September:- A galaxy of stalwarts representing the
best of Indian entrepreneurship will come together in Chandigarh for the first
time on Friday to honour the winners of the North India’s first ever Startup
Summit & TechAwards, 2016 being organized by the apex industry body, The
Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India, ASSOCHAM.
The Summit is being organized in partnership with Software
Technology Parks of India, STPI, Government of Haryana and Government of Punjab.
Sharing details of the Summit, Dalip Sharma, Director,
ASSOCHAM said, “The one day summit promises to be a day of lightening
interactions between the start-ups and the 30+ speakers which includes mentors,
techgurus, motivational orators, successful entrepreneurs, angel investors,
venture capitalists et al. Dalip Sharma added that the interactions shall see a
spin of information, knowledge, and hard-headed business talk about how to give
a boost to the sunrise sector in North India.
AS Mittal, Chairman, Regional Council, ASSOCHAM, said that there
is a huge potential in the area. The entrepreneurial spirit of the region is
very well known. The whole idea of organizing the Summit is to channelize this
potential and fathom the demographic dividend to India’s advantage.
Manipal Dhariwal, Chairman, Entrepreneurship, IT-ITeS &
Start-Ups Committee, ASSOCHAM said that more than 250 startups will celebrate
achievements of their peers, and policy-makers will engage with the gathering
on what the government can do to make the region the best place to start up.
Manipal Dhariwal shared that Tthe highlights of the show will
be the live pitching session wherein the shortlisted startup shall contest to
the panel of venture capitalists and angel investors for fundraising besides
the panel discussion on fundraising and capital management.
Nitin Monga, Co-Chairman, Entrepreneurship, IT-ITeS & Start-Ups Committee, ASSOCHAM, said that the day shall begin with a Start-Up Clinic- the Mentor Connect session where the start-ups shall have a one to one interaction with the peers and lead into the session on unfolding the startup policy wherein the Startup policy of Government of India, State Governments of Punjab & Haryana and the support being provided by STPI shall be shared with the delegates.

The Start-Up Summit, 2016 has been conceptualized to develop
the entire eco-system for the growth of the Start Ups in Northern India from
informing Start Ups with their capital requirements, incubation, issues related
to intellectual property, marketing support, financial and technical help to
scale up their businesses.
