव जी को हिन्दु, मुस्लिम, इसाई और पारसी भी अपना गुरु मनाते है। इसलिए हमारी कोशिश रहेगी कि 9 नवंबर में होने वाले समारोह में देश के प्रधानमंत्री , सभी राज्य के मुख्यमंत्री , बंगलादेश , श्रीलंका , अफगानिस्तान, कनाड़ा , यूनाइटेंड किंगडम और नेपाल से भी उनके प्रधानमंत्री को आने का आमत्रंण दिया है। इस समारोह में लगभग 35 हजार लोगों के सिटिंग का अरेंजमेंट किया जाएगा। जोकि अपने आप में विश्व रिकार्ड होगा।
शहीदों के परिवार को संस्था देगी मदद:-उन्होंने कहा कि 14 फरवरी को सीआरपीएफ के शहीदों को नमन करते है और संस्था उनके परिवारों हर प्रकार की मदद देना के लिए तत्पर है और जल्द ही सभी शहीदों के परिवार से मिल उन्हें मदद भी पहुंचाएगे। इसके अलावा 14 फरवरी को हर साल इस शहीदों को श्रद्धाजंलि देने के लिए सर्व धर्म प्रर्थाना का आयोजन किया जाएगा। जिसमें सभी धर्मों के मुख्य को अमांत्रित किया जाएगा

12-Day Stone Sculpture Workshop Concludes

Chandigarh 18th Feb, 2019:- The closing ceremony of the “Stone Sculpture Workshop” was organized today by the Chandigarh Lalit Kala Akademi for the Tricity Sculptors with Guest Artists at the Museum Outreach Activity Centre, sector 10, Leisure Valley, Chandigarh. The chief guest during the ceremony was Manoj Parida, Adviser to the Administrator, U.T Chandigarh, Arun Kumar Gupta, Principal Secretary Home, Chandigarh Administration was the guest of honour and Adwaita Gadanayak, Director General, National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi was the special guest during the ceremony.
Welcoming the chief guest, Bheem Malhotra, Chairman, Chandigarh Lalit Kala Akademy said that this kind of workshop was first organized in the city beautiful in the year 2012 and now after a gap of seven years it has again been organized for the national sculpture artists. The workshop is a step towards creating an art enriched environment in the city that provides sculptors, art lovers, art students, and city residents a platform to converse about the great Indian medium of art of sculpting.
Congratulating the participating sculptors during the ceremony, Manoj Parida shared that the sculptors have shown exemplary skills in carving out immortal art. The finished rock sculptures would be placed at significant spots in the city wherein the public can adore the skill and vision of these talented sculptors. Their sculptures will continue to be a source of remembrance of these artists, for generations to come. The Adviser further assured that such workshops would be organized annually going forward so that more artists can come forward with their designs and carves.
The workshop concluded with an award conferring ceremony by the chief guest to the guest artist and all sculptors who crafted these blocks of stone into works of art in a short span of 12 days.
Among the guest artists who graced the workshop with their profound art was renowned sculptor from Kerala, Valsan Koorma Kolleri, who studied at the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts, Paris (1985–86), the Faculty of Fine Art, Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda (1976–79) and the Government College of Fine Arts, Chennai (1971–76). The other guest artist is an alumnus of the Delhi College of Art, Nivedita Mishra. An internationally acclaimed artist, Nivedita has won awards like Odisha Lalit Kala Academy -1988, International Award Scottish International Sculpture Award-1996, etc.
Sculptors from the tricity who were a part of the workshop were Vishal Bhatnagar, Sanjeev Kumar, Nitin Dutt, Hirday Kaushal, Gurmeet Goldie, Rajender Kumar, Parminder Singh, Harpal Shekhupuria, Ramandeep Singh, Parvesh Kumar, Narinderjeet Singh and Pardeep Kumar. 




