Spruce up The Skills to Meet the Changes in Media Scenario:DIPR

Chandigarh 24th March:- Varun Roojam, DIPR Punjab in the maiden meeting with the officials of Public Relations Department in the Committee Room, GMADA, here today, said that the officials should ensure proper propagation of Government policies and decisions to the grass root level and should "Spruce up their skills" in accordance with the changing media scenario.
Without mincing words, Varun Roojam made it clear that in line with the aspirations of the Government, the officials should aim at delivering the best and should abstain from 'running around' for preferred postings. The system would run "purely on merit" and hard workers would be suitably rewarded.
DIPR directed the officials to adopt austerity measures in all the Government functions to be organized in their districts and exhorted them to adopt all the good old practices of the department which have been the strength of the directorate and weed out all the weaknesses that have over the years crept into the system.
Giving a patient hearing to the queries raised by the district level officials, he assured early rationalization of men and material in order to strengthen the infrastructure of district level offices.
Varun Roojam laid a special stress on developing an efficient feedback system and directed the DPROs to appraise the head office of any resentment towards Government policies or genuine demands of people/ specific organizations/ groups in the areas falling under their jurisdiction.
The meeting was attended by the entire team of PR officials of Punjab including Dr. Senu Duggal  and Opinder Singh Lamba ( both Additional Directors), Surinder Malik, Joint Director, KL Rattu, Harjit Singh Grewal, Dr. Ajit Kanwal Singh, Randeep Singh Ahluwalia (all Deputy Directors), DPROs from all the districts as well as IPROs and APROs from the Head Office.
