Zee Classiic Presents ‘Haathi Mere Saathi’ on 13th May

Chandigarh 08th May:- Animals show us what's missing in our lives, and how to love completely and unconditionally. With a premise that builds on this overwhelming bond between an elephant and a man, Zee Classic, with its brand promise of Who Zamaana, Kare Deewana will air the all-time hit film Haathi Mere Saathi on Saturday, 13th May at 7 PM.
Directed by M.A. Thirumugham the film stars the dashing Rajesh Khanna and beautiful Tanuja in the lead. The film went on to become the biggest commercial hit of 1971 and was one of the 17 consecutive hits given by Rajesh Khanna. It was also the first collaboration of writer duo Salim-Javed, who later gave numerous hits to Indian cinema.
The film features orphaned Raju (Rajesh Khanna) who is a street performer along with four elephants who had rescued him from a leopard during his childhood. His life revolves round his four-legged friends, Ramu (elephant) being the closest to him. When he makes it big, he builds a private zoo for them and other animals that he treats as his friends. He meets Tanu(Tanuja) and, they fall in love and go on to start a family. Tanu is unhappy with the amount of time Raju spends with his animal friends and this causes some bitterness between them. Trouble arises in the paradise when Raju is asked to choose between his family and the elephants.  Who will Raju Choose?
