F & B Brands from Tier One Cities Seasoned with Some Favourites from Chandigarh to Be Part of 'The Travelling Kitchen'

Chandigarh 16th Jan,2019:- India’s first travelling food showcase 'The Travelling  Kitchen-Winter Garden' is all set to kick off in Chandigarh at the plush lawns of the Chandigarh Golf Association(CGA) driving range in Sec 6 here from January 18-20. A press conference was held at The Lalit in IT Park, Chandigarh, where organisers gave media a sneak peek into the delightful offerings at TTK. Curtains were raised on TTK & details given about participation of the trendiest F&B brands from around the country seasoned with some favourites from Chandigarh, with food that's exclusively showcased at The Travelling Kitchen! The festival will curate 16 different cuisines from around India and the tricity area.
Bharat Atwal, Founder of 'The Travelling Kitchen, said that the Fun -Food -Feast Fest will offer lip smacking food, a fabulous line-up of retail & lots of music as renowned musical bands  will take centre stage at TTK. Big brands will coalesce with emerging names to present a spectacle that would be every foodie’s dream. The best names in the Indian culinary circuit are being brought to Chandigarh. He added that we are getting three major Hotel chains of the country with their head chefs to TTK. We will see the Sarovar group of hotels participating with Park Plaza and Hometel. The Lalit's pan Indian fine dining restaurant Baluchi and its panasian restaurant Oko will be there. Fairmont is another brand we are getting. Haryana tourism which has associated with us will be sending its hospitality & tourism students who will put up a stall at the festival.
Some of the respected names of Indian F & B Industry which have confirmed their participation are Anandani Himalaya tea; Anamika Singh, India’s celebrated tea-whisperer, will be present with her wonderful cup of tea to beat the winter chill.  IHOP a chain from NCR serving a wide variety of American diner fare will be there.  Daidokoro by Yuko - a passionate chef will also  be debuting at the festival.  The festival will not only celebrate the well established names of F & B scene of Tier 1 cities but will also display the talent of individual chefs from tricity. Chandigarh based chefs like Aditya Prabhu who is a specialist in coastal food will present their craft. Bhagirathmal , Jaipur is also putting up its fare at TTK.
The great food will be to the accompaniment of  superlative music which will be dished out by some of the country's most followed bands. The festival will opens its doors on Friday the 18th January with 'The Copy Cats', singing the tunes of the renowned & phenomenal International music group - 'Coldplay'. 'Rajasthan Roots', 'The Collective Projekt', 'Shubham Semwal', 'Blue Munch Factory' and  Sanjeeta Bhattacharya will also perform.
The festival will offer authentic cuisines like Pan Asian, Japanese, Goan , Konkani , Rajasthani and many more. A decor themed with recyclable paper is on the anvil. What's more, the food would be affordable and portion sizes good. TTK promises to be a gastronomic delight.



Vodafone Spreads Joy This Makar Sankranti in Haryana

Chandigarh 16th Jan,2019:- This Makar Sankranti, Vodafone has taken an initiative to bring a smile on faces of specially- abled people to share the festive celebrations of Makar Sankranti with them. Keeping with the commitment to share joy, Vodafone under ‘Gift a Smile’ initiative is introducing a new trend of celebrating the festival by sharing.
A donation box will be kept at selected Vodafone stores in Ambala, Bhiwani, Hisar, Jind, Karnal, Sonipat, Rewari, Panipat, Rohtak and Yamunagar between 13th January- 15th January 2019. People can walk-in these stores and generously donate woolens, clothes, toys and gadgets. In return sweets will be distributed among customers. The accumulated items will then be distributed among specially-abled people in collaboration with Sarthak Education Trust.
Talking on the occasion Sanjeev Govil, Business Head, Vodafone Idea,Haryana said that in this current world we have become accustomed to celebrate festivals in very materialistic fashion and leave out on the core value of the festival. What can be a better idea to share the spirit of Makar Sankranti by donating something with people who need it much more than us. Vodafone has always believed in the power of sharing and with this campaign we hope to inculcate the spirit of sharing among people this festive season.

