Chandigarh 26th September:- As many as 70 students undergoing various paramedical courses
attended a day long ‘scientific conference’ at Tech Mahindra SMART Academy for
Healthcare Mohali on Thursday. The conference was an initiative of Tech
Mahindra Foundation, the CSR wing of Tech Mahindra Ltd.
The students from the
courses including cardiac care, technician course and operation theatre
technician course took part in the conference.
Dr. Virendar Sarwal,
Director and Head of Department of CTVS, at Ojas Super Speciality
Hospital, Panchkula was the keynote speaker at the conference.
The conference comprised
on detailed discussions on the role of temporary and permanent pacemakers
and the topics related to the health of the heart including cardiac
disorders due to lifestyle, diet, how to reduce heart diseases
by exercise and impact of hypertension on the heart.
Speaking on the occasion,
Ritu Nag, Director, of the Academy said that as budding paramedics our students
need to be exposed to a variety of technical sessions that enhance the already
existing skills that we develop in them. The importance of this session is
paramount considering that a significant number of Indians are suffering from
heart ailments of all kinds, and awareness is the key to prevention.
