Chitkara University Celebrates Fresher’s Party

Chandigarh 10th September:- Chitkara University, Himachal Pradesh today organized the Fresher's Party 2018 to give freshmen a taste of campus fun. Rockstar evening was filled up with some power-packed performances by senior batch students. The enthusiasm for the in-house freshers party and Mr./Ms. Freshers 2018 was palpable, and around 100 students registered from different schools, out of which 15 boys and 15 girls were short listed. The event was judged by RJ Manisha and RJ Harsh. This contest saw three rounds  the ramp walk, a talent round and a question and answer session, Mr Fresher 2018 was won by Sanskar Kumar and Ms. Fresher 2018 was bagged by Ritika. There were many more titles which were given, Vaibhuv bagged the title of Mr. Handsome and Ms. Charming was given to Shivani, the most confident pair in the contest was Dhruv and Sakshi who were bestowed with the titles of Mr./Ms. Confident respectively. Based on the Netflix party theme students came dressed in fancy outfits with quirky props and the award from crowd for Mr. Dapper was given to Samik Kumar and Ms. Voguish to Anubhuti Sharmi.
Heart throbbing dance numbers, melodious songs, jokes, mimicry and other cultural performances by the students made the atmosphere extremely energetic.
Freshmen dazzled the stage with mesmerizing performances in singing, dancing and acting and among them Archi and Gagan Dogra were given the best performer award. Sanskar was adjudged as the winner of Mirchi campus Rockstar and will be referred as Agent983 and agent will have the benefit of enjoying all Mirchi Events free of cost.
Dr. Varinder Singh Kanwar, Vice Chancellor, Chitkara University said that his advice to freshmen is to follow your dreams and passion, be always open to learning and most importantly focus on your ideas. Chitkara University is going to give you countless opportunities to engage and enrich and become part of diverse community of people who work together to make an impact and have fun in the present.
The evening concluded with everyone grooving to peppy beats of DJ Sunny on popular chartbusters.

Dr Neetu Lahoty Declared Winner of Mrs India Beauty Classic-2018

Chandigarh 10th September:- Dr Neetu Lahoty from Kota (Rajasthan) has been crowned Mrs India Beauty Classic 2018 Winner. She will represent India at the Mrs Globe Classic Pageant at Palm Springs USA in 2019.
The first runner up is Hemaxi Vanawala from Surat (Gujarat) followed by Dr Pragya Warthe from Akola (Maharashtra) and Angali Saxena from Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh).
These winners were declared at the recently concluded Mrs India Beauty Queen 2018 pageant held in Chandigarh from September 5-8, 2018.
Winners were chosen from various rounds like ethnic wear round, swim suit round, formal gowns round, IQ rounds etc. Jury members consisted of eminent fashion designers and models.
Proceeds collected from this event shall go to the WOWW Foundation. Women on Women Welfare (WOWW) empowers women and girls to lead a life of dignity and respect. WOWW provides them with education and vocational training to become independent and gain self confidence.
Rose Kaur Chauhan, Founder WOWW Foundation, said that our firm belief is that financial independence brings economic and social independence. For this we have been working for over a decade in Patiala district, whereby we are providing education to the girl child and vocational training to older aged women. Sewing machines have also been provided.
The MIBQ pageant provides a platform to married women to make a small difference in the world. This platform hopes to empower women and enrich opportunities for personal growth. It also inspires women of diverse backgrounds and cultures to come together nationally and internationally, support lifelong commitment to uplifting those in need and develop a sense of global responsibility. Khalsa College Holds Talent Hunt 2018

Chandigarh 10th September:- Principal Dr. Harish Kumari, the Principal of the College, honored with a citation and award for the students performing well in different competitions organized in the recently conducted Talent Hunt-2018 at Khalsa College (Amritsar) of Technology and Business Studies, Phase 3A.
Various competitions conducted during the talent hunt of students were: Rangoli, Poster Making, Slogan Writing, Collegiate Macking, Sola Dance, Solo Traditional Folk Dance, Bhangra-Gidda, Mimicry, Clay Modeling, Cartoon Making, Speech Competition, Skits and many other competitions. Principal Dr. Harish Kumari honored students standing first, second and third in these competitions.
On this occasion, Principal Dr. Harish Kumari said that the talent hunt enhances the personality of the students, which strengthens the curiosity of something new and different, and they continue to achieve success in every field in their lives in the future. She said that the lecturers who have encouraged the students to participate in the talent hunt deserve accolades and such activities will be organized in the college in the near future as well.

Ankur School organizes Marathon

Chandigarh 10th September:- Marathon was organized at Ankur School, Chandigarh, in which students from class 7th to 11th took part. Teachers also participated in the marathon.
The School Principal Dr. Parminder Duggal flagged off the marathon. It reached the school gate after crossing the student center, and the administration block of Punjab University.
On this occasion, the school's Principal Dr. Parminder Duggal said that the healthy body creates skillful and intelligent mind. She said that the school organises such activities from time to time for the benefit of students.

