‘Me Time with Doraemon’ Kicks off at VR Punjab

Mohali 22nd July:- VR Punjab kick started ‘Me Time with Doraemon’ yesterday. Ongoing till Sunday, July 21 from 1 to 9 pm the event has been specially curated for children giving them an opportunity to meet their favourite character Doraemon.
The unique campaign received an overwhelming response, where in a large number of kids thronged to meet their favourite cartoon characters from the iconic cartoon series Doraemon , live. Apart from the ‘Meet and Greet’ with their favourite cartoon character Doraemon other characters from the series like Nobita, Shizuka, Suneo & Gian were also in attendance, interacting with children. The activity offers something for everyone. Other myriad fun activities include 'Aao karen Doraemon ki khoj', a special fun zone area amongst others.
It was a dream come true for a 9 year old Shreya, who participated in ‘Me Time with Doraemon’ she said that Doraemon is her favourite cartoon character because he always helps his friends by giving them gadgets according to the situation. Her favourite Doraemon gadgets are bamboo copter & anywhere door. Her dream came true to meet Doraemon just because of VR Punjab.
Santosh, father of a child who participated in the campaign said that his child is a big fan of Doraemon and he got a chance to meet Doraemon. His child was asking him to take him out on vacations, but because of his work load he didn’t find time. But because of the event his child is more than satisfied.
Kids are continuing to have a blast by participating in the ‘Meet & Greet’ with Doraemon and are also taking home exciting Doraemon merchandise. The activity is providing a pretty picture, by children wanting to shake hands with Doraemon and parents gloriously taking pictures to capture the moment for eternity.

Sood Sabha organizes Mango Mela

Chandigarh 22nd July:- Sood Sabha Chandigarh organized Mango Mela at Sood Bhawan, Sector 44A , Chandigarh on Sunday the 21st  July 2019. More than 100 Sood families from tri-city relished and enjoyed different varieties of delicious Mangoes. The families also enjoyed Tambola during the event. Umesh Sood, President and Ashwani sood, General Secretary addresses the Sood Biradari regarding the  importance of our traditions.
Mango eating competition for senior citizens, ladies and kids was a star attraction.

Geo Heritage Awareness Walk Held at Govt Museum

Chandigarh 22nd July:- Earth Science Centre (ESC), in association with Save the Himalayas Foundation (SHF) and Walkaround India, celebrated Geo Heritage Day at Govt Museum, Chandigarh and organized a Geo Heritage Walk to create awareness about the need to protect geo heritage sites.
Dr Ritesh Arya, Geo Heritage Expert and founder of ESC, Himachal Pradesh, said that 4.6 billion years of Geoheritage of the earth’s History  and its creatures is well preserved in the rocks. Chance discovery of these rocks leads to better understanding of our geological past, it’s environment and paleo climatic conditions prevalent at the time of its existence at that point of time.
Narvijay Yadav, General Secretary, SHF – Chandigarh Chapter, said that geological features created by volcanism, meteoritic impact and elevation of Himalayas due to tectonic collision, climatic changes in nature and its impact in shaping the evolution and extinction of species  since its birth are all documented in the rocks . These sites once discovered and  developed  need to be preserved and protected so that the geoheritage information can be passed on to the future generations.
PC Sharma, Officer Incharge, Govt Museum & Art Gallery, Chandigarh explained about the precious rocks displayed at the Govt Museum. Dr Avita Khawas, Director, Walkaround India, guided the children at the museum.
Dr Arya, Guinness World Record holder for drilling highest borewell in the world, further said that but  geoheritage and its preservation  has been a neglected feature in the conservation landscape of India.In India, there is little realization of the significance of our geological heritage outside academia and the GSI. There is a need to develop and conserve these geological identities recognizing and understanding the scientific value of the features and landforms. Today in absence of any law for the protection of the geoheritage sites the valuable information contained in them is lost. Fossil sites mineral sites tectonic sites geomorhpolocal sites  once discovered and not noted or preserved by the authorities are lost to the construction activities of building.
Also present on the occasion were, Amit Sharma, the ‘walking man’ who walks 50,000 steps everyday, Satvinder Pal Singh, geo tourist and children from Vivek High School.

