North Zone Cultural Centre organizes “Classical Voice of India”: Audition Held at Pracheen Kala Kendra

Chandigarh 22nd July:- North Zone Cultural Centre, Patiala (Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India) in collaboration with Sangeet Milon, Lucknow organized “Classical Voice of India” - Chandigarh Audition at Pracheen Kala Kendra, Chandigarh on July 21, 2019.
Prof. Saubhagya Vardhan, Director, North Zone Cultural Centre informed that Sangeet Milon, Bharatiya Sangeet Shodh Evam Sanrakshan Sansthan a non-profit cultural organization based in Lucknow, UP, is dedicated to the promotion of classical music amongst the young generation. Since 2013, Sangeet Milon has been holding live city auditions for its pan India Classical Voice of India Talent Hunt Show. This national classical competition has been highly acclaimed by all.It initially began as a classical vocal competition which has now expanded to competition in various forms of classical art like - vocal, tabla/pakhawaj, instruments and Kathak. There are four categories to the competition: Junior (9+ to 13+ years), Middle(14+ to 18+ years)  Senior  ( 19+ to 23+ years) and Yuva Kalakaar (24+ to 29 Years) The contestants shall be expected to give a 7 min performance of their art.Registration fees for the Junior and Middle group is Rs 300/- and the Senior and Yuva Kalakaar is Rs 500/- only. Their shall be participating certificates for all contestants and merit certificate and medals for the winning ones. Finalists shall be invited to perform at the Grand Finals to be held in Lucknow in December 2019. The title holders of “Classical Voice of India” and “Tabla Nawaz of India” shall get Rs.25,000/- cash prize. The first, second and third prizes are for Rs.10,000/-, Rs.7,000/- and Rs.5,000/-. An unique feature of Sangeet Milon–Classical Voice of India is that the cash money is divided between the Guru and his disciple as a token of respect to the Guru under whom the student has blossomed.
Sangeet Milon has been associated with North Zone Cultural Centre, Patiala (Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India) for the last two years and NZCC has been helping them substantially in organizing this competition in the northern states of India. NZCC in collaboration with Sangeet Milon holds the “Classical Voice of India” - Chandigarh Audition at Pracheen Kala Kendra, Chandigarh on July 21, 2019. The result of the competition is as under:
Prof. Saubhagya Vardhan, Director, North Zone Cultural Centre awarded the winners with merit certificates and medals in the presence of Milon Debnath, Sangeet Milon, Lucknow and other dignitaries present on the said occasion.
