Dev Samaj College of Education Holds its '36th Annual Sports Meet

Chandigarh 11^th Feb, 2020:- Dev Samaj College of Education, Sector 36 B, Chandigarh organised its '36th Annual Sports Meet' here at the sports ground of I S Dev Samaj Senior Secondary School, Sector 21.

Preeti of B.Ed. 2nd year was declared 'Best athlete of the year', as she claimed gold in the 100 m race, followed by a top finish in 4 X 50 m relay and sack races. She also clinched the 2nd position in the shot put and obstacle race events.

Manju of B.Ed. 2nd year was adjudged the 'Best sports person of the year.' Manju won the first position in 50 m race and came third in 100 m race.

In 100 m race Preeti, B.Ed. 2^nd year won the gold, while Preeti and Manju of the same batch settled with silver and bronze respectively. In the 4 x 50 m relay race Preeti, Sangeeta, Nitu and Priyanka (B.Ed. 2^nd year) clinched the gold, while Suruchi, Harmanpreet, Udita, Nitu (B.Ed. 1^st year) stood 2^nd. Mrigna (B.Ed. 1^st year) clinched the gold in the shot put event. Preeti (B.Ed. 2^nd year) and Usha (B.Ed. 2^nd year), settled at 2^nd and 3^rd positions respectively.

In the tug of war, B.Ed. 2nd year, Section A & B were declared 1st and 2nd respectively. In slow cycling race event, Muskan (B.Ed. 1st year) bagged the gold, while Suruchi and Neetu of the same batches were declared 2nd and 3rd respectively.

The prize distribution ceremony was graced by Dr. Parminder Singh – Director, Sports Department, Panjab University, Chandigarh, who encouraged the students to participate in athletics and sports to enrich their lives with the benefits of physical activities.

Dr. Agnese Dhillon, Principal, DSCE 36 B, Chandigarh articulated the significance of Sports in students' life. She stated that winning or losing in sports is not important but the happiness originating from participation in sports is a highly cherished trophy.  

Special fun activities for faculty members, non-teaching staff and supporting staff were also conducted. 

12th Tribal Youth Exchange Programme Concludes

Chandigarh 11^th Feb, 2020:- The 12th Tribal Youth Exchange Programme concluded yesterday at Indira Holiday Home, Sector 24. The seven-day programme was conducted by Nehru Yuva Kendra Chandigarh, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, in collaboration with Ministry of Home Affairs from 4th Feb to 10th Feb. Around 220 tribal youth from the LWE districts of the states of Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand participated in the one-week programme in a number of activities related to youth development like Swatchh Bharat Abhiyan, tree plantation, visits to educational and historical institutes.

On 4th Feb 2020, the Hon. Mayor of Chandigarh Raj Bala inaugurated the programme and wished the students a fruitful stay in the city.  The tribal youth travelled around the city beautiful, witnessing the scenic beauty of Sukhna Lake, Rock Garden, Rose Garden etc. They also got a chance to be a part of the 15th TFT Winter Theatre Festival, 2020 at Bal Bhawan. The youth got a chance to interact with V.P. Singh Badnor, Governor of Punjab and Administrator of Chandigarh. Other dignitaries of Chandigarh who graced the 7 day event included T.C.Nautiyal, IFS, conservator of forest, Harjinder kaur, Former Mayor, Arun Sood, Former Mayor , Councilor etc.

The programme was very successful in increasing the exposure and knowledge of the Tribal youth. Rakesh Popli, Director Tourist, the chief guest of the closing ceremony on 09th February encouraged the youth to study further and never lose hope.

Dr Bedi Technique Presented at Conf of Cardio-Vascular Asso

Mohali 11^th Feb, 2020:- An innovative surgical technique developed by Dr. Harinder Singh Bedi a local senior heart surgeon has been presented  at the 66th annual conference of Indian Association of Cardio Vascular & Thoracic Surgeons at Ahmedabad.
The technique was presented before eminent national and international surgeons. After rigorous peer review, the technique was approved and named as ‘Bedi- internal mammary artery (IMA) Buttress’ technique.

