पंजाबी फिल्म "तवीत" की स्टार कास्ट पहुंची चंडीगढ़

निर्देशक सुखबीर सहोता ने पत्रकारों से बातचीत के दौरान बताया कितवीतएक फैमिली ड्रामा है जिसका ताना बाना जमीन-जायदाद के झगड़ों और पारिवारिक रिश्तों को लेकर बुना गया है। आज के माहौल पर आधारित इस फिल्म में प्यार का एहसास भी है और हल्की-फुल्की कॉमेडी भी जो दर्शकों को पसंद आएगी।
संगीत निर्देशक डैवी सिंह ने बताया कि फिल्म में कुल पांच गीत हैं जो फिल्म की थीम को लेकर कंपोज किये गये हैं। इन गीतों को अपनी मधुर आवाज में पेश किया है मशहूर गायक कलाकारों फिरोज खान, नछतर गिल, मास्टर सलीम, जैस्मीन अखतर, शरनजीत कौर और सुखी खान ने। इस फिल्म को जल्द ही रिलीज किया जा रहा है।


Wild Life Week -2017: Students Visit Nepali Forest- Learnt Importance of Wildlife

Chandigarh 07th October:- Wild Life Week -2017 organized at Maharishi Dayanand Public School, Daria, Chandigarh has been completed. Students today visited the Nepali Forest in collaboration with the Environment Department, Chandigarh Administration. The children went there and got detailed information about forests and wildlife from the class teachers in the forest. They observed that the forest is a place of shelter and food for wildlife. Animals here can live a better life. Trees make the environment clean. Fresh and pollution-free air is essential to stay healthy. Hence planting of trees are necessary. Due to urbanization the area of ​​forests is becoming narrow. Wild animals come into the homes of due to cutting of trees. This affects the lives of humans and animals. Students said that forest and wildlife in reality is our wealth. Its protection and enrichment are essential. The children told that they had studied about forests in books, but seeing them experimentally, the feeling of attachment towards forests and wildlife has increased. Animals and birds are our friends. It is all about taking care of them. Teachers on this occasion gave their full guidance.
Principal Dr. Vinod Kumar said that the main purpose of this visit was to make the students aware of the importance of wild animals and forests.

RBI Donates for Thalassaemic Patients

Chandigarh 07th October:- Regional Director, GMs, AGMs and some other officers of Reserve Bank of India visited Thalassaemia Ward, APC, PGI this week in the presence of Arjan Singh, Vice-President and Rajinder Kalra, General Secretary of Thalassaemic Children Welfare Association (TCWA) and donated two computers, 1 printer, 1 microwave and medicines worth Rs. 30,000/- for the use of thalassaemic patients. Regional Director, RBI also enquired about the health of patients by making personal contact with them and appreciated the efforts of TCWA for helping the patients and maintaining the Thalassaemia Ward. Dr. Deepak Bansal, APC, PGI though having very busy schedule was also present and he briefed the visiting officers regarding thalassaemia disease. The RBI Officers have also ensured that every help will be given to the Association in future also. Rajinder Kalra, General Secretary thanks the Regional Director and other officers of RBI for this act of kindness.

PGI Celebrates Fifth Annual Institute Research Day

Chandigarh 07th October:- The Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh celebrated the fifth Annual Institute Research Day on 7th October 2017. Prof MC Misra, Ex-Director AIIMS, New Delhi and presently Vice Chancellor of the Mahatma Gandhi University of Medical Sciences and Technology, Jaipur was the Chief Guest and Prof Anil Koul, Director CSIR-IMTECH was the guest of honor.
The PGIMER, Chandigarh is one of the apex medical institutions involved in medical research since 1963, both nationally and internationally. Since inception, the Institute faculty has published over 20,000 high quality research articles in various national and international journals. Currently, the faculty of PGI publishes more than 1200 research papers every year.
In the Annual Research Day, the PGI faculty showcased their best research papers. Around 190 exemplary research papers were displayed by the faculty members. There was detailed interaction between the PGI faculty and the distinguished guests regarding their published research and the future plan and scope of the research.
Prof Jagat Ram, Director PGI, Prof Rajesh Kumar, Dean (Academics) and Prof Digambar Behera, Dean (Research) introduced the distinguished guests to the gathering. Prof Jagat Ram, Director, PGI spoke about the rich research heritage of the Institute. He also elaborated on various research activities, grants received and collaborations made by the faculty of the Institute in the year gone by.
Prof MC Misra addressed the gathering on a surgeon’s perspective on research and publications. He emphasized the need for teamwork, mentorship and collaboration between different departments and institutes. Prof Anil Koul articulated on the importance of translating basic research to patient care by giving the example of bedaquiline, a novel drug approved for the treatment of tuberculosis. He congratulated the PGI faculty for being able to conduct good research hand in hand with high quality patient care.

Dhandapani, Nidhi Bhatia, Divya Jain; Paramedical- Ashish Jain, Anjali Aggarwal, Balvinder Mohan), Additional Professor (Medicine- Rakesh Kumar, Aman Sharma, Madhu Gupta, Sonu Goel; Surgery- Bhupesh Kumar, Jeetinder Kaur Makkar, Ramandeep Virk; Paramedical- Shalmoli Bhattacharyya, Nusrat Shafiq, Mini P. Singh) and Professor (Medicine- Kushaljit S. Sodhi, Ritesh Agarwal, Sandeep Grover; Surgery- Neerja Bharti, Babita Ghai, Suman Arora; Paramedical- MR Shivaprakash, Jyotdeep Kaur, Kusum Sharma) received awards in this ceremony.
