Sohana Hospital Mohali organizes Mega Free Surgical Camp

Chandigarh 24th March:- In the memory of Panth Rattan Bhai Jasbir Singh Khannewale, the Annual Gurmat Smagam held at Sri Guru Harkrishan Sahib (C) Eye Hospital Trust complex from March 24 to March 26, 2017. In a wake of this, Sohana Hospital, Mohali commenced Mega Free Surgical Camp where in thousands of patients from Punjab, Haryana, Himachal, Uttar Pradesh, Uttrakhand etc took advantage of this camp.  
The Samagam and Mega camp got inaugurated by Balbir Singh Sidhu, MLA Mohali in the presence of Bhai Davinder Singh Khalsa, Chairman, Gurmeet Singh, Secretary, Sarabjeet Singh Pinka, Trustee, along with Dr Gagandeep Singh Sachdeva, CEO, Sohana Hospital in presence of Adarsh Suri, Chief Administrator.
As Many as 2519 patients from different States of India got themselves registered for Free Surgeries in this Camp. The camp has its Informing stalls at place from where patients got their requisite information. It is pertinent to mention here that in this Camp, patient got them registered for all types of Surgeries like Heart, Cancer, Knee Replacement, Hip Replacement, General Surgery, ENT Surgeries etc. Sohana Hospital has been doing Free Surgery Camp every year at the time of Annual Gurmat Samagam.
While inaugurating the camp, MLA Balbir Singh Sidhu expressed his pleasure being present at the Gurmat Samagam. He said that serving the society is the only true way to serve Almighty. 
On the other hand Chairman Bhai Davinder Singh Khalsa along with Gurmeet Singh and Sarabjeet Singh Pinka awarded Siropa to the MLA Sidhu. CEO of Sohanae Hospital Dr Gagandeep Singh Sachdeva expressed his views and said that Sohana Hospital has become Multi-Speciality Hospital now, It is not only a Eye Hospital, many other specialist are there to serve the society. Because, society has given us so much and through this way, we are doing our bit while returning our services back for the welfare of the society.
At the occasion, various religious personalities, including jathedars of holy Takhts delivered discourse and prominent raagi jathas performed kirtan during the samagam.

राज्यपाल ने नेत्रहीन खिलाड़ियों को किया सम्मानित

Chandigarh 24th March:- :- गत जनवरी मास में नेत्रहीनों के टी-20 वल्र्डकप को जीतने वाली भारतीय टीम के दो खिलाड़ियों दीपक और रामबीर ने आज हरियाणा राजभवन में राज्यपाल प्रो0 कप्तान सिंह सोलंकी से भेंट की। दोनों खिलाड़ी हरियाणा से हैं। राज्यपाल ने उनकी उपलब्धियों की सराहना की और उनके उज्ज्वल भविष्य की कामना की। उन्होंने इन खिलाड़ियों को नेशनल एसोसिएशन फार ब्लाइंड की ओर से 51-51 हजार रूपये की राशि के चैक प्रदान कर सम्मानित किया। इस अवसर पर नेशनल एसोसिएशन फार ब्लाइंड (हरियाणा शाखा) के अध्यक्ष हेमसिंह यादव भी उपस्थित थे।


PGI is organizing CME on Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care on 24th-25th March

