Jagdish Khushdil's Book 'My Experiment With RERA' Unveiled

By Tricitynews
Chandigarh, 06th Mar, 2020:- To promote the real estate sector by demystifying real estate laws and to make people aware about Real Estate Regulatory Authority(RERA) and its functioning - a book titled “My Experiment With Rera” by S. Jagdish Singh Khushdil, member of (RERA) Punjab, was  unveiled here at Chandigarh. The event was organized by Confederation of Real Estate Developers' Association of India (CREDAI), and also saw a discussion on RERA & a very important topic-'Realty Roadmap 2020'. Those who participated in the book launch and discussions included the author Jagdish S Khushdil, Jagjit Singh Majha, President, CREDAI, Punjab, Harish Gupta, Vice President, CREDAI, Punjab, Arun Jindal, General Secretary, CREDAI, Punjab, Umang Jindal, Joint Secretary, CREDAI, Punjab and Tarninder Singh, President, New Chandigarh, CREDAI.
The idea behind the event was to facilitate the growth and promotion of a healthy, transparent, efficient and competitive real estate sector. RERA is the authority which is entrusted to enforce Real Estate (Regulation & Development Act 2016).
The author, S. Jagdish Khushdil has a vast 35 years of experience as a legal luminary in diverse capacities. He is a Former District & Sessions Judge, Former Adjudicating Officer, RERA and also Former President, District Consumer Forums.
While addressing the gathering, Khushdil said, “The main reason behind writing this book is to make people more aware about the laws connected with the real estate sector. I believe that a large segment of people are still not aware about these and the era which has been ushered in after formation of RERA."
He added, “As it’s a difficult and dry subject, so very few people know about it. To make the subject interesting, I have simplified details about RERA and associated acts in my book. I have also mentioned Consumer Act, local laws like PAPRA, Town & Country Act in a simplified way, which is easy to comprehend for even the layman.”
During the occasion, Jagjit Singh Majha, President of CREDAI, Punjab congratulated Khushdil for his book and said that we believe that real estate sector will be promoted through the book. Through this unique literary initiative people will become more aware of laws and RERA which in turn will bring greater transparency in the real estate business. The net result will be that consumer confidence in the system will get a boost. The higher awareness among key stake holders will bring in accountability.
Some interesting information nuggets which are lesser known to people in general are part of the book. The author has elaborated in the book that promoters can also file a complaint with RERA against a consumer if the latter indulged in unfair and illegal practice and not just vice versa which is the established belief.
The book will do yeoman's service in bringing RERA and its objectives closer to all stakeholders. It is also clarified in the book that police has no power to take cognizance of offences in real estate sector and even if a consumer wants to approach a civil court there is written permission from RERA which is required. So now RERA has become the sole body that adjudicates and resolves conflict in the sector.
The book also explains how RERA will gradually sound the death knell for unauthorized colonies which have been erected in violation of the law.
Some experts spoke about how CREDAI which has 20,000 real estate developers as its members spread across 21 states has been instrumental in formation of RERA. Experts like S. Jagjit Majha, President, CREDAI dwelled on the importance of the real estate sector to India's economy. Majha said that the real estate industry provides employment to over 40 million people and work to 269 different industries. What's more, real estate accounts for 8 per cent of the country's GDP which is slated to touch 13 per cent by 2025. These figures have been revealed by National Productivity Council. RERA is a boon for this industry as it will set the bar for quality and even make the industry completely organized.
The book is a ready-reckoner for all stake holders in the real estate industry be they real estate developers, agents, consultants and end users or consumers. The book is available in paper-back at Shriram Law House, Sec 17, Chandigarh and can also be ordered on Amazon.

