12th August:- A Skill
Development seminar was organized by the placement cell of the college at Guru
Gobind Singh College for Women sector 26 Chandigarh. Dr.Sandeep Singh Kaura ,
the Advisor( Skill Development Mission) Government of Punjab was the guest
speaker at the seminar. He is associated with the Punjab Skill Development
Mission and has been working with Rayat Bahra University as a Pro Vice
Chancellor. With a clear understanding of global higher education, he actively
participates in the areas of student career development, counselling, training
and placements. Dr. Sandeep Singh Kaura informed the students about the skill
development centers that are functioning in Punjab.
Further making
them aware of the importance of developing skills to improve their chances of
employability. He stressed on keeping
aspirations and motivation high and to work hard towards achieving their
dreams. He also apprised the students about financial assistance that Banks are
giving to economically weaker section of students. The show was well attended
by the college students. The seminar concluded with a vote of thanks by the
college Principal, Dr.Charanjeet Kaur Sohi. She encouraged the students to be
motivated about their ambitions in life.
