July:- Representatives
from ISB, Schulich School of Business, GMAC and Jamboree gathered in a city
hotel Saturday night to share their views during a seminar on ‘pursuing an MBA
in India & Abroad’.
The seminar
was organised by Jamboree an overseas education solution provider for the
students and MBA aspirants who are looking at doing an MBA degree and other
management programs.
The event
started with a presentation on overseas education options by Pranav Gupta,
director Jamboree and a founder trustee of Ashoka University and Plaksha
University as well.
In his
speech he laid special emphasis on how the Indian economy was poised to grow
and the tremendous opportunities which would be available to professionals who
had done their MBA combining it with technology. Further he also emphasised on
the development of skills such as leadership, writing and speaking.
Kirthi
Srivastav from the Schulich School of Business a leading business school from
the University of York in Canada spoke about the strong pedigree of the
business school and the interesting combination and flexibility in programs
which were on offer at both their campuses in India and Canada.
Karan
Narang from the Indian School of Business talked about what the Indian School
Business looks at in the profile of a potential student. He shared information
in regard to the application deadlines, number of years of work experience
required and statistics in regard to student placement etc.
Aseem Suri,
and alumnus of Jamboree and a recipient of 740 in GMAT was specially invited to
share his journey with the students in seminar.
He said ,
whilst work experience was a mandate, it had to be of high quality. He gave
important tips to the students on how to identify the correct B-Schools to
apply to.
Sehar
Khanna the South Asia representative of GMAC provided a good insight into the
GMAT test and also provided some good tips on how to prepare for the GMAT Test
taking assistance from their official website.
