धार्मिक प्रचारक या किसी अन्य पर भी बलात्कार का मामला दर्ज करने से पहले होनी चाहिए गहनता से जांच पड़ताल: पास्टर अनवर मसीह

Chandigarh 02nd November:- क्रिस्चियन दलित फ्रंट के महासचिव अनवर मसीह,पास्टर सुनील, उर्मिल, प्रोफेट बजिंदर सिंह के भाई पंकज, पत्नी अनिका और कुछ संस्थाओं ने चंडीगढ़ प्रैस क्लब में जालंधर के प्रोफेट बजिंदर सिंह पर लगे आरोपों को झूठा और निराधार बताते हुए  प्रोफेट बजिंदर सिंह को पूरी तरह से निर्दोष और बेकसूर बताया।    
चंडीगढ़ में प्रोफेट बजिंदर सिंह के समर्थन में पत्रकारवार्ता करने पहुंचे अनवर मसीह और पंकज ने बताया कि जिस महिला अमनप्रीत ने  प्रोफेट बजिंदर सिंह  पर बलात्कार का आरोप लगाया है वह सरासर झूठ है। दो बच्चों की माँ अमनप्रीत पहले भी जम्मू और चंडीगढ़ किसी निवासी के खिलाफ रेप का मामले दर्ज करा चुकी है। इसका उनके पास सबूत मौजूद है लेकिन बाद में अमनप्रीत कौर ने इनसे समझौता कर लिया था । अमनप्रीत ने जिस मकान में बलात्कार करने का आरोप लगाया था, उसकी मकान मालिक ने भी प्रैस वार्ता में शामिल होकर बताया कि वह मकान किसी और को पहले ही किराए पर दिया जा चुका था। जिस समय की वो महिला घटना बता रही है उस वक़्त तो मकान किसी और को किराये पर दिया जा चूका था।  पादरी बजिंदर की पत्नी अनिका ने भी प्रैस वार्ता में अपने पति की बेगुनाही की दुहाई दी और कहा कि अमनप्रीत ने एक साल बाद ही क्यों आरोप लगाए, जबकि आज भी उनके पति पादरी बजिंदर पर लोग श्रदा रखते हैं।  उन्होने कहा कि न्यायपालिका पर हमें पूरा भरोसा है।
ऑल इंडिया क्रिस्चियन कमेटी के प्रधान अनवर मसीह ने पादरी बजिंदर के मामले में कहा कि हालांकि उन्हें हाई कोर्ट से जमानत मिल गई है, पर उन पर लगने वाले आरोप पूर्णतया गलत हैं, क्योंकि जिस लड़की अमनप्रीत ने उन पर आरोप लगाए हैं । वह लड़की पहले ही दो अलग-अलग मामलों में यही आरोप दो अन्य लोगों पर भी लगा चुकी है। इसके साथ ही अमनप्रीत के अनुसार जिस मकान में 07 नवंबर 2017 को उसने अपने साथ बलात्कार होने का आरोप लगाया है वह मकान 01 नवंबर को ही किसी और को किराए पर दिया जा चुका था। यह सरासर पास्टर को बदनाम करने की साजिश है हम सरकार से अपील करते हैं कि धार्मिक प्रचारक या किसी अन्य पर भी बलात्कार का मामला दर्ज करने से पहले अच्छी तरह जांच पड़ताल करने के बाद ही मामला दर्ज करना चाहिए जिस से उनकी समाज में बदनामी ना हो।

Punjab Governor Flags off Rotary’s Gift of Diwali Sweets for Jawans

Chandigarh 02nd November:- Rotarians of Rotary District 3080 sent 5000 kg of sweets for jawans on Indian borders. Governor of Punjab and Administrator UT Chandigarh V.P. Singh Badnore, flagged off the two truck loads containing 5,000 boxes for jawans at Punjab Raj Bhavan here today.
This is a commendable gesture of Rotarians to remember Army Jawans who guard our borders day and night so that we can live in peace.
Rajendra K Saboo, former world president of Rotary International, said that the consignment is being airlifted by Indian Air Force for further distribution to army units at Siachin and Ladakh borders where our jawans serve in hard conditions to protect our borders.
Rotary District Governor Praveen Chander Goyal, said that ‘Aap Hain, To Hum Hain’ is the greeting pasted on each box from Rotarians of pride Chandigarh, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, UP and Uttrakhand, who contributed for this campaign.
He commended the efforts of the Project Chair past district governor Kawal Bedi who managed the campaign and galvanized Rotarians to contribute over Rs.20 lakh within a period of one week.
Largest contribution of over 1700 boxes came from Rotary Club of Chandigarh who has been coordinating with Army and Indian Air Force.
The program was initiated three years back by Rotary Club of Chandigarh when 4,000 boxes of 1kg each were airlifted to Leh.

