Mercedes-Benz Launches the First-of-Its-Kind ‘Service on Wheels’: Initiative in the Luxury Car Segment

Chandigarh 20th July:- India’s largest luxury car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz today announced the launch of yet another innovative customer service offering for its customers called ‘Service on Wheels’. This novel initiative comprises a service truck equipped with all tools along with professional service personnel to attend tocustomer cars, especially in Tier 2and tier 3cities where Mercedes-Benz doesn’t have a direct presence. On being notified, a mobile service truck will visit the customer’s area and carry out the inspection, repairs and service of the car, adding great value and convenience to the customers.This initiative is part of Mercedes-Benz’s hugely popular service differentiation strategy under the ‘My Mercedes, My Service’ umbrella, launched in July 2016.
‘Service on Wheels’ is a first-of-its-kind initiative in the Indian luxury car industry, which is highly customer-centric and tailor-made for the Indian market. This concept is a result of the Business Innovation project which is conceptualized by the employees of Mercedes-Benz India. It was launched by Roland Folger, Managing Director & CEO and Santosh Iyer, Vice President-Customer Service, Retail Training and Corporate Affairs, Mercedes-Benz India in the key market of Amritsar today.The Phase I of‘Service on Wheels’ will travel to 15 different Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets undertaking service related requirements of customers in the remaining months of the 2018.
On the introduction of this customer service initiative, Roland Folger, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India said that with our ‘Go to Customer’ strategy we keep exploring novel ways to make the ownership experience of a Mercedes-Benz delightful. Honda Cars India Launches New Honda Jazz 2018

FICCI Concludes Round Table on Legal Metrology Rules for e-commerce Industry

Chandigarh 20th July:- The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry organized a round table to discuss the challenges faced in the implementation and enforcement of the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Amendment Rules, 2017 (LM Rules), in respect of the e-commerce sector, in Lucknow recently.
Industry participants affirmed that regulation of e-commerce companies under the LM rules was a move in the right direction for protection of consumer interest.
Participants concluded that e-commerce marketplace has to be recognized as an Intermediary under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and be exempt from any liability arising out of third party information, data or link available on the website as long as it complies with the IT Rules and Guidelines and  e- commerce marketplace can be made liable under the LM Rules only in the following circumstances
Speaking on the occasion, B.N. Dixit, Director (Legal Metrology) Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution (MoCA) said that he welcomes industry’s efforts in organizing and participating in these sessions which will help in effective implementation of the law and removing ambiguities in the interest of consumers.

DCB Bank Announces First Quarter FY-2019 Results

Chandigarh 20th July:- The Board of Directors of DCB Bank Ltd. (BSE: 532772; NSE: DCB) at its meeting in Mumbai on July 14, 2018, took on record the limited reviewed financial results of the first quarter (Q1 FY 2019).
The Bank’s Profit After Tax was at INR 70 Cr. in Q1 FY 2019 as against INR 65 Cr. in Q1 FY 2018. Profit Before Tax was at INR 108 Cr. in Q1FY 2019 a stable growth as against INR 101 Cr. in Q1 FY 2018.Operating Profit of INR 141 Cr. over INR 136 Cr. for the same period as compared to last year. The Bank earned Net Interest Income of INR 273 Cr. as against INR 233 Cr. for the same period as compared to last year. Non-Interest Income of INR 83 Cr. against INR 86 Cr. for the same period as compared to last year. Q1 FY 2019 included onetime Treasury gain of Rs. 10 Cr. as against Rs. 21 Cr. in Q1 FY 2018. Net Advances grew to INR 21,243 Cr. as on June 30, 2018 from INR 16,266 Cr. as on June 30, 2017 a growth rate of 31%. As on June 30, 2018, the Bank grew Deposits by 31% to INR 25,032 Cr. Retail CASA & Retail Term Deposits continued to provide a stable resource base to the Bank. Retail Deposits (including Agri and Inclusive Banking) were 75% of Total Deposits. CASA ratio stood at 24.63% as on June 30, 2018 as against 26.85% as on June 30, 2017, with Savings Accounts year on year growth rate of 32%. Net Interest Margin for Q1 FY 2019 stands at 3.90% as against 4.23% for Q1 FY 2018 and 4.09% for Q4 FY2018. Gross NPA ratio stood at 1.86% as on June 30, 2018 as compared to 1.74% as on June 30, 2017. Net NPA ratio remained at 0.72% as on June 30, 2018 as compared to 0.92% as on June 30, 2017. Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) was at 15.55% as on June 30, 2018 with Tier I at 12.02% and Tier II at 3.53% as per Basel III norms.
As of June 30, 2018 the Net Restructured Standard Advances was approximately INR 31 Cr comprising of 6 accounts.
The Bank’s branch network increased to 323 branches as on June 30, 2018.
Speaking about the performance  Murali M. Natrajan, Managing Director & CEO said that we have been able to achieve the envisaged growth from the branch expansion programme. Margins are under pressure especially in Mortgage and Corporate Loan book. We continue to be watchful of NPAs.

