15th ONGC S.N. Vohra Memorial Sub-Jr. (U-14) Hockey Tournament from 30th Aug. to 06th Sept. 2016

Chandigarh 29^th August:- Rock Rovers Hockey club an affiliated unit of Hockey Chandigarh, which is always in forefront for the promotion of hockey is organizing 15^th ONGC S.N. Vohra memorial Sub-Jr. (U-14) Hockey tournament from 30^th Aug. to 06^th Sept. 2016 at Sector 42, Hockey Stadium, Chandigarh. This tournament is being organized for providing competition to the upcoming youngster at grass root level and for the promotion of Hockey our National Game.

The Tournament has been gaining in popularity and we received an overwhelming response from all over the country.  In view of the financial constrain we have been able to accommodate only twelve teams as in the previous year, who would be vying for the top honour.  This tournament will be played on league cum knock out basis.  

Tournament committee accepted the entries of following twelve teams which are CFHA Chandigarh, SAI Training Centre, Kurukshetra, DAV Sr. Sec. School, Shahabad, both from Haryana, Surjit Hockey Acdy. Jalandhar, Cheema Hockey Acdy. Batala, Mohali Hockey Acdy. Mohali, Malva Khalsa School, Ludhiyana all from Punjab, MSSK Gazipur, G.G.S Sports College, Lucknow, both from UP, Hockey Citizen group, New Delhi, Kolkata Warrior Athletic Club, Kolkata, Bhilwara Hockey Acdy. Rajasthan. All the teams have confirmed their participation in the tournament.

All Twelve teams will be divided in four pools in the league and the top team of each pool will play in the semifinal of the tournament and top two of the semifinalist will play the final of the tournament. Two matches will be played daily in the afternoon session between 3.00 PM to 6.00 PM.

All the players who are participating in this tournament will be medically examined for age proof by our competent doctor’s team, whose decisions will be final and binding to all the participants. 

This is a prize money tournament.  The Winner and Runner-up will get Rs. 50,000/- and 40,000/- respectively.  Besides individual prizes, a memento & Cash award of Rs. 1000/- for the Best Goal keeper, Full back, Half back, forward and most well behaved team (Dr. B.L. Gupta Memorial, fair play Trophy) will also be awarded.

Inaugural match be played between CFHA, Chandigarh V/s DAV Sr. Sec. School, Shahabad HR. at 3:00 PM on & second match will be played Mohali Hockey Acdy. Mohali V/s Cheema Hockey Acdy. Batala at 4:15 Pm on 30^th August 2016.