Chandigarh 24th March:- Advanced Cardiac center PGI is organizing a one and half day CME on pediatric cardiac critical care on 24th-25th march 2017 at ACC. The scientific content is focused on fostering, learning and collaboration for the care provided to children with critical illness and their families. Featuring a collaborative and multidisciplinary program, this is the ultimate meeting place for Physicians, Allied Health Care Professionals and Researchers. A team of critical care staff from Boston Children’s Hospital are joining the CME to discuss their protocols. Advanced Cardiac Centre at PGIMER Chandigarh is performing more than 1500 cardiac surgical cases every year. Out of these the kids comprise more than 40% of surgeries (more than 600 children) and half of them i.e. more than 250 cardiac surgeries are of less than one year kids. Advanced cardiac center cater to various congenital heart diseases starting from tiniest of babies of 1 day till 12 years. Complexities ranging  from Pacemaker insertion in a 1 day old neonate for complete heart block to a 3 day old neonate for arterial switch operation for complete transposition of great arteries to a 12 year kid with single ventricle for Fontane operation. The commonest procedure offered is intra cardiac repair for tetralogy of fallot. Results of pediatric cardiac surgeries at PGI are matching international standards. This CME under the able guidance of Dr. GD Puri (Organizing Chairperson) is being organized by Dr Banashreeas an endeavor to improving standards of pediatric cardiac care.  Children Heartlink, a non - profit organization is supporting this program. One should attend the CME to know about the techniques of critical care, get the contemporary knowledge and know about the global advances. Consultants, Fellows & Residents from Anesthesiology, Pediatrics, Critical Care, Cardiology, Cardiothoracic and vascular surgery disciplines,  ICU Nursing Professionals from Cardiothoracic and vascular surgery intensive care unit, Pediatric intensive care unit and  Neonatal intensive care unit, Perfusionists  are attending the  CME. Dr Ravi Thiagarajan from Boston Children Hospital is presenting his experience of ECMO at Boston to the delegates. Ms Anna Fisk the nursing manager from Boston Children Hospital will teach non technical skills to the ICU staff. She is also giving training on motivating the ICU staff for improving the patient outcomes.  We wish for a great time over these days at the CME.

World Tuberculosis Day:DHS Inaugurates Fourth Treatment Unit at Daddumajra

Chandigarh 24th March:- The chain of spreading TB has been broken in Chandigarh. It has been possible to control the spread of TB with planned and sustained efforts with the aim of early detection & early diagnosis, said Dr Rakesh K. Kashyap, Director Health Services, Chandigarh while inaugurating the Fourth Treatment Unit at Civil Dispensary Dadumajra on occasion of World TB Day at CD-Dadumajra today.  Patients will start getting free treatment of TB at Civil Dispensary of Dadumajra. Patients will not have to go far off to get their sputum examined and for taking medicines. He informed that in near future, Govt. of India will introduce daily medicine regimen under DOTS instead of alternative day treatment.
World Tuberculosis Day is globally celebrated on 24th March every year to commemorate the discovery of tubercle bacillus by Dr. Robert Koch. This discovery is a milestone in the history of tuberculosis. Koch’s discovery opened the new vision towards diagnosing and curing tuberculosis.
He said that due to awareness about symptoms of TB, availability of diagnosis and free treatment, there has been a considerable decline in incidences of TB in Chandigarh. Having treated more than 37,600 TB patients,  health department has been able to control the spread of TB and is working hard to eliminate the disease from the City Beautiful .With the  implementation of DOTS Plus Programme, Multi-drug resistant  TB patients have been able to get treatment of TB and lead a better lifestyle.
DHS congratulated the programme Managers for securing 1st position amongst all the UTs of India in performance for TB Control. He advised to concentrate on slum areas which have more number of TB patients and intensify the Campaign to educate the people about early diagnosis and complete treatment which is available at their door-step.
This achievement is significant which has been possible with the co-operation of various segments of Society like IMA, NGOs/NIMA Doctors, School Teachers, Social and Religious organizations.
State TB Officer, Dr. Rajiv Khaneja appreciated the efforts of Health Providers who are the pillers of the RNTCP Programme.  They help not only in reducing default rate but also motivate chest symptomatics for sputum test. He appealed to the residents of Dadumajra to make full utilization of newly inaugurated Treatment Unit.
He added that now new techniques like CBNAAT used for early detection of disease are available in Chandigarh.
An Educative play was enacted by Nursing Students of PGIMER.
Rotary Club also joined hands with RNTCP for TB eradication by providing protein supplements to MDR-TB patients.
DHS honored the best workers and gave prizes to the students for painting competition organized in schools on Tuberculosis etc.
STO Thanked the Chief Guest and people of the area, as well as health services providers.

