By Tricitynews
Chandigarh 08th Feb, 2020:- A unique solo act play 'Drama Queen' was staged at Tagore Theatre, Sector 18 here. The solo act was based on the true-life events of Nisha Luthra, a city-based theatre professional, who is also Co Founder of theatre organisation 'The Narrators'. Nisha herself enacted the solo stage play with aplomb, under the aegis of 'The Narrators' in association with Haryana Tourism.
Nisha Luthra said that she is a lawyer by profession but theatre has always been her passion. Theatre has been a catharsis for her as it gave her the power to remain happy, despite overpowering circumstances which were only leading her to balance out life’s imbalances. In theatre she is living her passion for acting. The reason for the enactment today was to give a message to all people who have dreams and are passionate about certain things, to follow their passion, despite challenges and life's entrapment.
Nisha played out SIX Characters which are a part of her life's journey. She showcased various emotions through a fusion of music, dance and drama in an ensemble choreographed and conceptualised by Nisha herself. The play intrigued with a well-balanced level of love, humour , compassion , sacrifice , tragedies and emotions.
The high point of the act was when Dzenan Smailagic an Irish musician sang to the dexterous accompaniment of his guitar. The musician flew especially from Ireland to give the play a touch of his brilliant voice and music in a live song during the act.
The act was essayed by Nisha and directed by Dr. Sahib Singh, who both beautifully weaved it into a beautiful tale.
Nisha explained that Drama Queen' is neither based on any gender nor a person, rather it is a meek voice of shown by any Individual whether a man or a woman and even sometimes seen in an abstract at different stages of life.
The play was for around 1 hour 15 minutes duration and  touched upon the important issue of 'mental health' which needs to be always positive whatever the circumstances.
Deepak Luthra, Co-Founder of The Narrators and production head, while applauding the play shared that it’s a remarkable odyssey of life of undying passion, which is inspirational.
