Vedanta Empowers Youth through Skill Development Programmes

Chandigarh 12th August:- Vedanta, India’s leading diversified natural resources company is aligned with the UN’s International Youth Day 2016 Theme: The Road to 2030: Eradicating Poverty and Achieving Sustainable Consumption and Production. Vedanta provided over 5,800 youth with vocational skills training while over 2,900 youth were linked to earning opportunities in FY 2015-16 and 375 youth were engaged under micro enterprise development in India & Africa. The company enacts the vision of Chairman, Mr. Anil Agarwal to ensuring poverty eradication through a strong focus on skilling the youth and providing employment.

Vedanta’s Lanjigarh operations launched the Yuva Pragati Kendra (YPK), based on a very unique model encompassing counseling, coaching and training the rural youth for government and non-government jobs, competitive exams and interviews. The objective of the YPK is to ensure 100% employability to the rural youth through skill enhancement. Debate on Interdependence in International Relations Held at MCM

Chandigarh 12th August:- The department of Political Science at MCM DAV College for Women organized a Debate Competition here today. Speaking on the topic- 'Today all modern states are independent to be interdependent', over participants convincingly put forth their views on the increasing interdependence among nations due to globalization and the resultant benefits and pitfalls. Janvi of B.A.-III stood 1st in the competition while Arshkiran of BA-I 2nd came and Pragrati B.A.-II was adjudged 3rd.
Principal of the college Dr.Nisha Bhargava was all praises for the debating acumen of the participants.  Stressing on the fact that the increased interdependence between states reduces the chance of them engaging in conflict, she added that such versatile activities at MCM help in creating informed global citizens.

Nirmal Chand, Regional Director, Reserve Bank of India, Chandigarh in his key note address informed that since launch of Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) on 28th August, 2014, banks have opened 5254304 accounts up to 30 June, 2016 and garnered an amount of Rs.1287 crore under this scheme.  Out of total 2385643 accounts of women have been opened which is 46% of the total accounts opened and Rupay Cards have been issued in 4419849 accounts which is 84% of the total accounts opened.  Nirmal Chand called upon all the bankers to continue opening of accounts under PMJDY till the coverage of last un-banked person and issue Rupay Cards in all accounts.
While informing the house about the progress made by banks in recently launched 3 Social Security Schemes namely Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) for accidental death insurance, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) for life insurance cover and Atal Pension Yojana (APY) for old age pension, Nirmal Chand informed that under PMSBY the banks have enrolled 2452091 persons, under PMJJBY enrolled 801234 persons and  in Atal Pension Yojana (APY) enrolled 68361 persons upto 30 June, 2016.  He called upon the bankers and the officials from respective insurance companies to accelerate their efforts to extend the benefits of the scheme to a large number of masses in the State.
While speaking on Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana, Nirmal Chand said that Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana was launched to”fund the un-funded” by bringing such enterprises to the formal financial system and to extend affordable credit to them.  So far, the offering of MUDRA mainly consist of non-farm enterprises in manufacturing, trading and services whose credit needs are below 10 lakh.  He informed that under MUDRA loans as on         30 June, 2016 the banking system in Haryana has disbursed an amount of Rs.378.62 crore against Annual Target of Rs. 3015.98 crore and achieved 12% of annual budget in the Financial Year 2016-17 in all three categories of MUDRA i.e. Shishu loans, Kishore loans and Tarun loans.  He expressed hope that during current financial year, banks in Haryana will surpass the allocated target under MUDRA.
Nirmal Chand, Regional Director, RBI, Chandigarh informed that 21RSETIs (Rural Self Employment Training Institutes)/RUDSETIs are functioning in the state. As at June, 2016, 75557 trainees including 40415 women, 26594 SC/ST persons & 444 handicapped persons participated in 2671 training programmes of Skill Development at these RSETIs. 11002 trainees were financed by the banks to start their enterprises. 
While speaking on Financial Literacy, Nirmal Chand said that Financial Literacy Programme has an important role to play in Financial Inclusion and Financial Empowerment of people by creating awareness about the services and facilities being extended by banks.  122 Financial Literacy Centre run by Banks are providing Financial Education to the public in the State of Haryana.



