April:- The week-long National Faculty Development
Programme (FDP) at MCM DAV College for Women, aimed at enhancing the skills of
faculty in higher education, entered its third day today. The programme
received enthusiastic response from the participants as it is tailored
specifically to augment the competency of faculty through extensive coverage of
wide-ranging topics.
The third day was dedicated to honing the
skills of faculty in using statistical software-SPSS. All the three highly
informative sessions of the day were conducted by Dr. Amit Lal, Assistant
Professor, Department of Humanities and Management, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar National
Institute of Technology, Jalandhar. Dwelling into the fundamentals of research,
basics of SPSS, role of SPSS in research, Dr. Amit Lal also held practical
sessions on the usage of the software with adequate examples to enable the
participants grasp the nuances of SPSS. The participants found the sessions
extremely beneficial.
Principal Dr. Nisha Bhargava said that
programmes like this are of essence in giving an impetus to quality in higher
education and the way the content of this programme has been planned, the
diversity of the topics will widen the horizons of the participants and
stimulate competency in dissemination of knowledge.
