Powermen Declares to Observe Mass Leave on Diwal

Chandigarh 12th October:- The Electricity Employees of Chandigarh under the banner of U.T. Powermen Union Chandigarh today i.e. on 12.10.2017 held a massive protest dharna & demonstration Near the Electricity Office Sector 17, Chandigarh. The Dharna and demonstration is being held against the authorities of the department for the issuance of suspension order’s of the employees of lower carders and for protecting the officers in theft case as well as against the authorities of the department for their negative attitude towards the genuine grievances of the employees. The employees of various sanctions from all the offices participate in the Dharna in a massive way.
While addressing the Dharna Union General Secretary of the Union Gopal Datt Joshi strongly criticize and condemned Chief Engineer U.T. Chandigarh and Superintending Engineer Electricity ‘Operation’ circle and Executive Engineer Electy ‘Op’ Div. No.2 who through manipulation, on the recommendation of SDO concerned suspended the 4 Nos. Sub Station Attendants  and blamed that the lower employees has been suspended and made victim to save the corruption/ malpractice  of higher authorities in case of theft of copper plates form the 66 KV substation IT Park and the suspension order of the employees has been issued without any investigation and departmental enquiries. The officers of the department are involve in the theft case and trying to shift the responsibilities on the shoulder of lower employees and termed it a manipulation of the officers concern after thought i.e. a gap more than 3 months of the theft.
While opposing the suspension order of the employees the he blamed that the SE Electricity issued the suspension order of lower employees on the recommendation of the SDO concern without applying his mind and further blame that firstly the transfer order of the employees issued 15 days ago to shift them from the destination and on 29th September, 2017 at night issued suspension orders of the employees even personal hearing have not even given to the concerned employees despite reputed requests of the employees concerned and union. But the main responsible person have even not been shifted / transfer, thus give them favoritism which is unfair and demanded immediate repatriation of the SDO to his parent State.
Vijay Singh Senior Vice President, Desh Raj, Vice President, Dhian Singh, Pardeep Sharma Joint Secretary, Raj Pal, Amrik Singh, Darshan Singh Secretary, Ranjit Singh, Gurmeet Singh, Daler Singh, Gagandeep, Kashmir Singh, Tilak Raj, Pan Singh, Sukhwinder Singh, Swaran Singh, Narinder Kumar Chaoudhary and other leaders of the Union while strongly criticize the management for their illegal step blamed that the authorities instead of implement genuine grievances of the employees are adopting repressing attitude and working against the interest of department and its employees which will not be tolerated.
Raghbir Chand President, Rajinder Katoch, Bhim Sen, Bish Ram, Rekha Sharma, Baljinder Kumar Vice Presidents, Harkesh Chand, Behari Lal, Nasib Singh, Prem Lal and other leaders Federation of so supported the agitation of the powermen and decided to fight against the wrong action of the department officers.
Union president Satpal while congratulating the employees for their massive participation strongly condemned the negative attitude of the authorities and warn that if the suspension order of the employees will not be revoked immediately on pending enquiry and action will not be taken against the concerned SDO then union will continue its agitation and regular protest rally will be held daily before Diwali and mass leave will be observe on 19.10.2017 (Diwali). The authorities will be fully responsible for any inconvenience to the public due to agitation and strike. Later the delegation of the Union called by the Chief Engineer U.T. Chandigarh and delegation submit memorandum on which detail discussion were held on each an every demand including revocation of suspension orders.