Ashok Leyland Inaugurates its Cutting Edge Electric Vehicle Facility in Ennore on its 70th Anniversary

Chandigarh 10th September:- Ashok Leyland, flagship of the Hinduja Group, today, on its 70th Anniversary, inaugurated its cutting edge electric vehicle (EV) facility in its Ennore plant. It is India’s first integrated facility for design, prototyping, testing, process prototyping and solutions design. The in-house facilities include engineering, prototyping and testing for Motors, Battery Modules and Packs and a Power Electronics Lab. Keeping in mind the rapidly evolving and changing market and technology, it has been conceived as an in-house start-up facility in order to stay flexible and fast.
Sharing his views, Vinod K. Dasari, Managing Director-Ashok Leyland, said that in our 70th year, we are laying the foundation for our future. The EV Centre in Ennore will give us the edge throughout the evolution of eMobility. He added that currently, we are the only OEM globally to offer different Energy Management strategies and an architecture which is modular. Our plan is to start working on new product platforms in EVs such as eLCV, Low Floor City Buses, Last Mile Connectivity and Power Solutions products. We have also launched a host of new Business Models including eMaaS (eMobility as a Service) and eMSol (eMobility as a Solution) which ensures that we are closer to our end customers and capture more value. The Government’s eMobility vision is an opportunity for the country to save Forex and to reduce Oil dependence. For the industry and us, it is an opportunity to reduce total costs of ownership and, more importantly, be at the very cutting edge of technology for the first time. This is truly in line with our philosophy of Aapki Jeet. Hamari Jeet.

We are committed to exploit new opportunities in terms of efficiency, energy, geometry and business models which Electric Drive Trains offers. At present, we have a capacity to take care of about 5000-10000 vehicles per annum, with different battery and charging options. 'Mrs Punjaban' Season-8 Poster Released: Chandigarh Will be Witnessing Auditions of 'Mrs Punjaban' Season-8 on October 6

Chandigarh 10th September:- Punjab region's prestigious Beauty pageant for married women 'Agam Group Mrs Punjaban - Season 8' were announced at a press meet held at Chandigarh Press Club. The press conference  saw participation of Mrs. Rajani Saini, Director of the show, Mrs SK Saanjh, Producer of the pageant, Mrs Gurleen Puri Dhaliwal, Season 7 winner, Mrs Jaspreet Kaur Dhillon, Season 5 winner and Mrs. Lovleen Kaur. The pageant was formally unveiled by launch of Mrs Punjaban's Season 8's poster.
It was informed that the event is being presented by CT University in collaboration with Folk Studios and is being organized by AR Saini Glamour World.
On the occasion of the poster release ceremony of Season 8 the producer of the show, Mrs S.K. Saanjh said that our aim of doing this show is to promote Punjabi culture and provide a platform for married women to showcase their talent.
The show's director and organizer, Mrs. Rajni Saini said that the auditions of the show will be in different cities of Punjab & also in Chandigarh. Amritsar will be on 29th September, Jalandhar on 30th September, Chandigarh on 6th October, Ludhiana on October 7, Bathinda on October 13 And Moga on October 14.
Mrs. Gurleen Puri Dhaliwal, Season 7, winner, said that 25 contestants will be selected for the finals of the event, for which there will be three rounds. The first round will be of ramp, the second  will be of talent and the third round will be of Question and Answer.
Jaspreet Kaur Dhillon, Season 5 winner, said that there is a lot of enthusiasm among women for this show because they get an opportunity to show their talent even after getting married. There is no age limit in this show.
The winners of this show will also be given a Family Tour Package of a Five Star Hotel in Mussoorie for two nights and three days, besides the chance in Punjabi films.

Chandigarh 10th September:- Margsakha, regions leading consultancy house and it's team Raman Lamba, Raman Johar, Neha Amit Singla, Barkha duggal Verma, A Million Dollar affair with India's biggest saloon chain Strands along committed aid to support Kerala flood victims, are hosting a two day pre Karwa Chauth Fundraiser cum bash titled as ‘Strands Orange Moon’. To make the fundraiser a success, the first event will have Live performances and a cocktail dinner on 26th October, 2018 at J W Marriott, Chandigarh at 7pm, and the second day event shall have Karwa fun masti and Punjabi movie starcast to engage with on 28th October, 2018 at Taj Hotel Chandigarh at 11 am. 
For the fundraiser, a dedicated ‘Strands Orange Moon’ invitation pass was launched today at Hotel Hyatt, Chandigarh  by leading Bollywood Singer of Dil Chori Sada Ho Gaya fame, Simar Kaur;  Alfas, Punjabi movie Actor & Singer; Jas K Shan, Director of Dance Dacha Pvt. Ltd and Naunihal Singh, CEO of Strands Salons.
The fundraiser features live performances by famous singer Simar Kaur, and popular Punjabi singer, Alfas and Jas K. Shan and a cocktail dinner on day one and on day two the event there will be a meet and greet of Punjabi Movie Star Cast, and participants can enjoy Karwa festival activities and stand up comedy. There will be live Katha for Karwa Chauth by Pandit Ji to conclude the event.
