over the charge of the Chairman of The Punjab State Cooperative Bank Ltd.,
Chandigarh. The occasion was graced by the presence of K.P.S.Rana, Speaker,

Minister, Punjab, S. Manpreet Singh Badal, Finance Minister, Punjab, Sadhu
Singh Dharmsot, Forest Minister, Punjab, S. Balbir Singh Sidhu, Health
Minister, Punjab, Raman Behal, Chairman S.S.Board, Punjab, Ch. Darshan Lal,
MLA, G.P.Singh, MLA, S. Gurkirat Singh Kotli, MLA, Lakhbir Singh Lakha, MLA, S.
Jagmohan Singh Kang, Former Cabinet Minister, Punjab, S. Gurjit Singh Lehal, Member NRI Commission,Pandit

and retired Bureaucrats/ Police Officers, Members PCC, leading congress and
social leaders. A large number of supporters and well-wishers of Rana Virender
Singh were also present. The event was also attended by Vikas Garg, IAS,
Registrar, Cooperative Societies, Punjab, Varun Roojam, IAS, Managing Director,
Punjab State Cooperative Bank Ltd., Officers and Officials of Cooperative
Department and Punjab State Cooperative Bank.
Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa,
Cooperation and Jail Minister, Punjab congratulated the newly appointed
Chairman and thanked Capt Amrinder Singh,Chief Minister, Punjab for appointing a
highly educated and seasoned leader belonging to farming community as the
Chairman of the Punjab State Cooperative Banks which mainly caters to the
financial needs of the farmers and rural folks as majority of 802 Branches of
the Bank are in the rural area. S S Randhawa said that the bank is launching
numerous new schemes and services to expand the business of the Bank. S. S Randhawa
specifically remembered and eulogized the services rendered by the Veteran
Congress Leader Padam Shree Rana Moti Singh, father of Rana Virender Singh for
the country and more particularly to the
farmers and down-trodden.
Rana Virender Singh thanked
Capt Amrinder Singh, Chief Minister, Punjab for reposing faith in him and
bestowing upon him the enormous responsibility of serving the people of Punjab
specially the farmers and people living in the rural areas which is the main
task of the Bank. He assured the Chief Minister Punjab and the high dignitaries
present on the occasion that he would discharge his duties with utmost
sincerity, devotion and dedication. He also expressed his gratefulness for
giving him an opportunity to serve his State specially
the farmers.