PGI Organizes Seminar on ""Raising Public Awareness Among Various Stakeholder Regarding Importance of Prevention and Management of Birth Defects and Release of a Booklet"

Chandigarh 20th July:- The seminar was organized with the objective of spreading awareness regarding prevention and management of birth defects. Dr.Neelam Aggarwal, Professor, Department of OBG, PGIMER was Organising Secretary of this Seminar. Dr. Amarjeet Singh, Professor, Department of Community Medicine, PGIMER and Dr. Alka, Research Scholar, Centre for Public Health Panjab University were Convener and Co-convener of the seminar respectively. This seminar was linked with and based on Dr Alka’s PhD thesis work. A booklet has been developed by her in English and Hindi as an information material for General Public  to facilitate prevention and management of birth defects. This booklet would help those who are planning pregnancy and have a family history of birth defects or a previous history of multiple abortion or still birth. Booklet was released by Ex-HOD, Dr. Lakhbir Dhaliwal, OBG Department, PGI, Chandigarh.
Experts from PGIMER, Panjab University etc. shared their experiences. Dr.Shobhna from VMMC, Safdarjung, Dr.Inusha Panigrahi from Advanced Pediatrics centre, PGI shared their experiences regarding problems faced by parents having children with birth defects. Mrs. Bhwana Tyal, Director, Sadhna Society vocational training institute for mentally handicapped shared her experiences with Special Children. This was followed by performances by special children from Sadhna Society. Approximately 100 participants from OBG department, School of Public Health, and NINE, PGIMER, Centre for Public Health, Panjab University, Chitkara Nursing College, Rayat Bahara Nursing College, Sadhna Society NGO, Chandigarh etc. attended the seminar. Lectures were followed by interactive discussion with the audience. 
A special feature of the seminar was a presentation by Dr Meghna Sharma and Siddharth Angrish, from www.Jiyyo.com. They highlighted how an app based e-referral can facilitate diagnosis, early detection and management of congenital disorders and genetic diseases.
Dr Risha presented an interesting quiz on this subject to the audience, for which prizes were given.

Rohtak 20th July:- पंचकूला के मोरनी में हुए सामूहिक दुषकर्म की घटना की कड़े शब्दों में निंदा करते हुए आम आदमी पार्टी के प्रदेशाध्यक्ष नवीन जयहिंद ने प्रदेश सरकार को कटघरे में खड़ा करते हुए कहा है कि मोरनी की घटना ने हरियाणा सरकार की कार्यप्रणाली पर सवालिया निशान खड़ा कर दिया है। अब मुख्यमंत्री मनोहरलाल खट्टर बताएं कि वह कितने लोगों की उंगली काटेंगे। क्योंकि मोरनी की घटना में सीधे तौर पर पुलिस विभाग सवालों के घेरे में है।
खट्टर सरकार पर हरियाणा को रेप की राजधानी बनाने का आरोप लगाते हुए नवीन जयहिंद ने कहा कि यह सरकारी संरक्षण में हुई घटना है। मोरनी में चलने वाले गैस्ट हाउस सभी नियमों की धज्जियां उड़ाकर पुलिस की मिलीभुगत के साथ चल रहे हैं और सरकार चुप है। मोरनी में हुई घटना ने साफ कर दिया है कि हरियाणा की मनोहर सरकार महिलाओं की सुरक्षा करने में पूरी तरह से फेल हुई है। मात्र दो पुलिसकर्मी सस्पेंड करने से खट्टर सरकार अपना पल्ला नही झाड सकती| गृह विभाग का मुखिया होने के नाते मुख्यमंत्री मनोहर लाल को बिना किसी देरी के इस्तीफा देना चाहिए |
