Dr Sarabjeet Singh Invited by Prestigious Belgium Orthodontic Society

Chandigarh 28th July:- Dr Sarabjeet Singh a Speaker of acclaim in the field of orthodontics has been invited by the Prestigious Belgium orthodontic society to deliver a Guest lecture on Speedo Orthodontics on 27th July,2018 .He is also the scientific co-chairperson of the prestigious conference in Belgium.
The gathering comprised of eminent orthodontists and post graduates of Belgium. The lecture was presided by Dr .Mila Gregor,President of Belgium Orthodontic Society and Dr Shailesh Deshmukh, President of Indian Orthodontic society.
Dr Sarabjeet laid strong emphasis on the fast and rapidly changing scenario in the field of orthodontics. He appriased the gathering about the newer and more advanced procedures in Orthodontics. He also highlighted the fact that with the advent of time shortened conservative interventions which are now available today for treating malocclusions namely lasers and self ligations and medications have the potential to immensely benefit the patients for whom oral hygiene and shorter treatment time is a top priority.
He said that Speedo Orthodontics is changing the way orthodontics is and will be percieved in the future.
Dr Sarabjeet Singh has been delivering lectures on Speedo Orthodontics across the world and has been spreading it's knowledge and know how amongst the postgraduates for its implementation so as to enable the public to avail the benefit of the newer treatment modalities.
Dr Navreet Sandhu also emphasised on the use of dental microimplants in Orthodontics.


TCWA organizes Its 177th Voluntary Blood Donation Camp

Chandigarh 28th July:- Thalassaemic Children Welfare Association (Regd.) PGIMER-GMCH Chandigarh organized its 177th Voluntary Blood Donation Camp in PGI Chandigarh. It is this Association’s eighth Blood Donation Camp in this series of Blood Donation Camps organized during summer month, when acute shortage of blood is faced by Blood Bank of PGI, owing to non-availability of enough donors due to exams-vacations in school/colleges.
This Camp was inaugurated by Gopal K Wadhwa, Chairman, Jullundur Hotel-22 & Hotel JH EI8GHTEEN, Chandigarh. He is a well known Philanthropist and Hotelier of city beautiful Chandigarh, who has not only been providing financial and moral support to our Charitable NGO for decades, but also participating alongwith family members, relatives and Hotel Staff for donating blood in our Camps. During this camp, Chief Guest Gopal K Wadhwa and his family also donated blood. May God Bless whole family a good health long lives and prosperity.
In this Camp 278 voluntary blood donors donated blood for Blood Bank of PGI Chandigarh. While honouring the blood donors by handing over mementoes to them, he applauded them for participating in this noble cause of blood donation and also for promoting Blood Donation Movement in the country. In the above mentioned 8 Blood Donation Camps organized by the Association an aggregate of 1897numbers of voluntary blood donors donated blood.


Author Chatura Rao Unveils A Unique Programme for Writer Students of Dikshant "Launching Young Writers"

Chandigarh 28th July:- Dikshant School has announced a unique initiative to give a fillip to its students, who are interested in writing & illustration by helping them publish their works. The curator of the programme is Chatura Rao, an award-winning journalist and an author who writes for both children and adults. Chairman of Dikshant School Mitul Dikshit and Chatura Rao, unveiled the unique project -- ‘Launching Young Writers’.
Mitul Dikshit said that the programme is aimed at getting the work of students published in the form of a book- 'Young Voices , 2018-Poems & Stories by students of Dikshant School'. The same allows students to get trained by some of the most renowned writers who specialize in different genres of writing through creative writing workshops. The project covers 11 creative writing workshops in different genres of writing spread over the year.
He added that the selection procedure of the students for a particular workshop is based on predefined criteria and the interest of the student in a particular genre. The selected students get trained on developing their craft during the two-day workshop led by these authors. They are then given one week of time to fine-tune their work and submit their writing/illustration to the authors. The writers give direct feedback to students for their work. The best of work will get selected for a collaborative book which will be edited by Chatura Rao, who is also the festival director of Chandigarh Children’s Literature Festival organized by Dikshant School every year in Association with Adab Foundation.
Chatura Rao, the curator of the ‘launching young writers’ program added that impressed by the active participation of students of Dikshant at various editions of Chandigarh Children’s Literature Festival which she curated, She realized that students are now ready for the next stage of their literary journey, which is getting published. The programme is designed with an aim of giving students a unique experience which will give them a lifelong learning, confidence and direction.
The authors who will engage students are Samina Mishra (Poetry), Lavanya Karthik (Adventure Stories), Adithi Rao (Scary stories), Devika Rangachari (Historical Fiction), Srivi kalian(Nature and conservation), Ranjit Lal (Animal Stories), Chatura Rao(Journalism), Nandhika Nambi (Teenage stories), Lovleen Mishra (Hindi poetry & fiction) and Tanvi Bhatt (illustration).
While sums up the press meet Mitul Dikshit, Chairman Dikshant School said that at Dikshant we have always believed that creating a reading culture at school is important to promote reading as a lifestyle. Our intent and ambition for this programme is more than getting a book published. It’s about creating something that sets the culture of a school and preserves the magic of school years that is proudly passed through generations.

"Global Fashion Era":Fashion Lifestyle & Home Decor Exhibition Starts at Kisan Bhawan

There are 4 stalls from Thailand  and these are becoming an attraction point at the Exhibition. The Exhibitors from Thailand are showcasing the famous Thai Fashion accessories, leather purses, Western dresses and authentic Thai jewellery among others. Planning Gurus has been able to rope in Thai SMEs Exporter Association and the same is being represented by Anong, General Secretary, Thai SMEs Exporter Association.
Anong, General Secretary, Thai SMEs Exporter Association said that the Exhibition is providing us a big opportunity to expose our designers, manufacturers & traders to the Indian market. We have chosen Chandigarh as this region of Tricity & Punjab has a lot of expendable income and people here have a taste for newer and different products. They like to experiment too.
Aman Walia, Director, Planning Gurus, said that it is a matter of pride for us that we have been able to collaborate with Thai SMEs Exporter Association which earlier had a tie up for exhibitions with Confederation of Indian Industry(CII). She added further that we will be bringing a major Thai Showcase named 'Namaste Thailand' from August 15-19, 2018  at Himachal Bhawan. The same will be a treasure trove for those looking to shop for authentic Thai products. Designer Supriti is here with a range of Phulkari products & is reviving the interest of people in Punjab's famous Phulkari art. 'Trashleeen' has a variety of beautiful designer  garments  for women, Bridal Couture is well represented by a young fashion designer Karishma who owns the label 'Rani Sahiba by Kims'. 'Padma Fabrics' is here from Delhi, 'Nazrana' is displaying awe inspiring Chikan work based dresses. 'Nazaakat Suits' from Delhi is also here. Anjali from 'AK Fashions' is also showcasing. Then there is 'Mrignaini' and 'Ru B Ru' too, 'Kriti Creations' from Panipat has put up a stall.
It is not just designer wear available at Global Era. 'HNA Jewellery' from Ludhiana, P S Jewels which deals in Silver jewellery, has come from Delhi, another Silver Jewellery stall 'Silver Point' has been put up.
Interiors & home furnishing needs are well taken care of by Redaux and Me & You. A very innovative stall has been put up by Tanvi Ahuja - 'Home Alankar'. Here beautiful Lamps with mosaic & bead work are on display. Turkish designer lamps are also there. Gotta Jewellery is showcased here along-with Afghani Jewellery. As far as handlooms are concerned the label 'Survi'   is available.
