EMBASSY OF REPUBLIC OF KOREA SETS UP ITS CONSUL GENERAL OFFICE IN CHANDIGARH

Chandigarh 27th December:- Jagdip Singh, Chairman, Sigma Group of Companies , leading  manufacturer and exporter of automotive parts from the country, has been appointed as the Honorary Consul General  of the Republic of Korea (south Korea ).
The appointment was officially announced in the presence of the Korean Ambassador to India, H.E. Cho Hyun , Honourable Governor of Punjab V B Singh Badnore and other dignitaries.
H.E.Cho Hyun the Korean Ambassador to India said that as an Honorary Consul, Jagdip Singh will work towards further strengthening the collaboration between the two nations; promoting culture, industry & commerce, facilitating investments, educational exchange and enhancing goodwill. The office of the Honorary Consul will also provide limited consular assistance in the states of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh and support the Korean citizens within these states.
H.E.Cho Hyun further said that Republic of Korea has been one of the major and the oldest economic partners of India, by being among the first few countries to invest in the Indian economy post its economic liberalization in the early 1990s. Appointment of Jagdip Singh as Consul General will help towards further strengthening the collaboration between the two nations; promoting culture, industry and commerce, facilitating investments, educational exchange and enhancing goodwill..
Korean ambassador said that Korea's investment in India also recorded a remarkable increase, with more than 4 billion dollars of FDI being invested. As a result, more than 450 Korean companies are currently operating in India and an increasing number of their products are becoming familiar household for Indians. Korean companies are also actively involved in numerous infrastructure projects in India such as highways, subways, and major construction works in power sectors.” Said ambassador
Cho Hyun said that the appointment of Jagdip Singh as Hon Consul general will allow us to expand and deepen our engagement and activities in the states of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal and Union territory Chandigarh. It is our fortune that Jagdip singh is and remains deeply invested to the issues at the core of our bilateral relationships.
Jagdip Singh said that Korea is India's most important trading partner in Asia and our countries share a strategic partnership,  I value my deep professional and cultural  bond with Korea and look forward to further strengthening our ties in the areas of business, education and culture in the prosperous states assigned to me," said beaming newly appointed Hon. Consul General.


Vijay Public Smart School Celebrates its Annual Day Function “Rhythm 2016”

Chandigarh 27th December:-Vijay Public Smart School, Sector 17, Panchkula celebrated its Annual Day function on December 26th, 2016. To mark the milestone, a captivating cultural fiesta “Rhythm 2016” was staged by the students at Tagore Theatre, Chandigarh. The occasion was graced by Mrs. Sujata Rana, District Elementary Education Officer as the revered Chief Guest and Mr. Kulbhushan Sharma, National President of Independent School Alliance, the Guest of Honour for the day.
The programme commenced with lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the Hon’ble Chief Guest followed by a Shiv Vandana. An amalgamation of various culture rich performances, the programme had the talented students of the school presenting enthralling performances of Goan dance, Arabian dance, an English song based on Good Manners, a Play based on Hon’able Prime Minister’s “Swach Bharat Abhiyaan”, a display of colossal skills of Taekwando and many more. The old melodies of bollywood which the students of classes KG and 1st danced to, left everyone present mesmeric and elated. The beautiful rendition of the dance drama based on the epic Ramayana in the traditional way was spellbinding. The grand finale stole the show with brilliant performance  of the students  on Bhangra.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest conveyed her appreciation for the blossoming performances and also for the standards the school has set. She also stressed on the need to impact quality education to the students so that  they could compete with the rest of world.
The guest of honour while praising the students for their wonderful performance also encouraged the student to become an ideal citizen of the country and have a sense of responsibility among them.
The Executive Director Amit Jain presented the Annual Report, highlighting the achievements of the students and the journey of the school so far. He also congratulated the teachers and students for putting up a spectacular show.
Shalini Jain, Principal of the school thanked the Chief Guest and all others present on the occasion. The programme culminated with the National Anthem recited in full valour by each person present.