Oil & Gas Conservation Drive ‘Saksham -2019’ Launched

Chandigarh 16th Jan,2019:- To create mass awareness about the need for judicious use and conservation of petroleum products, oil industry under the aegis of Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas and Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA) is organizing an oil and gas conservation month from 16th January to 15th February, 2019. The campaign called ‘Saksham 2019’ (Sanrakshan Kshamata Mahotsav) was inaugurated at Tagore Theatre here today by CSR Reddy (IPS), DGP-Investigation, Lokpal, Govt of Punjab.
CSR  Reddy inaugurated the awareness drive at a colourful programme by releasing balloons and flagging off a Fuel Awareness Van, which will travel across the length of the state of Punjab with conservation messages and relevant literature. He appreciated the efforts of PSU Oil & Gas Companies in spreading the message of conservation of precious petroleum products. He further stressed upon the need for conservation of natural resources and thereby environment to ensure a better future for the coming generations.
                                        
Sandeep Jain, State Level Coordinator for Oil Industry in Punjab and Chief General Manager, Indian Oil Corporation Limited, Punjab, J&K and Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh, in his welcome address outlined the various activities carried out by Oil Industry towards oil and gas conservation in association with PCRA. He also highlighted the constant endeavours of the oil companies in improving the quality of fuels and lubricating oils, thereby enabling the Indian consumers to to save fuel and the environment by reducing fuel emissions.
Gagandeep Singh Sodhi, State Level Coordinator for oil industry at UT Chandigarh and Deputy General Manager, Hindustan Petroleum Corp. Ltd.said that by adopting simple tips in our day to day life, one can achieve judicious utilization of available resources. Oil companies in India are actively engaged and are investing in renewable and cleaner sources of energy like bio-fuels, wind energy, solar energy etc.
Conservation tips were given by Mr Sanjeev Verma, Additional Director, PCRA. A short play on conservation was presented by Samwad Group. Various activities with the theme “Indhan Sanrakshan Ki Zimmedary, Jan Gan Ki Bhagidari” are planned for housewives, school children, drivers, mechanics, industrial and agricultural users as well as general public. Mass awareness campaigns will be held by PSU oil companies in Punjab during the month.




Sony SAB’s Tenali Rama Completes 400 Episodes Milestone

Having impressed viewers with intelligence and wit demonstrated by Rama (Krishna Bharadwaj) and the comically evil intentions of Tathacharya (Pankaj Berry), the show continues to be a favorite amongst its audience. The characters of this show have managed to find a space in the hearts and minds of viewers, right from kids to adults.
The cast of Tenali Rama celebrated this joyous occasion with a celebratory event, thanking viewers for their endless support and love.
Krishna Bharadwaj, playing the titular role of Rama said that the success of this show is because of our lovely audience who motivate us to work harder every day. In the coming weeks, viewers will see Rama convincing Krishnadevaraya to build a new Gurukul in Vijayanagar, due to Gundappa’s urge to study. While the king agrees, Tathacharya makes it difficult for Gundappa to join the Gurukul by putting forward a tough entrance exam for the selection of only the meritorious Raajputras. To everyone’s surprise, Gundappa passes the exam; however the King comes up with another test for him to prove his eligibility.




Realme Offline Sales Extend to 150 Cities in 2019: Partners with 20, 000 Real Partners

Chandigarh 16th Jan,2019:- Realme, the No. 1 emerging smartphone brand in India, today announced to expand the offline sales to 150 cities in the forthcoming year. The young brand will start with top cities of the country, gradually moving towards 150 cities phase by phase. The Proud to be Young” brand has partnered with offline retailers which will be known as Real Partners and will give a value addition to customer experience. 
Realme will start with ten cities across the country in January 2019, eventually adding 50 cities every quarter. With the city expansion the smartphone brand will establish 20,000 outlets throughout the country. The retail outlets will have all the models of that the smartphone brand has launched.

