Spring Festival Organizes by SBI Officers Resident Welfare Society

By Tricitynews Reporter
Chandigarh 12th April:- The varied colors of Chandigarh during the Spring inspired the residents of Sector 42-C, SBI Officer’s Colony to celebrate the Spring Festival in a unique way.
A group of accomplished Harmonica Players ‘Harmonica Diwane’ from Chandigarh and all parts of the country were invited by the residents to grace the occasion and perform. The open air stage, moonlight night and back-to-back retro tunes on Harmonica made the audience spellbound. Most of the artists were Senior Citizens and were amateur, self taught and had their own professions to pursue. They are all the members of the Indian Mouthorgan Players Association, who assemble every year in different parts of the country and try to keep the instrument alive by staging musical programmes and shows.  The group at the regional level was formed in the year 2014 in the memory of Harmonica Legend Milan Gupta  to promote the Harmonica among youngsters.  This year, all the members were at Chandigarh for their annual meet and staged the Spring Festival in the premises of the SBI Colony.
The unique event was highly applauded. The Harmonica Players of Chandigarh, Pritam Chandel and Shakti Singh Kohli and the SBI Officers Association Residents organized the festival. Arun Sharma managed the stage and SBI Dy General Managers Chandok, Shannbag and Raghvendra honored the artists.
