U.T. Powermen Union Oppose orders of Mass Transfers of Electricity Employees

By Tricitynews Correspondent
Chandigarh 18th March:- The U.T. Powermen Union Chandigarh today i.e. on dated 18th March 2017 strongly condemned and criticized the authorities of electricity department for playing with the life of electricity employees by issuing of  continuous pick & choose mass transfers of electricity employees particularly field staff i.e.  Junior Engineer Linemen, Assistant- Linemen & Sub station attendants when peak summer season has starts. It is pertinent to mentioned here that the authorities particularly SE electricity has issued field staff i.e. linemen Assistant Linemen, Substation Attendants, Junior Engineer as well as UDC meter readers including peons since November, 2016. The mass transfer orders has been issued by the SE has implemented but while doing these unfair transfers work of the department has been effected badly as it take at least 3-4 month to field staff to understand the new system i.e. line, substation as the as number of double supply and ring men are there, the over head & underground cables are too old & damaged and there is huge chances of accident in every moment. The transfer orders have been issued without framing any fair and transparent transfer policy and have been issued on pick & choose basis with malafide intension. The work has not yet been normalized comes still not reached on stream line as the Chain of JE: LM’s, ALMs & SSA have been transferred in these 4–5 months. It is strange and objectionable that the action of the department has cripple the power system so that public may blame the department for its failure to provide uninterrupted power supply to the valuable consumers. When the system has not yet been normalized and the already transferred staff has not well equipped and aware about the new system the SE Electricity again issued the transfer orders of 34 line men and put them under tense and risk. It has further pointed out that on one side the transfer order have been issued to those who have even not complete 3 years on the other some of the employees in SE electrify office have not been transfer who are sitting for more than 5 years including SE electricity thus where is justice.
Union president- Satpal, General Secretary Gopal Datt Joshi, Vijay Singh, Dhian Singh and Amrik Singh while criticized the transfer order of Linemen issued by SE electricity blamed that these transfer  have been issued with ulterior motive which will put the workmen under tension as there is a chance of accident due to issuance of mass transfers when maintenance scheduled in going on and peak summer has been starts and demanded to cancel the transfers so as to save the valuable lives of the employees well as in the larger public interest. Union warned that if of the transfers will not be cancelled then union will lodge strong protest against the authorities and further warned that in case any misshaping will be happened the officer concern will fully responsible for the wrong and entire untimed transfers  orders.
