Pandit Rama Krishna Finds an Interesting Way to Make Men Respect the Women in Vijayanagar

Sony SAB’s Tenali Rama is set to take its viewers on an enlightening journey with Pandit Rama Krishna (Krishna Bharadwaj) crafting one of his wittiest plans to teach a valuable lesson to all the men of Vijaynagar.
Pandit Rama Krishna after witnessing that the women in Vijanagar are not being respected and given equal rights, masterminds a plan where he takes women in confidence and starts hiding them in a cave. Panic erupts shortly amongst all the men in Vijayanagar as their wives, daughter, sisters and mothers start disappearing and they are left with all the responsibilities which were taken care by the women along with the concern of not knowing the whereabouts of their loved ones.
All the men start to suffer and become miserable because they are now forced to fend for themselves as they prepare their own meals, wash their own clothes and even the priests are anxious as even the Goddess idols go missing from the temples.
Krishna Bharadwaj, essaying the role of Pandit Rama Krishna said that this is one of the wittiest tricks planned and executed by Pandit Rama Krishna to make men respect and appreciate the work done by women. He really enjoyed this storyline as it vividly depicts how important is the role of women in everyone’s life and they deserve to be treated with respect and they should have equal rights. Nakaabposh Comes to the Rescue in Sony SAB’s Baalveer Returns

Chandigarh 05th March:- Sony SAB’s fantasy show Baalveer Returns has kept its audiences glued to the screens as it continues to raise the mystery quotient. With Baalveer (Dev Joshi) losing his powers, a new hero- Nakaabposh is here to save the world.
While Timnasa (Pavitra Punia) tries to take advantage of Baalveer’s loss of powers, all her attempts are destroyed by the mysterious Nakaabposh. This leaves Timnasa and the others wondering if Nakaabposh is Baalveer himself, who is currently living in Bharat Nagar as Debu. In order to find out who Nakaabposh is, Timnasa holds Debu and Vivaan (Vansh Sayani) captive, just when Nakaabposh arrives leaving everyone in shock. Vivaan and Debu are rescued but now the real question is -who is Nakaabposh?
Timnasa is determined in her efforts to know the truth about Nakaabposh while she is also reminded of the invisible power on Earth that is capable of killing her.
Pavitra Punia, playing the role of Timnasa said that Timnasa doubted Baalveer to be Nakaabposh but she was left disappointed. While she now wants to find out who actually is Nakaabposh, she is also fighting for her life as Sarvakaal has informed her of a power on Earth that can kill her. It will be interesting for the viewers to see what will Timnasa’s next move be and will she be defeated again.

An Interactive Session Commemorating International Womens’ Day Held at GGSCW-26

Chandigarh 05th March:- Gender Champions' Club of the College organized an Interactive Session commemorating International Womens’ Day on March 05, 2020. The theme of this session was “From Violence to Voice”. With the objective of creating awareness among students about the tragic realities of violence against women, the session started with the screening of two short films ‘Devi’ and ‘Buddh’ followed by an interaction lead by Dr Mani Pal Kaur, Nodal Officer of the Club. These short films highlighted the plight of women facing different forms of violence in domestic as well as public arena and reflected its persistence in society till date and resistance from women’s side. Students could relate themselves with the issue and interacted largely in this session. On the concluding note, they were advised to be conscious of their inner strength, supported by the law of the land, to celebrate sisterhood.
Dr. Jatinder Kaur, Principal, appreciated the active participation of the students and the faculty for highlighting this serious issue in an interesting manner.

YONO SBI Reaches Milestone of 20 Million Registered Users

Chandigarh 05th March:- State Bank of India’s (SBI’s) path breaking comprehensive digital service platform - YONO (‘You Only Need One’) has now touched the landmark of 20 million registered users. Since its inception in November 2017, YONO has been gaining immense popularity among customers as the platform provides them an all-in-one solution for their banking, shopping, lifestyle and investment needs. In a little over two years, YONO SBI has partnered with more than 100 e-Commerce players across 20 plus categories. SBI through YONO has come up with various initiatives catering to all categories of customers that include YONO Krishi, YONO Global, YONO Cash, YONO Shopping Festival and the likes.
So far SBI has opened over 6.8 million SB accounts on YONO with customers having an option to open Digital Savings Account 24x7 with just 1-time branch visit for KYC. Through YONO SBI, the Bank is opening 20000 accounts every day. The YONO Cash has facilitated more than 5 million safe and secure cards-less ATM transactions so far from 250000 touch-points across ATMS and merchant outlets. Bank also issued over 1 lakh SBI credit cards via YONO in the last two years.
Since its launch, SBI has disbursed 8.70 lac Pre-approved personal loans amounting to Rs. 11530.70 cr on YONO and disburses around 4,000 loans per day. Also 3.4 lakh YONO Krishi Agri Gold Loans have been extended so far to the farmer customers.
On an average, SBI disburses almost 10,000 YONO Krishi Agri Gold Loans every day. YONO Krishi is also providing Mandi as an Agri-Input marketplace and Mitra as a knowledge hub, which covers farm advisory services, mandi prices for different commodities and weather updates. YONO SBI also encourages its users to impart investment habits along with taking care of their shopping and lifestyle needs. In a matter of 27 months YONO SBI witnessed around 4 lakh life insurance policies and 67,511 mutual funds being sold to customers.