He shared further that in Chandigarh, there will be 60 top Real Partners (multi brand retail outlets) along with 300 Real Partners across Punjab in January 2019. Going forward the brand targets to establish 500 stores in the entire Punjab & Chandigarh region by end of March 2019. Initially the brand will focus on Chandigarh Tri-city (Chandigarh, Mohali, Panchkula), with top 45 towns of 22 districts of Punjab, eventually covering the entire region by end of March 2019.  M/s Akash Dhingra Sales Pvt. Limited, a company floated by Mr. Harish Dhingra in 2014 will be the priority partner with Realme to run a large number of stores in the region. 
Previously, Realme got in to an exclusive partnership with Reliance stores for offline sales of the products. Realme smartphones have been getting sold at more than 130 cities across 1300+ Reliance Digital & My Jio stores. The brand has been successfully performing on e-commerce platforms from May 2018. Realme has secured the position of No. 1 Emerging brand in the country as quoted by CMR and according to Counterpoint, Realme was No.3 in overall market share during Diwali, and specifically No.2 in online sales. Sports Medicine Emerging as A Specialty in North India: Experts

Chandigarh 16th Jan,2019:- Keeping in mind how Sports Medicine is emerging as a specialty which has a huge demand in North India, Fortis Hospital here organised the first Chandigarh Sports Medicine Course (CSMC). The objective behind was to discuss various sports injuries, their treatment and to work out solutions to the fact how Indian athletes suffer because they do not have access to world-class healthcare.
Dr. Manit Arora, an Australian Consultant Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Surgeon at Fortis Mohali, conducted the said course here today in association with Indian Medical Association (IMA) and International Society for Knowledge for Surgeons on Arthroscopy and Arthroplasty (ISKSAA).             
This course was attended by stalwarts from the field of Orthopaedics and Key Sports Medicine leaders in the area. The course was enlightening for those who are working in this field, and surgical and non-surgical aspect of care was discussed in detail.
45 delegates including top PGI doctors also attended this course. The speakers from different disciplines addressed all the aspects involved in prevention of sports injuries. The course would next year be conducted in collaboration with PGI, Chandigarh, involving several doctors from PGI.
It may be recalled that Fortis Hospital, Mohali had last year announced the first dedicated “Sports injury clinic” in North India in collaboration with Abhinav Bindra. It is entirely dedicated to athletes and injuries related to sports.  
Dr. Manit Arora, said that a number of sports injuries are often reported and we are providing Olympic level care to the general population, and also providing world-class facilities for keyhole Orthopaedic surgery and rehabilitation for shoulder, hip, knee and back problems, along with soft tissue injuries. During the course he also spoke on recent developments in knee shoulder and soft tissue surgeries for sports injuries.
He further said that it is not enough to play a sport but your body should be prepared for that sport's demand and this is where exercise comes in. Mental conditioning is the most important and many injuries can be avoided if your mind is focused. He highlighted the importance of need of sports medicine physician in various sports training centre at district/ state level.
He also spoke on Arthroscopy and its role in sports injuries. He shared that with arthroscopic procedures patients recover faster resulting in fast rehabilitation and quick return to sports. It has helped sportspersons to save their carriers which otherwise would have ended abruptly 
Hands on workshops were also a part of the course. These included biomechanics, kinesiology taping, bracing, intra-articular injection in the knee and shoulder, MRI imaging, and model demonstration of diagnostic knee arthroscopy.
Dr. Manan Vora spoke on how injuries can be prevented in sports, while Dr. Abhishek Prasad spoke on imaging in Sports Medicine. Dr. Bhushan Sabnis deliberated on the recent developments in knee surgeries for sports injuries.