International Regional Programme on Entrepreneurship in Technical and Vocational Education and Training Begins at NITTTR

Chandigarh 18th Feb, 2019:- A one week International Regional Programme on Entrepreneurship in Technical and Vocational Education and Training was inaugurated today by Manoj Parida, Adviser to the Administrator, U.T Chandigarh at NITTTR, Sector 26, Chandigarh. The programme is being conducted jointly by Colombo Plan Staff College, Manila, Philippines and National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR), Chandigarh from 18-22 February 2019. A total of 20 International Delegates from 10 Countries of Asia and Pacific Region are participating in the Programme.
In his inaugural address, Manoj Parida gave his views on how the other countries despite of their small size were able to emerge as leaders globally and emphasized on the importance of Entrepreneurship and Intellectual Property Rights. He also expressed his happiness on the fact that this important aspect is being covered during this training programme.
Dr. Ramhari Lamichhane, Director General, CPSC, Manila was the Guest of Honour on the occasion. Dr. Ramhari expressed his gratitude towards the support extended by Government of India for their support and encouragement in furthering the realization of the mission of the Colombo Plan Staff College, Manila, Philippines. He also emphasized on the need to work towards sustainable development initiatives and shared an overview of the gamut of programmes and activities conducted by CPSC regionally and internationally. He also expressed that each time he visits NITTTR, Chandigarh he sees a demonstratable improvement in its operations over varied dimensions.
Prof. R.K. Sinha, Director, CSIO; Dr. Surinder Singh, Director, SCL, Mohali; Prof. S.K. Jain, Director, SLIET, Longowal were among other eminent personalities who graced the occasion.
All the Guests and delegates were welcomed by Prof. S.S. Pattnaik, Director, NITTTR, Chandigarh, who briefed all present about the programmes and activities of NITTTR, Chandigarh, and the programme is being coordinated by Prof. S.K Dhameja, Dean, Academics and International Affairs, NITTTR, Chandigarh.



PGI organizes Workshop on Monitoring of Behavior Change Strategies for Tobacco Cessation

Chandigarh 18th Feb, 2019:- Department of Community Medicine & School of Public Health PGIMER, Chandigarh hosted a workshop on Hands on demonstration for establishing validity of laboratory based monitoring of behavior change strategies for tobacco cessation at Research Block-B, PGIMER, Chandigarh. The workshop was sponsored by Medical Council of India (MCI). The aim of this workshop was to provide knowledge and hand on training on various methods for validation of outcomes for tobacco cessation, thereby equip them in utilizing the gained knowledge effectively in various public health and hospital settings. This workshop also amount to empower the participants to write research proposals on biochemical assessments. There were more than 60 participants: Faculty, SRs, JRs, researchers, Msc. students, nurses from various colleges and hospitals of Chandigarh.
Dr.Sonu Goel, Addl. Prof. Community Medicine & School of Public Health gave the overview of the programme. Dr. Arvind Rajwanshi, Dean (Research), PGIMER, Chandigarh and Dr. Amarjeet Singh,Prof. Dept. of Community Medicine & School of Public Health, PGIMER, Chandigarh gave the inaugural address on the rising burden of Tobacco and importance of laboratory monitoring of outcomes from various approaches for tobacco cessation.
Prof. D. Basu, Professor, Dept. of Psychiatry, PGIMER, Chandigarh highlighted the behavioral & pharmacological approaches for tobacco cessation.
Panel discussion was conducted in which Dr. Roshan Verma, Professor, Dept. of ENT, PGIMER Chandigarh, Dr. Sonu Goel, Addl. Professor, Dept. of Community Medicine & School of Public Health and Dr. Arpit, Dept. of  Oral Health and Science discussed on the counselling needs for tobacco cessation in tertiary care settings.
Prof. Anuradha Chakraborti, HOD, Dept. of Experimental Medicine and Biotechnology, PGIMER, Chandigarh emphasized on importance of laboratory based monitoring in Public Health Research.
Prof. Bikash Medhi, Dept. of Pharmacology, PGIMER, Chandigarh emphasized on methods and biomarkers used for Nicotine assessment
Dr. Ajay Prakash, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Pharmacology, PGIMER, Chandigarh presented on  quantification of drugs through HPLC with hands on demonstration in Central Sophisticated Instrumental Cell of PGIMER, Chandigarh