Taiwan Set to Share Knowledge to Boost Cyber Defense

By Tricitynews
Chandigarh, 06th Mar, 2020:- Even as the world is reeling under the effects of the novel corona virus (COVID-19), the cyber ecosystem across the globe too is facing an upheaval. Endless new types of computer viruses and attacks are leading to significant losses in the world economy and business operations overall.
Countries like Taiwan are stepping up their efforts to bolster general cyber security and aid other countries against potentially crippling cyber-attacks. The growing use of internet technology is a major reason for cyber-attacks to steal potentially valuable data such as company secrets and personal data. As per Crowd Strike's 2018 global survey that investigated 1,300 companies, 66% of firms said they experienced attacks with an average financial loss of over USD$1.1 million. In recent times, therefore, cyber security in IoT has become one of the key factors for stable business operations. Also, cyber defense has acquired added importance because this the time when IoT devices worldwide are expected to exceed USD$45.4 billion by 2023. While 50% of these are home automation and security devices, there are also internet of vehicles, smart manufacturing, asset tracking, IoT in fuel gauges, IoT in water and electricity meters, and IoT in consumer electronics among others.
Taiwan is now at the frontline to co-operate with countries like India to deal with the obtrusive menace that is affecting businesses worldwide. Taiwan External Trade Development Council will be planning and participating in key international exhibitions to showcase its information and communication products internationally. In India too, Taiwan Excellence Pavilions will be set up at the Convergence ICT Expo to be held at New Delhi’s Pragati Maidan in July. Taiwan’s leading cyber security brands like ZYXEL, VIVOTEK and Edgecore who are the winners of this year’s Taiwan Excellence Award will be a part of the event.
Mark Wu, Executive Director of TAITRA’s Strategic Marketing Department said that at a time when IoT devices are growing worldwide, cyber defense is assuming increasing importance. With home automation, internet of vehicles, smart manufacturing, IoT in all fields, it is important for businesses, companies and individuals to be aware of the need for protection against cyber-attacks. Taiwan is offering solutions to deal with this menace.
According to statistics from the Industrial Technology Research Institute, Taiwan's cyber security output value in 2019 increased by 12.3% to NTD$49.34 billion compared with the same period in 2018. The two key factors that caused this year’s increase in output value are the drastic rise in the export of cyber security network hardware, as well as domestic demand for cyber security services. The export value for products in network security such as firewalls, UTM and network security hardware platforms, backend etc. and mobile device protection such as fingerprint identification chips, TPM modules etc., and new IoT security (gateways) is approximately NTD$24.8 billion. In addition, the output value for cyber security system services (cyber security inspection, operation management) is expected to exceed NTD$21 billion in 2021. This demonstrates that global cyber security awareness is on the rise, where demands lead to higher output value in professional services.
To name a few Taiwan’s leading cybersecurity brands are ZYXEL, VIVOTEK and Edgecore, all are this year’s winners of the Taiwan Excellence Award.

Fanta Rings in the Festival of Colors With Its Playful Holi Campaign: ‘Khelo Fanta Wali, #NoBahanaHoli’

By Tricitynews
Chandigarh, 06th Mar, 2020:- Adding a splash of fun to the colorful festival of Holi, Coca-Cola India, one of the country’s leading beverage companies has unveiled a new campaign ‘Khelo Fanta Wali #NoBahanaHoli” for its leading orange sparkling beverage – Fanta. The campaign in a playful manner reiterates the brand’s core promise of being the best companion for uninhibited playful fun this Holi.
The campaign reinforces how Fanta’s bold orangey taste helps teens to unlock their playful self, enabling them to shed their inhibitions. Teens today seem to face a lot of peer pressure and as a result go through painstaking effort to protect their curated personas, which can get in the way of maximising their enjoyment during festivals like Holi. Fanta reminds teens that its ok to let fun just be fun & that there is nothing wrong in just enjoying the moment to the fullest. In the two videos, Fanta’s brand ambassador Sara Ali Khan invites teens to shed their excuses and play their #NoBahanaHoli
Commenting on the new campaign, Shrenik Dasani, Vice President-Sparkling Category, Coca-Cola India and South West Asia, said that the bold orangey taste of Fanta has always been known to nudge teens into unlock their spontaneous playfulness. When we were teenagers, the festival of Holi was an excuse to have unabashed fun. But today amongst the Insta savvy teenagers, the need to always look perfect sometimes stops them from doing so. With #NoBahanaHoli Fanta urges teens to have unabashed fun.
Ritu Sharda, Chief Creative Officer, Ogilvy North: Holi is one truly young-at-heart festival. In fact, as far as festivals go, you can say that Holi never outgrew its teens. But many teens out there are happy to give it a miss. For them, Holi does not quite fit with the curated personas they are building on social media. Their excuses to not play Holi sometimes steal its colour. With its youthful DNA, we felt Fanta would just be the right brand to call out these excuses. And Sara Ali Khan as the brand ambassador gave us the right star power to deliver the message. The campaign ‘Khelo Fanta Wali #NoBahanaHoli’ speaks to the teens in their language and invites them to unleash Holi’s fun and frolic, accompanied by bold orangey taste of Fanta. And play Holi without any excuse.
In addition to the Digital & On Ground, the campaign will be supported by a robust Fanta #NoBahanaHoli selfie/video challenge through Radio & Digital platforms.
