30th January:- Taking a serious note of PTC news
channel airing his photo in a news related to expulsion of Balbir Singh
Sidhu of Talwandi Saboo from Congress , Balbir Sidhu the Congress candidate
from Mohali has complained the matter to Election Commission while seeking
action against channel.
Addressing a press conference at
District Congress Committee office at Phase 1 here today, Balbir Singh Sidhu said
that after seeing its defeat in coming poll, Akali Dal has now resorted to
such cheap political tactics. It is in fact another poll gimmick by them
to tarnish his image by using these kinds of cheap means. After they failed to
match his political clout and popularity in Mohali, they have used their own channel
to deliberately run his photo in news that has nothing to do with him and not
having any faraway link with him.
Balbir Singh Sidhu further said that
channel has tried to bring bad name to his reputation without authenticate the
facts before telecasting his photo in news related to some other.
In a complain letter to Dr. Nasim
Zaidi, Chief Election Commissioner, Balbir Singh Sidhu has accused channel to
telecast his photograph intentionally in a news related to Balbir Singh
Sidhu who belongs to Talwandi Saboo in Bathinda district.
The copy of letter has also been
forwarded to the Punjab State Election Commissioner, District Electoral Officer
and Deputy Commissioner, Mohali for information and necessary action.