Atlético de Kolkata Signs Hélder Postiga its Marquee Player

Chandigarh 12th August:- In their quest for the title in the third season, the title winner of the inaugural season of the Indian Super League and the semi-finalist of the second edition, Atlético de Kolkata announced today that the marquee player for the forthcoming season would be the iconic Portuguese striker Hélder Postiga. A Portuguese international footballer since 2003, Postiga represented his country in two World Cups and three European Championships, helping the nation reach the final at Euro 2004. Growth Momentum Continues in Q1 FY17:Consolidated Sales Grew by 44% YoY to Rs.767 Cr

Chandigarh 12th August:-Minda Industries posted robust results for Q1 FY17, maintaining its growth momentum. The consolidated revenue stood at Rs.767Cr for Q1 FY17 as against Rs.533 Cr in Q1 FY16 recording a growth of 44%YOY.
The company reported EBITDA of Rs.72Cr, a growth of 112% year on year. EBITDA margin has expanded by 303basis points to 9.4% for Q1 FY17. PBT (Before Exceptional item) for the consolidated entity grew to Rs.34 Cr for Q1 FY17 as against Rs. 16 Cr for Q1 FY16, growth of 113% year on year.
Profit after Tax and Minority Interest increased by 99% year on year from Rs. 27 Cr in Q1 FY17to Rs. 14 Cr in Q1 FY16. PAT after MI margin at 3.5% in Q1 FY17 from 2.6% in Q1 FY16, an expansion of 97basis points during the year.
EPS for the company is at Rs. 17.09 per share during Q1 FY17 as compared to Rs.8.60 per share in Q1 FY16.
As part of group realignment, MIL board has approved acquisition of 49% equity shares in Roki Minda Co.Pvt. Ltd. for a consideration of 42.50 Cr. The shares have been purchased at 10.50 per share, having a face value of Rs 10 each. Roki Minda will be consolidated with MIL with effect from October 1, 2016. Roki Minda is a leading manufacturer of air filtration system & Canisters for 2W/4 W. The company had a turnover of ~215 Cr with a PAT of 6 Cr in FY 2015-16.
This company was incorporated in 2012 as a joint venture with Roki Co. Ltd, Japan which holds 51% equity shares.

Chandigarh 12th August:- सी टी यू वर्कर यूनियन की और से डायरेक्टर ट्रांसपोर्ट के ऑफिस में अपनी मांगों को लेकर विशाल गेट रैली की गई। यूनियन के प्रवक्ता व् प्रधान भूपिंदर सिंह, उप प्रधान जोगिन्दर सिंह, महा सचिव सतिंदर सिंह, वित्त सचिव जतिंदर पाल सिंह व् पार्टी प्रधान रणजीत सिंह हंस ने रैली को संबोधन करते हुए सी टी यू  के वर्कर यूनियन की तिथि 27.7.2016 को सैकटरी ट्रांसपोर्ट यू टी व् डायरेक्टर ट्रांसपॉर्ट के साथ हुई मीटिंग के बारे में जानकारी दी
सभी वक्ताओं ने चंडीगढ़ प्रशासन द्वारा सी टी यू के लिये 200 नई बसें लॉन्ग रुट के लिये खरीदने के प्रस्ताव को मंजूरी देने पर चंडीगढ़ प्रशासन  का धन्यवाद किया अब सी टी यू के फलीट में 40 लग्ज़री बसें 120 HVAC  व् 40 साधारण बसें जल्दी ही शामिल होने जा रही है लग्ज़री बसों के शामिल होने से और सी टी यू का अपना 417 बसों का फलीट भी पूरा हो जाएगा वर्कशाप के लिये जूनियर टेक्निशन की भर्ती की फ़ाइल भी क्लीयर हो गई है। वर्कशाप में यह पोस्टें भर्ती होंने के बाद आने वाले समय में सी टी यू की बसों की रिपेयर भी सही ढंग से हो पायेगी। सी टी यू में 127 ड्राइवर, 109 कंडक्टरों और 31क्लर्कों की भर्ती की प्रक्रिया चल रही है सी टी यू में सरकारी कर्मचारियों के लिए प्रति वर्ष विशेष 50 सरकारी मकान बनवाने के लिए चंडीगढ़ प्रशासन ने मंजूरी दे दी है और इस वर्ष के 50 मकान बनाने का बजट भी जारी हो  चुका है। इन मकानों को बनाने को बनाने के लिए जगह की तलाश प्रसाशन द्वारा की जा रही है। यूनियन ने मांग की कि 49 नई बसों में कंडक्टर सीट का प्रबंध किया जाए
