April:- Govt. College of Yoga Education and Health,
Sector 23-A, Chandigarh organized a one day ‘Annual Athletic Meet’. On this
occasion Dr. Rakesh Kumar Kashyap, Director Health Services, UT Administration,
Chandigarh was the Chief Guest.
The Programme commenced with the inauguration
of the meet by unfurling the college flag by the Joint Director Sports, U.T.
Administration and Principal ‘Dr. Mahender Singh’ followed by oath taking
ceremony. While addressing the guests & students he shared his insight
about the significance of sports in a student’s life and motivated them for the
whole-hearted participation.
In the morning session various events like
100 mtr race, Three Legged Race, Long Jump, High Jump, Discuss Throw, were
performed by students with great zeal.
The afternoon session comprised of wheel and
Barrow Race, Thread and Needle race, Lemon Spoon Race and various adventurous
games in which students as well as staff participated and enjoyed immensely.
In the evening session Dr. Rakesh Kumar
Kashyap the worthy Chief Guest awarded the Prizes and Certificate to the
winners and congratulated them for their enthusiastic performance Sarabjit
Singh was declared the Best Athlete (Boys) and Paramjeet Kaur was declared as
the Best Athlete (Girls). The Annual Sports Achievements were presented by the
Principal of the college. The event concluded with the National Anthem.