Giving information about this new technique , Dr Bedi director of cardio vascular endovascular & thoracic sciences at Ivy Hospital, Mohali said on Tuesday said that the incidence of tuberculosis and lung cancer are quite high in South Asia. Resection is necessary in early cases of lung cancer to aim for a total cure of the cancer as well as in advanced cases of Pulmonary Tuberculosis i.e. TB of lungs.

Dr Bedi who is also a founder president and patron of Association of North Zone Cardio Thoracic & Vascular Surgeons further said that during surgery for lung cancer and TB,  the diseased portion of lung may need to be removed. This is called a lobectomy or a pneumonectomy. After removal of the lung portion the airway tube (bronchus) has to be repaired.

There are numerous ways to do this , but complication of leakage with the formation of a potentially fatal broncho-pleural fistula (BPF) is very difficult to treat. The 5-10% cases of lung resection surgeries can be complicated by the formation of a BPF, which is a potentially fatal condition.

In order to avoid this complication after lung resection, Dr. Bedi devised an innovative technique wherein he used the internal mammary artery, an artery of the chest wall usually used in bypass surgery, to provide a vascular flap for covering the bronchial stump remaining after lung resection.

He further informed that IMA gives an excellent vascular cover to the bronchial stump and helps in preventing the formation of a broncho-pleural fistula.

He said that he recommend this technique in all cases of lung resection as the IMA is easily available and its use is not associated with any side effects. This technique prevents the dreaded complication of a BPF after lung surgery without any additional cost. No special instruments are required for performing this technique.

Meanwhile Dr. Bedi pioneering work in beating heart bypass surgery has helped him to devise this new method in thoracic surgery.  He is already a holder of 3 Limca World Records for heart and vascular surgery techniques developed by him including the method of total arterial multi-vessel beating heart surgery.

वाल्मीकि समाज 13 फरवरी को निगम कार्यालय का करेगा घेराव: इंसाफ न मिलने तक जारी रहेगा रोष प्रदर्शन

Chandigarh 11^th Feb, 2020:- चंडीगढ़ नगर निगम के पूर्व मेयर राजेश कालिया ने अपने पद का फायदा उठाते हुए निजी रंजिश के चलते निगम कमिश्नर के के यादव की सहायता से गुरचरण सिंह को न केवल 68 लाख रुपये का नोटिस जारी किया, बल्कि नौकरी से भी निकलवा दिया। गुरचरण सिंह के साथ ऐसा कदम उठाना राजेश कालिया की बौखलाहट का नतीजा है। ये कहना है कंवर पाल गहलोत, अध्यक्ष संघर्ष समिति चंडीगढ़ का।

चंडीगढ़ प्रेस क्लब में आज आयोजित पत्रकार वार्ता में संघर्ष समिति चंडीगढ़ के अध्यक्ष कंवर पाल गहलोत ने बताया कि समिति  ने चेयरमैन,राष्ट्रीय अनुसूचित जाति आयोग  को पत्र लिख कर गुरचरण सिंह को 68 लाख रुपए का नगर निगम चंडीगढ़ द्वारा नोटिस व उसे नौकरी से निकाले जाने के मामले में हसतक्षेप करने का अनुरोध किया है और अपील की है कि के के यादव कमिश्नर नगर निगम को आदेश दे कि भगवान वाल्मीकि प्रगट उत्सव पर लगे होर्डिंग्स के कारण गुरचरन सिंह को दिया 68 लाख का नोटिस तुरंत वापिस ले और तुरन्त प्रभाव से उसको नौकरी पर बहाल करे।