Seminar on ‘Pursuing MBA in India & Abroad’ Held

Chandigarh 22nd July:- Representatives from ISB, Schulich School of Business, GMAC and Jamboree gathered in a city hotel Saturday night to share their views during a seminar on ‘pursuing an MBA in India & Abroad’.
The seminar was organised by Jamboree an overseas education solution provider for the students and MBA aspirants who are looking at doing an MBA degree and other management programs.
The event started with a presentation on overseas education options by Pranav Gupta, director Jamboree and a founder trustee of Ashoka University and Plaksha University as well.
In his speech he laid special emphasis on how the Indian economy was poised to grow and the tremendous opportunities which would be available to professionals who had done their MBA combining it with technology. Further he also emphasised on the development of skills such as leadership, writing and speaking.
Kirthi Srivastav from the Schulich School of Business a leading business school from the University of York in Canada spoke about the strong pedigree of the business school and the interesting combination and flexibility in programs which were on offer at both their campuses in India and Canada.
Karan Narang from the Indian School of Business talked about what the Indian School Business looks at in the profile of a potential student. He shared information in regard to the application deadlines, number of years of work experience required and statistics in regard to student placement etc.
Aseem Suri, and alumnus of Jamboree and a recipient of 740 in GMAT was specially invited to share his journey with the students in seminar.
He said , whilst work experience was a mandate, it had to be of high quality. He gave important tips to the students on how to identify the correct B-Schools to apply to.
Sehar Khanna the South Asia representative of GMAC provided a good insight into the GMAT test and also provided some good tips on how to prepare for the GMAT Test taking assistance from their official website.

जनकल्याणकारी योजनाओं से जनता को अवगत करने हेतु जागरूकता शिविर आयोजित

Chandigarh 22nd July:- प्रधानमंत्री जनकल्याणकारी योजना प्रचार प्रसार अभियान चंडीगढ़ टीम द्वारा रविवार को सेक्टर-22 चंडीगढ़ में एक जागरूकता शिविर का आयोजन किया गया जिसमें जनता को प्रधानमंत्री कल्याणकारी योजनाओं से अवगत किया गया। किरण सिनेमा के सामने लगाए गए इस शिविर में 100 से अधिक लोगों ने हिस्सा लिया योजनाओं में आने वाली समस्याओं के बारे में सूचना दी। 
चंडीगढ़ टीम के अध्यक्ष रितेश माहेश्वरी ने बताया कि हमने यह शिविर लोगों को जागरूक करने के लिए आयोजित किया है। लोग हमारे पास समस्याएं लेकर पहुंचे उससे हम बहुत खुश हैं कि हम उनकी सहायता करने में सफल हुए हैं। 
उन्होंने बताया कि मुद्रा योजना, जन-धन योजना आयुष्मान योजना पर लोगों को विस्तार से जानकारी दी गई। उन्होंने बताया कि लोगों ने हमसे योजनाओं को लेकर काफी सवाल किए जिनका हमारी टीम ने विस्तार से जवाब दिया। अधिकतर लोगों को आयुष्मान योजना में कार्ड नहीं बन पाने की समस्या रही है। उसके लिए हमारी टीम जल्द ही कैम्प लगाएगी और लोगों के कार्ड बनवा कर दिए जाएंगे। 
इसके साथ ही बहुत से लोग ऐसे थे जिनको जन-धन योजना में बैंक से लोन लेने में समस्याओं का सामना करना पड़ता है। उसके लिए टीम ने लोगों को लोन लेने की पूरी प्रक्रिया बताई इसके बाद भी समस्या आने पर टीम से संपर्क करने के लिए कहा। 
इस जागरूकता शिविर को सफल बनाने के लिए चंडीगढ़ टीम उपाध्यक्ष अशोक कुमार, मीडिया प्रभारी धीरेंद्र प्रताप दुबे, महिला प्रधान प्रभा शारदा, महिला महामंत्री दमनदीप कौर, आईटी हेड प्रशांत दीवान के साथ अरूण टेक चंद सैनी आदि ने भी अपना योगदान दिया।
