Champions' Club of the College organized an Interactive Session commemorating International Womens’ Day on March
05, 2020. The theme of this
session was “From Violence
to Voice”. With the
objective of creating awareness among students about the tragic realities of
violence against women, the session started with the screening of two short
films ‘Devi’ and ‘Buddh’ followed by an
interaction lead by Dr Mani Pal Kaur, Nodal Officer of the Club. These short
films highlighted the plight of women facing different forms of violence in
domestic as well as public arena and reflected its persistence in society till
date and resistance from women’s side. Students could relate themselves with
the issue and interacted largely in this session. On the concluding note, they
were advised to be conscious of their inner strength, supported by the law of
the land, to celebrate sisterhood.
Dr.
Jatinder Kaur, Principal, appreciated the active participation of the students
and the faculty for highlighting this serious issue in an interesting manner.
