Housing Societies Residents Welfare Federation Holds Dharna

Chandigarh 27th March:- A  dharna was organized by Housing Societies Residents Welfare Federation, (Regd), Chandigarh   today (Near Small Crossing of Sector 49-50) adjoining Young Dwellers Society Sector 49, Chandigarh, to highlight the issues of Society residents of Chandigarh. Presidents and others officer bearers from different societies participated in the Dharna, which was attended by around 300 persons in which problems of societies were discussed at large.
Prahlad Bhagat Vasudeva (Advocate), General Secretary of the Federation informed the members present in the meeting the Federation had proposed for the share wise / flat wise conveyance deed to the Administration, but the process of chunk of land adopted by the Administration shall make the process lengthy and more expensive, He stressed to make the process simple and helpful so that interested persons can take benefit and those not interested at this stage due to some reason or the other may not be compelled unnecessarily.
Rakesh Chopra, Press Secretary stressed that the relaxations given by the finance department for the purpose of obtaining completion certificates to the societies should also be considered for the sanction of revised plans to the societies.  Because the completion can be obtained only after sanction of revised plans if there are major changes in the societies.
Minakshi Chaudhary, legal Advisor of the Federation stressed for conversion of lease hold societies into freehold on priority basis.
Davinder Gupta, Chairman Housefed emphasized to create a temporary marked in these sectors till the permanent marked is not provided for the convenience of public.  He informed that residents of sector 50 are complled to travel at least 4 Kms to purchase even a matchbox.
In the end Kamal Kant Gupta, Chairman told that the Housing Society Federation is a totally non political body and is tirelessly working for the welfare of the area residents.  He felt sorry for the absence of area councilor from the dharna whereas when the previous dharna was organized by the Federation, the same was attended by the Mayor, and both the area councilors, He told the members that federation has a lot of hope and good expectation from both the area councilors, Mayor and Member Parliament to get the issues resolved at the earliest.
Kamal Kant Gupta, said that federation shall wait for 2 months but keep in touch with all the local leaders and in case nothing comes out during this period, we will chalk out our further line of action.
