Chandigarh
12th September:- On the second day of ongoing All India Inter University Rowing
Championship here at Sukhna Lake, Chandigarh, Punjabi University Rowers
outshined with winning 4 Gold, 1-1 Silver and Bronze medals. Total 18 Men and
Women Rowing University teams from all over the country are participating in
this championship under the chairmanship of Dr. Gurdeep Kaur Randhawa Director
Sports Punjabi University Patiala.
Kurukshetra University is
still at second place on second day by winning 3 Gold, 3 Silver and 1Bronze
medal. Punjab University Rowers Navneet Kaur Sirthala (Samrala) won two Gold
Medals, whereas Gurwinder Singh won 1Gold and 1 Bronze Medal.
In Single Scull
competition Navneet Kaur of Punjabi University got Gold Medal whereas Navneet Kaur
and Amandeep Kaur from same University won Gold Medal in Double Scull
competition.
Mandeep Kaur, Kawaljeet
Kaur and Gagandeep Kaur of Punjabi University won Gold Medal in the event
Coxless Fours. On the other hand Gurwinder Singh and Sukhwinder Singh successfully
got Gold Medal in Double Scull event, whereas Gurwinder Singh got Bronze Medal
in Single Scull. In Women section Punjabi University Rowers Mandeep Kaur and
Monika won Silver Medal in Women Coxless Pair event.
