Draw of Lots for 351 Liquor Vends for Year 2017-18 Conducted Peacefully for SAS Nagar

Chandigarh 29th March:- Draw of lots for 351 liquor vends for district SAS Nagar for the year 2017-18 conducted peacefully ensuring complete transparency at Paradise Green Palace (Landran- Kharar Road). Video-Graphy of the complete process was also carried out.
The complete process for draw of lots of liquor vends was completed under the close supervision of SDM Dera Bassi Ms. Ruhi Dugg IAS and DETC Excise & Taxation Department A.K.Dubey. Before initiation of process, the doubts of licence holders were cleared by Assistant Excise & Taxation Commissioner SAS Nagar Smt. Sinjni Tiwari and the complete process was explained in detail by Excise & Taxation Officer Randeep Singh Gill.
Sinji Tiwari said that 216 Desi Alcohols vends and 135 English liquor vends allotted for the year 2017-18 in district SAS Nagar through draw of lots. She said that for this year there are 16 liquor vends less as compared to no. of liquor vends during last year and for the district stock of 2558618 proof litre Desi liquor, 1934345 proof litre English liquor & 1855073 bulk litre beer has been allotted. She said that the allotment of liquor vends for this year includes revenue of Rs. 136.07 crore, whereas this was Rs. 114.36 crore last year.

She said that allotment of retail sale liquor vends for revenue of Rs. 72.20 crore was done for Excise circle Kharar and allotment of vends for revenue of Rs. 37.65 crore for Excise circle Dera Bassi and for Excise Circle Kurali allotment of liquor vends for revenue of Rs. 26.2 crore was done. She said that 2349 applications were received for allotment of these liquor vends which has provided a revenue collection of Rs. 17.61 crore to the Govt. and the allotment fee of 2.72 crore was also received on the spot from the wining applicants/licence holders.

SBI Card Launches ‘SBI Card Unnati’: A Unique Credit Card to Enhance Nationwide Reach of Digital Payments

Cardholders will be entitled to a host of benefits including fuel surcharge waiver across petrol pumps in India, 1 Reward point earning for every Rs 100 spent and the option to redeem reward points for attractive gifts from the exclusive Rewards Catalogue. Unnati cardholders will also receive attractive cashback on achieving certain annual milestone spends which will further add to the savings proposition and encourage consumers to migrate towards cashless payments.
Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Arundhati Bhattacharya, Chairman, State Bank of India said that SBI Card Unnati is a unique product, which will be catering to the credit card requirements of new users and especially to those without any prior credit history. Presently, lack of credit history has been a challenge in increasing credit card penetration in the country. In such a scenario, this card is likely to enhance credit card penetration and facilitate in generation of credit history for new users, which will eventually help bringing them into organized financial stream. She further said that the nation is progressing towards becoming a less cash economy for which a slew of digital initiatives have been made available to the population at large. TIA Holds its Annual Function & Certificate Distribution Ceremony

PRCI Chandigarh Chapter organizes Workshop on Grammar for Writers

Chandigarh 29th March:- A workshop on grammar for writers was organized at the School of Communication Studies at Panjab University by Chandigarh Chapter of the Public Relations Council of India (PRCI).
Amal Fabian, a British Council teacher of English and author of “Q and the Magic of Grammar” conducted the workshop.
He introduced simple techniques for understanding English language and demonstrated the ease with which the nuances of grammar can be understood.
He shared anecdotes and the insight into his latest book which is in the form of a novel and different characters in the story are in the form of alphabets with Q as the protagonist who discover the magic of grammar through a wonderland, the Grammar Dimension.
Dr Archana R. Singh complimented Amal Fabian and said that the budding journalists and communicators would take home important lessons through this workshop.
National Executive Vice President of PRCI and alumnus of the department said that writing is fundamental skill that every communicator must master in order to succeed in any profession.

Choudhary for the traffic police personnel in Security & Traffic Lines Sector-29, Chandigarh from 26th March to 29th March, 2017. Maximum Traffic Police Personnel have attended behavioral classes for improvement in dealing with general public. The programme has been very useful for Traffic Police Personnel to learn about the polite behavior with general public and self respect.

BMW Plant Chennai Assembles over 57000 Cars Since Inception.

Chennai 29th March:- The BMW Plant Chennai started operations on 29 March 2007. Since then, the BMW Group has strengthened its commitment to the Indian market and has continuously increased the number of its locally produced car models. Up to eight car models can be locally produced on two assembly lines at BMW Plant Chennai. Presently, the BMW 1 Series, the BMW 3 Series, the BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo, the BMW 5 Series, the BMW 7 Series, the BMW X1, the BMW X3 and the BMW X5 are locally produced at BMW Plant Chennai. Till date over 57000 cars have been locally assembled.