उललेखनीय हैं कि उपरोक्त नोटिस को लेकर वाल्मीकि समाज ने निदेशक राष्ट्रीय अनुसूचित जाति आयोग चंडीगढ़ को शिकायत की थी, कि  यह नोटिस वापिस लिया जाए। आयोग ने दिनांक 09-01-2020 को पत्र लिख कर नगर निगम से पूछा था कि पिछले तीन साल में कितने धार्मिक ओर सामाजिक आयोजनों में लगे होर्डिंग्स पर जुर्माना लगाया गया। इसका विवरण आयोग को देकर बताया जाए की गुचरण सिंह को ही ऎसा नोटिस क्यों भेजा गया। इसके बाद आयोग ने 27-01-2020 को रिमेंडर भेज कर इस मामले में की गई कार्रवाई की रिपोर्ट मागी थी। लेकिन आज तक नगर निगम ने आयोग को कोई जवाब न दे कर आयोग के पत्रों की अवेलना की गई। इससे ये प्रमाणित होता है कि नगर निगम कमिश्नर के के यादव ओर तत्कालीन मेयर राजेश कालिया जान बूझ कर मामले को लटकाने की कोशिश कर रहे हैं। ताकि गुरचरण सिंह व उसके परिवार को मानसिक तौर पर प्रताड़ित किया जाए।

कंवर पाल गहलोत ने आगे कहा कि वाल्मीकि समाज ने संघर्ष को आगे बढ़ाते हुए निर्णय लिया है कि 13-02-2020 को भारतीय मजदूर संघ व आल कांट्रेकचल कर्मचारी संघ द्वारा आयोजित नगर निगम चंडीगढ़ का घेराव में शामिल होगा। क्योंकि इन संगठनों  ने भी गुरचरण सिंह को दिए गए नोटिस को रद करने और उसकी नौकरी बहाल करने की माग की थी। जिस पर नगर निगम ने कोई निर्णय नहीं लिया । जिसे लेकर वाल्मीकि समाज एवम् सभी कर्मचारियों में असंतोष हैं। उन्होंने बताया कि जब तक उन्हें इंसाफ नही मिलता, ये रोष प्रदर्शन ऐसे ही जारी रहेगा और ऐसे ही पुतले फूंके जाते रहेंगे।

कंवर पाल गहलोत के इलावा कुलदीप ढिंलोढ (टिटा), धर्मगुरु महेंद्र भगत, राजिंदर मकवाना, सुभाष तमोली, राजू कागरा और समय सिंह भी इस अवसर मौजूद थे।

एंजेल्स प्लेवे स्कूल में डेंटल चेकअप कैम्प आयोजित

Chandigarh 11^th Feb, 2020:- मनीमाजरा के एंजेल्स प्लेवे स्कूल में आज कोलगेट की ओर से डेंटल चेकअप कैम्प का आयोजन किया गया। जिसमें स्कूल के नन्हे बच्चों के दांतों की जांच की गई और उन्हें दांतों की सही देखभाल की जानकारी दी गयी।

स्कूल की प्रिंसिपल अमनप्रीत कौशल ने बताया कि स्कूल में आज कोलगेट की तरफ से डेंटल चेकअप कैम्प का आयोजन किया गया, जिसमे कोलगेट के डॉक्टर मोना अग्रवाल की टीम ने बच्चों के दांतों कि जाँच की और उन्हें दांतों की सुरक्षा से संबंधित "कीप इंडिया स्माइलिंग किट" नामक किताब भेंट की। इसके अलावा बच्चों को एक एक टूथब्रश और कोलगेट टूथपेस्ट भी बांटा गया।

फिल्म निर्माता बोकाड़िया ने पंजाबी फिल्म इंडस्ट्री में पंजाबी फिल्म ‘मेरी वोहटी दा विआह’ के साथ नई शुरुआत की