13th Edition of Mahindra BAJA SAEINDIA 2020: Leg 2 Kicks off at Chitkara University-Chandigarh

Chandigarh 05th March:- SAEINDIA, a professional Society of Automotive Engineers, in association with Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, today announced the commencement of the second leg its 13th edition of the much-awaited BAJA SAEINDIA series. With Mahindra as the title sponsor and other industry sponsors, the finale of the event is being held at Chitkara University, Chandigarh between 6th and 8th March, 2020.
The leg 2 of the 13th edition of Mahindra BAJA SAEINDIA 2020 has received an overwhelming response with representation from all zones- Western, Northern, Eastern and Southern zones in India. 486 entries were received from various SAEINDIA Collegiate clubs across India, out of which 200 teams were shortlisted in the Virtual round at Chitkara University in July 2019 for conventional m-BAJA. Further 53 teams were shortlisted for e-BAJA. Finally, 80 Teams of m-BAJA are participating in the Chandigarh event.
A remarkable feature unique to BAJA SAEINDIA is the adoption of a new theme every year. This year, the theme for BAJA 2020 is 'Breaking Conventions’ that celebrates BAJA, which, is all about challenging conventions, say it with altogether a different terrain.
Dr. Bala Bharadvaj, President, SAEINDIA, and MD, Boeing India, looked at BAJA as the flagship event of SAEINDIA and said that the BAJA provides a platform for the overall development of an engineering student. This competition enables our budding engineers to grapple with real-life applications and improve their skills related to design, analysis & problem solving besides enhancing their interpersonal skills and self-confidence.

Every participating team is a talented pool of candidates who have a passion for working in the automotive sector. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Madhu Chitkara, Vice-Chancellor, Chitkara University, Punjab said that during our 5 years of association with BAJA SAE INDIA, we have seen the enthusiasm of students for BAJA SAE event. This event is shaping and polishing the necessary skills of students which are needed in the future automotive industry of this fast-changing world. Aligning with University`s mission for promoting research, innovation, entrepreneurship and creating skilful society, we are elated to extend our support to BAJA SAE event.   
The qualifying teams were selected post a thorough analysis and comparison of their written test, CAD Designs, CAE analysis and the designs of Roll Cage, Suspension, Steering and Brakes. The entries presented at the virtual BAJA were virtual mock-ups, that are now being created with exact specifications by the participants. The teams in the final round will showcase their skill, understanding and passion for automobiles while having manufactured their own buggy race car.
BAJA SAEINDIA tasks the students to conceptualize design, build, test & validate a single-seater four-wheeled All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) to take part in a series of events spread across a course of three days. The event includes Technical Inspection, Static Evaluation such as Design, Cost & Sales Presentation, and Dynamic Events such as Acceleration, Sledge Pull, Maneuverability, Suspension & Traction followed by an Endurance Event of 4 hours, which will be held on 8th March 2020. This will be followed by the HR meet on 9th March 2020.
The leg 1 of the 13th edition of the BAJA SAEINDIA 2020 was held at Pithampur, Indore from 22nd to 26th January 2020, where 120 mBAJA and 53 eBAJAparticipated for the finale.Total 86 teams (76 teams for mBAJA and 10 for eBAJA) made it to the Endurance round at Pithampur. Team E-Ziba Racers from Shri Vishnu Engineering College for Women, Andhra Pradeshwas declared the ‘Best eBAJA Team’and DY Patil College of Engineering, Akurdi, Pune was declared the ‘Best mBAJA Team’in the leg 1 of the 13th edition of BAJA SAEINDIA 2020 at Pithampur. The winners for Chandigarh event would be declared during the Valedictory Session on 8th March 2020, the International Women’s Day.

Free Health Check-Up Camp Organized at WWICS Global Law Offices’

Continuing this tradition, in coordination with Employees' State Insurance Corporation, a FREE health check up camp was organized at organization’s Mohali premises on March 5, 2020, wherein about 100 employees and their families were medically examined.
Inaugurating the Health Camp, Lt Col (Retd) BS Sandhu, Chairman and Managing Director, WWICS Group, thanked the team of doctors & Para- medics’ staff and emphasized on regular check-up and counseling during their follow up examination and also stressed upon the importance of maintaining a healthy life style.
The camp included free medical consultation, cardiology screening, dental checkup, orthopedic consultation and physiotherapy and nutrition advice. The assessment included ECG monitoring, blood sugar measurement, BP measurement and oxygen saturation.
Keeping up with its commitment to help people live better lives, WWICS takes part in various social activities such as blood donation camps and tree plantation drives. The above health check-up camp is one of the many social events organized by the WWICS Group throughout the year.

Veteran Journalist Kamaljit Banwait Releases His Book "Bebe, tu bhuldi ni"

Chandigarh 05th March:- Veteran journalist Kamaljit Singh Banwait released his latest book, "Bebe, tu bhuldi ni" at the Punjab Kala Bhawan, sector 16, Chandigarh, here today. A collection of short stories in Punjabi, the book was released by Punjab cabinet minister Brahm Mohindra. Director, Language department, Punjab, Karambit Kaur was the special guest at the event.
Other personalities present at the event were IAS officer SR Ladhar, Vice chairman of Punjab School Education Board, Baldev Sachdeva and Principal Tarsem Bahiya.Brahm Mohindra congratulated Banwait for serving his mother tongue. He added that while other Punjabi authors have to pay the publisher for getting their books published, K S Banwait is being given royalties for his, which is awe-inspiring.
The current book explores the human psyche in terms of personal and professional relationships on the one hand and reveals the dark side of politics and bureaucracy on the other. The title of the book is inspired by the author's mother. Kamaljit Singh Banwait said that things his mother said are very apt even today and he has written about the same in context of present time.
K S Banwait has a journalistic career spanning four decades and has worked as a reporter and editor in various Punjabi media houses. He was awarded the Shiromani Patarkar Puraskar in 2011 and has written eight books till date.