Spruce up The Skills to Meet the Changes in Media Scenario:DIPR

Chandigarh 24th March:- Varun Roojam, DIPR Punjab in the maiden meeting with the officials of Public Relations Department in the Committee Room, GMADA, here today, said that the officials should ensure proper propagation of Government policies and decisions to the grass root level and should "Spruce up their skills" in accordance with the changing media scenario.
Without mincing words, Varun Roojam made it clear that in line with the aspirations of the Government, the officials should aim at delivering the best and should abstain from 'running around' for preferred postings. The system would run "purely on merit" and hard workers would be suitably rewarded.
DIPR directed the officials to adopt austerity measures in all the Government functions to be organized in their districts and exhorted them to adopt all the good old practices of the department which have been the strength of the directorate and weed out all the weaknesses that have over the years crept into the system.
Giving a patient hearing to the queries raised by the district level officials, he assured early rationalization of men and material in order to strengthen the infrastructure of district level offices.
Varun Roojam laid a special stress on developing an efficient feedback system and directed the DPROs to appraise the head office of any resentment towards Government policies or genuine demands of people/ specific organizations/ groups in the areas falling under their jurisdiction.
The meeting was attended by the entire team of PR officials of Punjab including Dr. Senu Duggal  and Opinder Singh Lamba ( both Additional Directors), Surinder Malik, Joint Director, KL Rattu, Harjit Singh Grewal, Dr. Ajit Kanwal Singh, Randeep Singh Ahluwalia (all Deputy Directors), DPROs from all the districts as well as IPROs and APROs from the Head Office.

ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਸਿਹਤ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਅਤੇ ਨਗਰ ਨਿਗਮ ਦੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਾਲ ਪੰਚਾਇਤ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਹਦਾਇਤਾਂ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ ਕਿ ਆਉਂਦੀਆਂ ਗਰਮੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਮੌਸਮ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੱਖ ਰੱਖਦਿਆਂ ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਕਸਰ ਮਲੇਰੀਆ, ਡੇਂਗੂ ਅਤੇ ਚਿਕਨਗੁਨੀਆ ਫੈਲਣ ਦਾ ਖਤਰਾ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਸਬੰਧੀ ਹੇਠਲੇ ਪੱਧਰ ਤੱਕ ਜਗਰੂਕ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਾਲ ਆਲੇ ਦੁਆਲੇ ਦੀ ਸਫਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਕੂਲਰਾਂ ਆਦਿ ਦਾ ਪਾਣੀ ਬਦਲਣ ਸਬੰਧੀ ਵੀ ਜਾਗਰੂਕ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਡੇਂਗੂ ਫੈਲਾਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਮੱਛਰ ਅਕਸਰ ਸਾਫ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਬਾਹਾਂ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਕਮੀਜਾਂ ਪਹਿਨਣ ਬਾਰੇ ਵੀ ਜਾਗਰੂਕ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਦਿਨ ਵੇਲੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੱਛਰ ਆਦਿ ਨਾ ਕੱਟ ਸਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਲੇਰੀਏ ਡੇਂਗੂ ਤੇ ਚਿਕਨਗੁਨੀਆ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਅ ਹੋ ਸਕੇ।  
ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਸਿਵਲ ਸਰਜਨ ਡਾ: ਜੈ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਤਿੰਨ ਰੋਜਾ ਪਲਸ ਪੋਲੀਓ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਤਹਿਤ 0 ਤੋਂ 5 ਸਾਲ ਤੱਕ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੋਲੀਓ ਰੋਕੂ ਬੁੰਦਾਂ ਪਿਲਾਈਆਂ ਜਾਣਗੀਆਂ ਜਿਸ ਲਈ 1169 ਟੀਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਗਠਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ 1034 ਟੀਮਾਂ ਘਰ ਘਰ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ 92 ਮੁਬਾਇਲ ਟੀਂਮਾਂ ਅਤੇ 43 ਟਰਾਂਜਿਟ ਟੀਮਾਂ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੋਲੀਓ ਰੋਕੂ ਬੂੰਦਾਂ ਪਿਲਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨਗੀਆਂ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ 2 ਅਪ੍ਰੈਲ ਨੂੰ 517 ਰੈਗੂਲਰ ਬੂਥਾਂ ਤੇ ਅਤੇ 17 ਟਰਾਂਜਿਟ ਬੂਥ ਸਥਾਪਿਤ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਘਰ ਘਰ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਵੀ ਪੋਲੀਓ ਰੋਕੂ ਬੂੰਦਾਂ ਪਿਲਾਈਆਂ ਜਾਣਗੀਆਂ