Chandigarh 11^th Feb, 2020:- बॉलीवुड के दिग्गज निर्माता-निर्देशक केसी बोकाडिया, जिन्होंने फिल्मी दुनिया में अपना एक मुकाम बनाया है और उनके काम करने के दौर को भारतीय सिनेमा में ‘अपने दम पर एक रचा गया एक युग’ माना जाता है, ने अब अपने निर्देशन में बनी ‘मेरी वोहटी दा विआह’ के साथ पंजाबी फिल्म इंडस्ट्री में प्रवेश किया है। उन्होंने बॉलीवुड में कई सितारों को पेश करते हुए काफी कम समय में 50 फिल्में बनाकर एक रिकॉर्ड बनाया है। अब वे अपनी आने वाली फिल्म ‘मेरी वोहटी दा विआह’ के साथ पंजाबी में अपनी शुरुआत कर रहे हैं।

‘मेरी वोहटी दा विआह’ के कलाकारों में जाने-माने कॉमेडियन गुरप्रीत घुग्घी (अभिनेता), पुखराज भल्ला (अभिनेता), जसविंदर भल्ला (अभिनेता), बीएन शर्मा (अभिनेता), करमजीत अनमोल (अभिनेता), हर्बी संघा (अभिनेता), राणा जंग बहादुर (अभिनेता), गेहना (अभिनेत्री), सारा मलिक (अभिनेत्री) के साथ गुरमीत सिंह (संगीत निर्देशक), रशपाल पाली (संवाद लेखक) शामिल हैं।

के.सी. बोकाडिया एक जाने माने भारतीय फिल्म निर्माता हैं। उन्होंने प्यार झुकता नहीं, तेरी मेहरबानियां, नसीब अपना अपना, हम तुम्हारे हैं सनम और मैं तेरा दुश्मन जैसी सफल फिल्मों का निर्माण किया है। उन्होंने फूल बन अंगारे, पुलिस और मुजरिम, इंसानियत के देवता, आज का अर्जुन, कुदरत का कानून जैसी सफल फिल्मों का निर्देशन भी किया है।

चंडीगढ़ में पत्रकारों से बातचीत करते हुए के.सी. बोकाडिया ने कहा कि उन्होंने अमिताभ बच्चन, रजनीकांत, अक्षय कुमार, अजय देवगन, सनी देओल, शाहरुख खान, सलमान खान जैसे 100 से अधिक सितारों के साथ काम किया। उन्होंने प्रियंका चोपड़ा को एक हीरोइन के तौर पर पेश किया। मीडिया उनकी सभी उपलब्धियों के पीछे मुख्य कारण है। “मेरी वोहटी दा विआह” उनकी पहली पंजाबी फिल्म होगी और उन्हें यकीन है कि यह पंजाबी दर्शकों को जरूर पसंद आएगी। जाने-माने अभिनेता पुखराज भल्ला और जसविंदर भल्ला और सारा मलिक इस फिल्म में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभा रहे हैं।

राजस्थान के एक छोटे से शहर से निकलकर, बोकाड़िया ने बॉलीवुड में अपने सफर को याद किया। उन्होंने बताया कि ‘एक पंरापरागत हिंदू परिवार से आते हुए, वो बंबई पहुंचे और 1972 में संजीव कुमार के साथ रिवाज फिल्म को बनाना शुरू किया। यह उनके लिए अविस्मरणीय अनुभव था। 1985 में आयी प्यार झुकता नहीं एक सिल्वर जुबली फिल्म बनी और बाद में इसे सभी भाषाओं में रिलीज किया गया। उसी वर्ष, उन्होंने अपने पिता के नाम बीएम बोकाडिया पर बीएमबी प्रोडक्शन को लॉन्च किया और तेेरी मेहरबानियां को बनाया जो कि एक ब्लॉक बस्टर हिट फिल्म साबित हुई। यह फिल्म लगभग सभी भाषाओं में बनाई गई थी और उनमें एक बड़ी हिट बन गई थी। अमिताभ बच्चन के साथ उनके डायरेक्शन में बनी आज का अर्जुन भी काफी हिट रही है।’
