HDFC Bank Launches Secure Banking Programme in Ludhiana

Ludhiana 09th November:- HDFC Bank Ltd., today launched its Secure Banking programme at Ludhiana in Punjab. The initiative is part of HDFC Bank’s ongoing endeavour to create customer awareness about safe banking practices. The programme will be rolled out across all 114 branches in the state to educate customers and create awareness among general public.
At a function organized in the city, the initiative was launched by Jatinder Gupta, Zonal Head Punjab, HDFC Bank, in the presence of other senior HDFC Bank officials.
The 'Secure Banking' initiative comprises a series of workshops, which educate customers through presentations, on matters they need to be careful about, while conducting banking transactions. This includes using netbanking, mobile apps, transacting at ATMs; using debit or credit cards at POS terminals, merchant outlets, and online banking.
These workshops are also open to the general public. Both customers and non-customers are welcome to attend the series of workshops, which will be conducted at various branches across India on a regular basis.
In addition to the branches, various other channels like ATM screens, mobile banking app, and the HDFC Bank website will be used to spread awareness about Secure Banking.
Jatinder Gupta Zonal Head, Punjab, HDFC Bank said that banking in India has made tremendous progress in the last two decades and it continues to evolve further. With the advent of technology, customers need to be educated on possible frauds they can fall prey to. An alert and well-informed customer is less likely to inadvertently disclose personal banking details. Through this simple presentation, which educates customers about the dos and don’ts they must follow while using these platforms with the help of real-life examples and case studies, we hope to create greater awareness of safe banking practices among general public,

ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਜਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਅਫਸਰ (ਸੈਕੰਡਰੀ)ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਸਵੀਪ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਤਹਿਤ ਫੋਟੋ ਵੋਟਰ ਸੂਚੀ ਦੀ ਸੁਧਾਈ 2017 ਦੌਰਾਨ ਜਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਦੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਪ੍ਰਾਈਵੇਟ ਅਤੇ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਸੀਨੀਅਰ ਸੈਕੰਡਰੀ ਸਕੂਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਖੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਦਾਇਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਵੇ ਕਿ ਜਿਨਾ੍ਹਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਉਮਰ 18 ਸਾਲ ਤੋਂ ਵਧ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਹੁਣ ਤੀਕ ਉਨਾ੍ਹਂ ਦੀਆ ਵੋਟਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣੀਆਂ ਉਹ ਫਾਰਮ ਨੰਬਰ 6 ਭਰਵਾਕੇ ਨਵੀਂਆਂ ਵੋਟਾਂ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਅਤੇ ਭਰੇ ਗਏ ਫਾਰਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਬਾਰੇ ਸਬੰਧਤ .ਆਰ. ਨੂੰ ਸੂਚਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਉਨਾ੍ਹਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਹਰੇਕ ਕੈਂਪਸ ਐਬੰਸਡਰ ਆਪਣੇ੿ਆਪਣੇ ਕਾਲਜ਼, ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਵਿਚ 02 ਜਨਵਰੀ 2017 ਤੱਕ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਫੈਸਟੀਵਲ ਜਾਂ ਹੋਰ ਫੰਕਸ਼ਨਾਂ ਸਬੰਧੀ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਸਬੰਧਤ ਚੋਣਕਾਰ ਰਜਿਸਟ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਅਫਸਰ ਕਮ ਉਪ ਮੰਡਲ ਮੈਜਿਸਟ੍ਰੇਟ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਣਗੇ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਇਸ ਸਬੰਧੀ ਚੋਣਕਾਰ ਰਜਿਸਟ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਅਫਸਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਵੀ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਹਿੱਤ ਸਟਾਲ ਲਗਵਾਏ ਜਾ ਸਕਣ 


Water Supply and Sewerage Disposal Committee Meeting Held

Chandigarh 09th November:- A meeting of Water Supply and Sewerage Disposal Committee, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh was held under the Chairmanship of  Satinder Singh and attended by other members of the Committee including  Heera Negi, Des Raj Gupta, Maj. (Retd) D. S. Sandhu, Pardeep Chhabra and concerned officers of Municipal Corporation.
During the meeting the agenda of strengthening of Existing Sewerage system by Providing and Laying of 200 mm I/D Sewer line to stop the frequent blockage at bank colony & Pipliwala Town Manimajra, Chandigarh at an estimate cost of Rs. 9.95 lacs., Estimate for the work of providing and laying of DI water supply pipe line for supplying of canal water to UGR at Katchi Colony, Dadu Majra, Chandigarh at an estimate cost of Rs. 10.03 lacs, and rough cost estimate for the work of Providing RCC NP-2 pipe for disposal of rain water in low lying area near toilet block in village Palsora and other Contingent works there to Chandigarh at estimate cost of Rs.21.97 lacs discussed and approved by the committee.