10th Edition of National Crafts Mela to Begin from November 9

Chandigarh 02nd November:- The National Crafts Mela will make a comeback with its 10th edition from 9th November to 18th November 2018 at Kalagram, Chandigarh. The Mela, a joint venture of Chandigarh Administration and North Zone Cultural Centre (NZCC) will be inaugurated by V.P Singh Badnore, Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator, U.T., Chandigarh.
While giving more detail about the festival, Jitender Yadav, Director Cultural Affairs, Chandigarh Administration said that National Crafts Mela is the unique event that showcases the diversity of handicrafts, handlooms and cultural fabric of our country. To add the musical and rhythmic element to the event, this event brings together the large number of renowned national folk artists and cultural groups.
He shared further that 170 number of Stalls have been constructed at the site to display spectacular work of artisan and craftsmen of Chandigarh and other states. The main attraction of the event will be the stall dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi to mark the 150th birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation. The stall will showcase some of the rare pictures of Mahatma Gandhi's life, freedom struggle, and other aspects of his remarkable journey.
Jitender Yadav said that on the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Chandigarh Administration would like to give a special tribute to the Iconic leader with this special demonstration. The relevance of Mahatma Gandhi values is very strong, and this stall is the reflection of his values and major events of his life that has and will always influence our lives.
Cultural evenings have always been the most entertaining and attractive part of the event. The fair has grown in stature and has got on board some acclaimed artists and bands for the cultural performances. Renowned celebrities of the Punjabi industry like Hans Raj Hans, Satinder Sartaj, Jazzy B, Lakhwinder Wadali will be spreading the musical magic with their performances.
Saubhagya Vardhan, Director North Zone Cultural Centre said that the annual event provides a rare opportunity to the artists to display their creative work and potential to a cross section of people. It is the richness of the handicrafts, handlooms and our cultural heritage that makes this event unique.

2nd Short Course on Public Health Informatics Concludes at PGIMER

Chandigarh 02nd November:- The 2nd short course on Public Health Informatics organized jointly by School of Public Health, PGIMER and Department of Informatics, University of Oslo, Norway, concluded today. Dr. Lakshmi, Professor of Epidemiology, School of Public Health discussed about the project evaluation in health informatics and gave an overview of challenges faced while evaluating these projects.
Dr. Dharamjeet Singh Faujdar and Dilroop gave practical demonstration of district health information system (DHIS) to the participants throughout the course.
Dr. Nikita Sharma, Senior resident discussed the ways to monitor progress towards Universal Health Coverage through health information systems and challenges faced in the process. Field visit to public health dispensary, sector-25 was conducted to show open MRS and DHIS2.
Jatinder Kumar gave a live demonstration of hospital information system (HIS) during visit to data center, PGIMER. About 21 participants from all over India, representing the medical professionals, health systems and information technology professionals participated in the course.




Bureau of Indian Standards Celebrates World Standards Day

Chandigarh 02nd November:- The World Standards Day was celebrated by Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) , Northern Regional Office, Chandigarh,.  The World Standards Day is celebrated all over the world on 14th October.
On this occasion, a programme was organised by Bureau of Indian Standards under the theme ‘International Standards and the Fourth Industrial Revolution’. The theme is chosen collectively by International Organization for Standardization (ISO), International Electro-technical Commission (IEC) and International Telecommunication Union. (ITU).
In his inaugural address, Kapil Setia, Chief Architect, Chandigarh (U.T), said that the Fourth Industrial Revolution refers to the sheer volume  of technological advance that is disrupting all aspects of  civil society including government, health care, education, employability, the urban experience and more. He further elaborated some of the aspects of this revolution such as 3 D printing and artificial intelligence and intelligent transportation. He commended the efforts made by BIS in formulation of standards in line with national and international practices.
N.K. kansara, Deputy Director General, Northern Regional Office, Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), in his address said that every year on 14th October, World Standards Day is celebrated to pay tribute to the efforts of thousands of experts world over who collaborate with International Organisation for Standardization. (ISO).
The technical seminar organised by BIS was chaired by Dr. H.K.Sardana, Chief Scientist, CSIR-CSIO , Chandigarh. Dr. Sardana conducted the technical session in which presentation were made by Prof. (Dr.) parveen Kalra, Head, Centre of Excellence in Industrial & Product Design, PEC, Chandigarh and Dr. Naveen Aggarwal, Associate Professor, UIET, Panjab University, Chandigarh. The programme was attended by industry, BIS licencees, Consumer Organization etc.


RUSA organizes One Day Capacity Building Activity on ‘Manifesting Creative Potential: An Introduction to Creative Writing’ at GGSCW

Chandigarh 02nd November:- Internal Quality Assurance Cell of GGSCW, Sector-26, Chandigarh organized a workshop on NAAC Awareness Programme: Quest for Quality on 2ndNovember, 2018 under aegis of Rashtriya Uchchtar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA). Dr. Alok Chakrawal, Professor (Finance, HR, and Marketing) & Coordinator IQAC Saurashtra University, Rajkot conducted the workshop in which he appraised the faculty about the changes in the NAAC accreditation process even as he answered queries of the staff regarding the preparation of SSR.
Also, a One Day Capacity Building Activity on “Manifesting Creative Potential: An Introduction to Creative Writing” was organized by the Department of English of the College, under aegis of Rashtriya Uchchtar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA).
Inderjit Singh Paintal was the Resource Person for the activity. Students and faculty members enthusiastically participated in the event and shared their writings. Inderjit Singh Paintal gave many insightful pointers to the students to help enhance their expression and storytelling skills and guided them with grace and finesse.