Silver Jubilee Celebrations of 1991 Batch Celebrated at Yadavindra Public School Mohali

Chandigarh 27th December:-A rush of emotions was witnessed at the campus of Yadavindra Public School Mohali when the Class of 1991 visited their alma mater on the occasion of their Silver Jubilee Celebrations.
In continuation with the precedent, The Class of 1991 descended of the YPS campus, accompanied by their spouses and children. For some it was a “pilgrimage”, for some it was “trip down the memory lane” and for others it was a “flood of Nostalgia”.
The Class of 1991 along with their visited their class rooms and as per the School tradition the Silver Jubilee batch planted a sapling on the campus.The Class of 1991 will be donating to the School a state of art modern Public Address System which will be permanently installed in the open grounds of the School and can withstand the rigors of weather.
Later in the evening the Old Yadavindrians Association, felicitated the Class of 1991 at the Association’s flagship event, the OYA X-travaganza 2016, popularly known as the “Winter Ball”. In the Ball which was held in the evening the Class of 1991 was honoured by the Headmaster of the School, Mr. R.P. Devgan. In addition to the alumni and the present school Faculty the Ball was attended by the former and retired teachers of the School who taught the Class of 1991
At the Ball, The President of the Association, Kushal Pal Singh Mann thanked and felicitated the members of the Alumni for supporting the Association through thick and thin. He also expressed his gratitude and awarded trophies to the Yadavindrians who worked tirelessly to make the just concluded 7th OYA Autocross Motocross and Offroading Event 2016 an astounding success. It was for the first time that the OYA Autocross Motocross and Offroading Event, which is on the Annual Calendar of the the Federation of Motor Sports Club of India (FMSCI) was organised by the Association in house.

Gyandeep Smart School Kids World Clebrates its Annual Cultural Function

Chandigarh 27th December:- Gyandeep Smart School Kids world, Sector 20-C, Chandigarh celebrated its most cherished Annual Cultural Function. The function started with welcome song ‘Ganesha Stuti’ followed by the formal welcome of the Director Principal Madam Mrs. S. Deswal.
Mrs. S. Deswal presented Annual Report and highlighted the academic & Co Curricular Achievements of the School various cultural items, Christmas wishes by pre-nursery students Disco Mix, Haryanvi Dance, Zumba, Malhari & Bhangra & Gidha . Were presented prizes were given to achievers of Academic Sports.
School Principal Mrs Divya & Perents enjoyed the whole celebration and admired the talent of all participants ensiled with the singing of National Anthem.


Citizens Awareness Group organizes Seminar on Financial Inclusion Through Financial Education

Chandigarh 27th December:- Citizens Awareness Group, in collaboration with Panchkula Management Association and Consumers Association Panchkula has organized Workshop on Financial inclusion through Financial education under the aegis of Securities Market Awareness Campaign by SEBI in Panchkula. 24 December is observed as National Consumer Day. This program was organized on Eve of National Consumer Day to educate investors as well as consumers.
Panchkula Mayor Mrs Upinder Kaur graced this occasion by her presence. Information on ‘Consumers rights and problems they face’ was given in the seminar. Many speakers shared their opinions on consumer problems and their solutions.
It is felt that awareness pertaining to the stock market is lacking among investors. A lot of people cannot invest or hesitate to do so and many tend to make wrong decisions due to lack of information. Advising people not invest in a business they do not understand, investors were asked to look for companies with a sound management.
Surinder Verma, Chairman, Citizens Awareness Group Chandigarh, said that consumers face many problems now days. We are here to solve their problems. We get many cases where consumers say that they were fooled by companies. We solve their cases as a mediator and try to avoid going to consumer courts as much as possible.
While emphasizing on Financial Education, He said that you would not buy a color TV before visiting a few dealers and taking advice from some friends. But a rumour might prompt you to buy stocks worth Rs. 2 lacs. So most of the losses occurred in the stock market are a result of hasty decisions, greed and fear. He also exemplified how even educated and high income group investors fail to follow the safeguards while investing in the stock market.
Nishant Shrivastava, assistant manager, National Stock Exchange Ltd said that the presence of market regulator like SEBI and due to safe regulation adopted by various stock exchanges, the market has become far safer for small and medium investors. If investor enters in the market equipped with fundamental knowledge about the company they intend to invest in, they have fairly good chances of making a steady profit. She dwelt upon numerous aspect of the capital market like duties of investors, investor protection guidelines, trading and risk management etc.
PS Anand, General Secretary, Panchkula Management Association said that objective of the program was to educate the citizens about the investment opportunities available in the securities market and apprise them about their rights and obligations while dealing in the financial market.
The program was attended by more than 100 general investors and the queries put forward by them were answered by the Panelists.