Punjab Health Summit on Universal Health Coverage on November 11

Chandigarh 09th November:- A Health Summit is being organized by Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Punjab in collaboration with PGI and WHO on 11th November, 2016 at IISER at SAS Nagar on “Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Universal Health Coverage: States’ Perspective”. Recently, Ministry of Health, Government of India organized a national consultation on Universal Health Coverage which led to the enactment of Delhi Declaration by the State Secretaries of Health. Punjab’s Department of Health and Family Welfare has taken a lead to become the first state to organize a Summit to discuss strategies to achieve 3rd SDG goal of “Ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all at all ages” by 2030. 
The summit will be inaugurated by Chief Minister of Punjab Parkash Singh Badal. Eminent dignitaries who would participate in the high-level summit include S K Jyani, Health Minister Punjab, Dr. Poonam Khetrapal Singh, Regional Director WHO SEARO, Dr Henk Bekedam, WHO Representative to India, CK Mishra, Union Health Secretary and Dr. Soumya Swaminathan, Secretary, Department of Health Research.
The summit will have participation of senior level health functionaries including Principal Secretaries and Director Health Services of Twenty States and Union Territories in India. National and international experts will discuss strategies for reducing out of pocket expenditures in health care, making health services available to all those who need and improving quality and accountability to health care services. Experts will deliberate on the strategies to control rising health care expenditures, introduction of information technology in health care for delivering services and tracking outcomes. Novel programs and schemes being implemented in different states and countries will be shared for cross-learning. Finally, the Summit will lead to creation of aVision 2030 to achieve SDGs and universal health coverage.
The event will also mark the launch of Punjab Health Care Portal, which has been developed for Department of Health and Family Welfare by HISP. This will be the first state level citizens’ portal to provide information on health care facilities and services in different areas. This portal will also be used for obtaining patient’s feedback on quality of services.



CME cum Workshop on Laws Applicable to Hospitals: Issues,Challenges & Possible Solutions at PGI

Chandigarh 09th November:- The two day 7th CME cum Workshop on Laws applicable to Hospitals: Issues, Challenges & Possible Solutions was organized by Department of Hospital Administration, PGI, Chandigarh. There was a Pan India representation of delegates from different states of the country who attended the programme.
Dr. A.K. Gupta, Medical Superintendent-cum-Professor & Head welcomed the delegates who have come from different parts of the country and stressed that knowledge of legal issues pertaining to healthcare is very important for hospital administrators in their day to day functioning.
The technical sessions started with the talk of Prof. A.K. Gupta, Medical Superintendent-cum-Professor & Head, who through his talk apprised the delegates with the intricacies of the Contract labor Act and its applied aspects. The other resource faculty deliberated on Transplantation of Human Organs Act, Right to Information Act, Consumer Protection act, Delhi Fire safety and Prevention Act, PCPNDT Act, Biomedical waste management rules. The issues and challenges faced during the implementation of this act and the possible solution arrived at was the core of the two days programme. The real time case studies presented by the resource faculty and the hands on workshop session pertaining to each act lent collective wisdom on the subject.
The two day programme ended with the valedictory function presided over by Director Health Services U.T. Chandigarh, Dr. Rakesh Kashyap. Speaking on the occasion, he said that compliance to these Laws as well as laid down medical ethics standard are essential component of medical practice and should be adhered to in letter and spirit. Dr. Kashyap highlighted the need of inclusion of a chapter on important laws applicable to hospitals in the M.B.B. S curriculum. 
Dr. A K Gupta and Dr. Navneet Dhaliwal from Hospital Administration thanked all the delegates and resource faculty for their active participation.

1200 Students ​Attempt ​to ​​Eat Samosa Simultaneously

Chandigarh 09th November:- Samosas are perhaps one of the most loved snack items all across India, though the Samosa has Arabic origins, this humble snack has rose to fame in India as it is loved all across, be it Delhi or Kochi nobody hates a Samosa.
Taking this into consideration, Chitkara University and Little App (India's premiere App for Deals on everything near you!) joined hands & attempted to earn a place in the prestigious Limca Book of Records by setting a record titled “Most number of people eating a Samosa simultaneously”. This feat was attempted today at Chitkara University Punjab Campus with 1200 students.
Speaking on the occasion Manish Chopra & Satish Mani, the Co-founders of Little App, said that we all love Samosa's, don't we? . This is definitely something unique that no one has attempted before. Preparing 1200 plus Samosas and coordinating this entire event was no doubt a mammoth task and surely it was a fruitful one that will be remembered for long.
Mohit Chikara from Chitkara Educational Trust further added that this was a great activity for our students; we decided to attempt this record with more than 1200 students. There was a great deal of excitement, not just from the student's side but also from the entire staff and faculty as such an event has not taken place in India yet. At Chitkara we always strive to be different and be better than the rest.