PGI Nivedita Creche Celebrates World Sparrow Day

Chandigarh 29th March:- The Department of Environment, BHIM (NGO) and Sparrow Club of Nivedita Crèche have joined hands this year to host Bird Exhibition (27th to 1st April 2017). Birds are compelling part of the human experience of the natural world. The exhibition sensitizes us to the rich bird diversity around us. Over 100 birds of the region are displayed.
Navtej Singh and Arun Bansal  from Panjab University interacted with the tiny tots and sensitized them about various types of birds such as garden birds, Migratory birds, Pet birds etc. He explained to children about identification of various birds and enlightened visitors about our rich Avian Biodiversity. 
Dr Bhavneet Bharti explained how to be a good bird watchers. She showed them various tools required for bird watching (- binoculars, field guides , cameras etc ). She said that birding is something they can do in their  own back yard, neighborhood park or  infact  anywhere. Various rules of thumb include - be quiet and listen, identify the bird and know their habitat.
As pediatrician, Dr Bhavneet  Bharti, emphasized the critical role of nature along with nurture in the overall holistic development of children. In the digitalized modern world, kids in cities are rapidly getting isolated from environment which is responsible for many psychosocial and physical problems faced by kids. Hence, exposure to nature is a key intervention for ensuring optimal well being of kids. She encouraged parents to take children for nature walks as recently  a unique  entity has been  described  in children  named as nature –deficit disorder in the current i-generation kids  . A team of photographers led by Manvarinder Singh from Nikon provided details about the Superzoom cameras and types of lenses used for bird photography.
 An inspiring cultural program highlighting various issues related to house sparrow was conducted by children.  Chief Guest for the occasion was Director of PGI Dr Jagat Ram who complimented the efforts of children and the staff. In addition function was attended by many experts Dr Ravneet Kaur from the departments of Zoology Panjab University, Dr Kawalpreet from Botany dept of SGGS College, Navtej Singh from Photography department and staff of PGI .A quiz was also organized for the children to create awareness about various common birds of Chandigarh using audio-visual tools. Children narrated various stories about birds and also shared their personal encounters with birds.
Miss Anandita shared her experience with an injured owl that was rescued by her parents near their home. Kids were told how indiscriminate use of pain killer drug named diclofenace among cattle had lead to near extinction of vultures from our environment. Role of scavenger birds like crow, vultures was also explained to the kids. How they quickly mop up the dead and decaying animals was shown to them besides the dwindling population of sparrows.
 Children sincerely appealed to all adults to spare some time from their daily rigor and vigor of professional life and ponder over declining number of house sparrows in city beautiful, Chandigarh. 
Dr Bhavneet Bharti   said that World Sparrow Day is everyone’s chance to rise to the challenge of saving them. She appealed that wherever you are, whoever you are, let’s meet for this unique cause to express our joint responsibility to care for nature.

ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਦੇ ਵੇਰਵੇ ਦਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਸਕੱਤਰ ਜਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਪ੍ਰੀਸ਼ਦ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਜਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਪ੍ਰੀਸ਼ਦ ਦਾ 2017-18 ਦਾ ਸਲਾਨਾ ਬਜਟ ਸਰਬਸੰਮਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਪਾਸ ਹੋਇਆ ਜਿਸ ਵਿਚ ਪਲਾਨ ਸਕੀਮ ਅਧੀਨ ਨੈਸ਼ਨਲ ਰੂਰਲ ਹੈਲਥ ਮਿਸ਼ਨ 13ਵੇਂ ਅਤੇ 14ਵੇਂ ਵਿੱਤੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨ ਤਹਿਤ 20 ਕਰੋੜ ਰੁਪਏ ਖਰਚ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਵਿਵਿਸਥਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ  ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਸਾਲ 2017-18 ਦੌਰਾਨ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਦੇ 06 ਲੱਖ ਰੁਪਏ ਖਰਚ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਣਗੇ। ਜਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਪ੍ਰੀਸ਼ਦ ਲਈ ਰੈਸਟ ਹਾਊਸ ਦੀ ਉਸਾਰੀ ਤੇ 01 ਕਰੋੜ ਰੁਪਏ ਖਰਚ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਵਾਨਗੀ ਵੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ।
ਉਨਾ੍ਹਂ ਅੱਗੋਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਪੰਚਾਇਤ ਸੰਮਤੀ ਖਰੜ ਲਈ ਸਾਲ 2017-18 ਦਾ ਬਜਟ 03 ਕਰੋੜ 19 ਲੱਖ 16 ਹਜ਼ਾਰ 600 ਰੁਪਏ ਪਾਸ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਚਾਇਤ ਸੰਮਤੀ ਦਾ ਖਰਚਾ 03 ਕਰੋੜ 09 ਲੱਖ 20 ਹਜ਼ਾਰ 660 ਰੁਪਏ ਦਰਸਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸੇ ਤਰਾ੍ਹਂ ਪੰਚਾਇਤ ਸੰਮਤੀ ਮਾਜਰੀ ਦੀ ਆਮਦਨ 07 ਕਰੋੜ 85 ਲੱਖ 50 ਹਜਾਰ ਰੁਪਏ ਅਤੇ ਖਰਚਾ 04 ਕਰੋੜ 50 ਲੱਖ 30 ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਰੁਪਏ ਦਰਸਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ। ਪੰਚਾਇਤੀ ਸੰਮਤੀ ਡੇਰਾਬਸੀ ਦੀ ਆਮਦਨ 02 ਕਰੋੜ 54 ਲੱਖ 98 ਹਜ਼ਾਰ 800 ਰੁਪਏ ਅਤੇ ਖਰਚਾ 02 ਕਰੋੜ 44 ਲੱਖ 30 ਹਜ਼ਾਰ 485 ਰੁਪਏ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਵਾਨਗੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਹਾਊਸ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਜੁਝਾਰ ਨਗਰ ਮੁਹਾਲੀ ਵਿਖੇ ਨਵੇਂ ਬਣੇ ਜਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਪ੍ਰੀਸ਼ਦ ਦਫਤਰ ਦੇ ਬੁਨਿਆਦੀ ਢਾਂਚੇ ਅਤੇ ਫਰਨੀਚਰ ਆਦਿ ਦੀ ਖਰੀਦ ਕਰਨ ਸਬੰਧੀ ਵੀ ਸਰਬ ਸੰਮਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਮਤਾ ਪਾਸ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ
