Chandigarh
26th January:- The
Municipal Corporation Chandigarh has organized a colorful function to
commemorate the Republic Day in Fire Station, Sector 17, here today. Asha
Jaswal, Mayor of Chandigarh was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
While addressing a massive gathering on
the occasion after unfurling the National Flag, Mayor said that this was a day
of introspection for all of us to see if we have fulfilled the dreams of our
great freedom fighters.
She said that Chandigarh is a beautiful
city and it is our prime duty to maintain its beauty forever. She said that
being a Smart City, Chandigarh needs to be maintained its cleanliness, all
basic amenities to the citizens and latest technology and infrastructure etc.
She mentioned that throughout the year Swachh Bharat Mission and Women
Empowerment will be her priority duties alongwith various developmental works
of the Municipal Corporation.
On this occasion, Mayor Asha Jaswal and
B. Purushartha, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh given regular
appointment letters to 30 dependants on Compassionate ground and regularized
the services of two daily wagers besides awarding commendation certificates to
26 employees of MC and Pankaj Sidana, Table Tennis Player from Chandigarh.

Mayor, Anil Kumar Dubey, Deputy Mayor, Capt. Karnail Singh, PCS & Manoj
Khatri, Joint Commissioners, N.P. Sharma, Chief Engineer, Sanjay Arora, S.E.
(PH), Dr. P.S. Bhatti, Medical Officer of Health, councilors of MC, prominent
citizens, officers & officials of MC were present during the function.
During the Republic Day Speech, Mayor
