April:- The students of Police Administration at MCM
DAV College for Women visited Government of India's Central Detective Training
School (CDTS), Sector 36 under the aegis of Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan
(RUSA). The visit aimed at providing firsthand experience to the students
regarding police procedures and techniques in crime investigation.
B.M.Sharma (IPS), Principal, CDTS briefed the
students about the investigation and detection of crimes and the courses one
can pursue for a career in this field. A demonstration on the comprehensive
technique of investigating a crime scene was given by Dr. L.S.Rana former Vice-Principal,
CDTS and the use of various forensics detection kits was shown to the students.
Thorough knowledge of narcotic drugs and substances was also provided. Gurcharan
Singh, member CDTS sensitized the students about cyber crimes and advised them to
be extra cautious while surfing social networking sites.
MCM Principal Dr.Nisha Bhargava appreciated
this endeavor to provide exposure to the students by interacting with the
experts in the field.
