Microsoft Offers Windows 10 Parental Controls that Help Children Stay Safe Online

Chandigarh 19th June:- Summer holidays are here and with the soaring temperatures kids tend to spend a lot more time indoors, and on the internet. While the cyber world has a lot of positive activities and avenues for learning, it comes with its own risks, especially for children. According to the recent Microsoft Digital Civility Index, teens reported much higher and frequent online risks than adults. The report also found that parents can have the greatest impact on the digital safety of their kids, with a large number of teens placing their faith and trust in parents to keep them safe.
According to Dr. Jyoti Kapoor Madan, a Senior Psychiatrist, parents need to be more attentive and alert about their child’s surroundings in the cyber world. They should also watch for behavioural change caused due to emotional abuse online, and must take preventive measures. While they need to enable their kids with devices and access to the internet, to stay attuned and competitive, they must ensure, at the same time that the devices are equipped with the best safety and security features.


Asahi India Glass Denotes Sustainability with Mahindra TERI-Centre of Excellence

Chandigarh 19th June:- Mahindra and TERI’s new Center of Excellence (CoE) was inaugurated in Gurugram by the group Chairman Anand Mahindra. Asahi India Glass Ltd. (AIS) – India’s leading integrated glass company has completed their most-celebrated energy efficient project Mahindra-TERI CoE’s new research facility.
Mahindra TERI Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Habitats has been established to develop energy efficient innovative solutions tailored to the Indian building sector and climates. It would also develop an effective dissemination strategy for energy efficient envelope design and water use for sustainable habitats. Mahindra TERI CoE is a SVA-GRIHA 5-star rated building. The recently inaugurated CoE at Gurugram has employed innovated products from AIS, India’s leading integrated glass company in its structure. Products like high performance energy efficient glass, uPVC doors and Windows, laminated skylight work & frameless doors were installed in this building.
On completion of the project, Sanjay Labroo, MD & CEO, Asahi India Glass Ltd (AIS) said that AIS has always believed in sustainable living and one of the ways to show our support and commitment to the same, is through our innovative, specialized and sustainable glass products and solutions. Speaking at the launch, Anand Mahindra, Chairman, Mahindra Group said that we have used the planet’s resources disproportionately for our development so far.  For India to develop, we will need to find new and innovative ways so as to reduce the adverse impact on our planet. To find the right balance between development and sustainability is a big opportunity for businesses to make profit and flourish and therefore being green should not be considered as a burden or cost.
Talking about the need for green buildings and sustainability,  Anita Arjundas, Managing Director, Mahindra LifeSpaces said that the Centre of Excellence is an outcome of the vision to bring academia, developers, and the building material industry partners together to work on building materials and innovation for the Indian context.
Ajay Mathur, Director General, TERI said that 2/3rd of India is yet to be built. We need to find new sustainable building materials. This initiative of CoE has been 2 years in the making and has been made possible with Mahindra LifeSpaces and our partners like Asahi India Glass(AIS) who have supported the CoE with energy efficient fenestration and glazing solutions.

Kare Partners Chandigarh Announces Cost Effective Heart Surgeries for the Economically Challenged

The Chandigarh Heart centre launched a charity plan under which it is providing an Angioplasty Procedure for just Rs. 60,000/-, which also includes cost of a Stent & Angiography, if the case is Single Vessel disease (SVD) with no hidden charges.

He briefed that how one can avail this facility–A patient needs to have at least one of the certified documents like BPL card, Letter from Sarpanch, Letter from MC, Deputy Commissioner Letter and Sub divisional Magistrate letter. 
Commenting on the special charity plan launched for the economically challenged Liz Ross, Director, Kare Partners Group, USA said that the hardest part of being a cardiac medical person in India is having to tell a patient the cost of heart surgery and watch the despair in their eyes. To produce the finances required can wipe out a family. For these needy families we have introduced this charity plan with a commitment of no compromise on the quality of the treatment and services.
Chandigarh heart centre has also recently introduced BYPASS surgery and has conducted 10 surgeries. One of our female patients with age 66 came to the hospital on 4th June, with complaints of chest pain, sweating and breathlessness. The patient’s Angiography was done and was diagnosed with triple vessel disease. Patient was advised for Coronary Artery Bypass graft (CABG). The family was very worried but our doctors counselled them in detail and gave all the understanding about the procedure. Family and the patient were highly satisfied and convinced.
On 11th June,the surgery was done successfully without any complications by Dr. Shashi Jindal, Cardiothoracic Surgeon. The Next very day, patient was extubated and is stable and responding very well to post-op treatment. The patient has no symptoms with which she came and will be able to do the daily routine jobs easily. The family members are equally happy with the services of the hospital. Since opening, many other patients have undergone this procedure.
