Pracheen Kala Kendra organizes its 225th Monthly Baithak Programme

Chandigarh 11th August:- Pracheen Kala Kendra organized its 225th Monthly Baithak Programme here today at its Bhaskar Rao Indoor Auditorium, Sector 35-B, at 6:30 pm onwards when Pune based Eminent Vocalist Pt. Yadavraj Phad and disciple of Legendry Pt. Bhimsen Joshi mesmerized the city audience with his melodious Vocal recital. Kendra’s Chairman Shri S.K. Monga was the Chief Guest of the evening.
Pt. Yadavraj Phad is a renowned vocalist of Hindustani Classical Vocal, Kirana in the Khayal genres. After initial training from Pt. Sadashivrao Yadav   later he groomed by Bharat Ratna Pt. Bhim Sen Joshi., Pt. Yadaraj was and gifted with resonating and soulful voice. He has mastery over almost all the Indian Classical Music e.g. Khayaal, Thumari, Dadara, Gazals, Bhajan, Natya Sangeet etc. With his dedication to music and quality performance, he has won the hearts of music listeners all over India. He composed new Raagas namely Gahini-Kalyan, Nand shree, Rajkans & Uma Ranjini. He also have composed many Bhajans, Abhangas  and his Many CDs & Cassettes are popular in the market.
Endowed with a soulful voice, Yadavraj began his recital with Raga Puriya kalyan.  The opening Bada khayal composition “Howan lagi Sanjh..” was developed with soothingly inserted alap badhat besides scores of well knit sargams and boldly executed taan flourishes. It was followed by a chhota Khayal bandish “Bahut din beete” and a Drut bandish in Rag Bageshri with bols “Ja ja re badra tu ja”.  After this he doled out with Dadra in Pilu “Barsan lagi sawan bundiya” and a bhajan “Jo dekhe so dukhiya baba” amidst thunderous applause. Pt. Yadavraj provided a befitting finale to his recital with a Bhajan in Bhairavi  “Jo bhaje Hari ko Sada” displaying his musical capabilities in a highly impressive manner. His Khayal gayaki revealed his artistic insight and scholarly understanding of the Hindustani idiom.
The excellent accompaniment on Tabla percussionist Avinash Patil added to the success of the concert. Pt. Devendra Verma provided support on Harmonium.  Kendra Registrar Dr. Shobha Koser honored the artists.
