Nukkad Natak organises on World Population Day

Chandigarh 12th May:- Maharishi Dayanand Public School, Daria, Chandigarh, organized a Nukkad Natak  on the occasion of World Population Day in collaboration with the Environment Department, Chandigarh. The children showed through the Nukkad Natak that if the World's population continues to grow, this growing population can create an imbalance for the environment. Students said that a small family is essential for a clean environment. They said that glaciers are melting due to the continuous human population on earth. This will threaten the existence of humans in danger. The children told that everyone is adversely affected due to continuous cutting of trees. The children said that if the population is low then the environment will remain clean. Students also stressed more planting of trees for cleaner and safe environment.
On this occasion, the school principal Dr. Vinod Kumar said that the masses are affected by the population. Being selfish due to population growth, man is cutting trees at a fast pace. Due to this ignorance, he is endangering his life and others. Control of fast growing population is necessary.

Students of Northern India Institute of Fashion Technology Present Final Degree Projects.

Chandigarh 12th May:- Students of M.Sc in Fashion Marketing & Management (FMM)  as well as Garment manufacturing Technology (GMT) of Northern India Institute of Fashion Technology, Mohali presented their final Degree Projects at Hotel MAYA PALACE, Chandigarh.
The jury evaluating the Degree projects comprised of eminent personalities Chandrakant Nirala, Head, Industrial Engineering cum Production Dept,Nahar,Ludhiana and Alisha Kapur, Head, Visual Merchandising H&M.
Master’s in Fashion Marketing and Management has been designed to fulfill the requirements of the Retail Sector and  Garment Manufacturing Technology fulfills the need of garment manufacturing industry.
The students work in conjunction with the known names of the industry for a period of three months and find out areas of concern thereby giving suggestions, implementing and helping the units to resolve the problems being faced by the factory or management in order to compete in the market.
Three months of research work is scrutinized and monitored by the industry experts  and faculty at NIIFT. Evaluation after every month results in giving refined work which provides practical solutions to industrial problems and also help in enhancing productivity.
Research work, is a part of the project, which provides a challenging platform to the students to extend and demonstrate the analytical skills necessary for decision making.
This year a total of 12 research projects from FMM department and  7 projects from GMT department were presented. The research of students in FMM department   focused on different areas like Analysis of the consumer preferences with respect to kids  brand , Translating need for touch to online fashion shopping , Importance of product photoghraphy in e commerce, Impact of Visual Merchandising Techniques on consumer behavior while in GMT department students undertook research on areas like Productivity Enhancement in sewing Line using PRO-SMV method, Case Study on line Balancing using Ranked Positional Weight Method, Manual Material Handling in Context of Ergonomics, Case Study of Understanding Pre-Production Planning and Export Oriented Purchasing Process to name a few.
NIIFT is under the administrative control of the Department of Industries and Commerce, Punjab and  is functioning under the dynamic leadership and able guidance of the Hon’ble Minister of Industries & Commerce, Government of Punjab, Sunder Sham Arora.

M.Sc in Garment Manufacturing Technology after Graduation
M.Sc in Fashion Marketing and Management after Graduation
B.Sc in Fashion Design after 10+2
B.Sc in Textile Design after 10+2
B.Sc in Fashion Design (Knits) after 10+2
Admissions to the Degree Programs are based on clearing the entrance test which is scheduled for 3/6/2018. This year the last date of submission of applications is 29/05/2018. Students of GMT and FMM worked with the most reputed export and Retail houses like
Shahi Exports, Kapsons, Limeroad, Vero Moda, Radhnik Exports, Woodland to name a few.
D.P.S. Kharbanda, IAS, Director General ,NIIFT addressed the press and briefed about the career opportunities for the students on the completion of Master’s Degree and wished them good luck.
K.S. Brar, Director, NIIFT said that the presentations made by the students gave a deep analysis of the market conditions and productive competitiveness.
Inderjit Singh, Registrar, NIIFT said that the projects presented by the students are the need based industry projects. The M.Sc programs at NIIFT are the support systems for garment industry wherein the students under the direct supervision of industry and their faculty members are doing research projects.
The Awards were given by the Director, Registrar and Eminent Jury Members. The Award categories for this year were as follows-
