Celebration Time for Sony Sab’s Dil Deke Dekho Cast

Chandigarh 10th March:-  The entire cast and crew of Sony Sab’s romantic drama Dil Deke Dekho is in jovial mood these days, the reason being that the show has successfully completed 100 episodes recently. The entire cast and crew were in high spirits and made sure that they did not miss to celebrate the occasion. The team did a small cake cutting celebration on the set.
Abhishek Bajaj who plays Rahul in the show said that he is really overwhelmed by the response of the viewers to our show. It’s because of the love of the audience we have successfully completed 100 episodes of the show. He wishes we complete more successful year ahead.
Anju Jadhav who plays Preet in the show said that he can’t express his joy in words, our hard work is turned into success and the show has successfully completed 100 glorious episodes. Though we have many milestones to reach but completion of 100 episodes is just a motivation towards this growth.


Cricket Frenzy Grips Chandigarh with VIVO IPL Trophy Tour

Chandigarh 10th March:-  Vivo a premium global smartphone brand embarked the VIVOIPL Trophy Tour journey from Chandigarh on 10th March, 2017. VIVOIPL 2017 trophy was displayed at Elante Mall, one of the most popular places in the city. This is the first time that the IPL Trophy has travelled to the city of Chandigarh. Popular television presenter and model Archana Vijayakept the visitors entertained and added to the excitement of the crowd and cricket loving fans. The trophy made a stopover at the iconic tourist spot Sukhna Lake where selfie enthusiasts got a chance to capture perfect selfies with the VIVOIPL trophy and model Archana Vijaya.
 Around 1500-2000 fans enjoyed the sight of the coveted VIVO IPL Trophy and engaged themselves in various exciting activities. 
The VIVO IPL 2017 trophy will visit across 16 cities between March 10th and March 31st. The trophy will visit New Delhi on 11th March, 2017.

Preet & Simran to Turn Into Witches in Dil Deke Dekho

Chandigarh 10th March:- In the upcoming episodes of Dil Deke Dekho, the Chopra’s and the Shashtri’s are gearing up for a new drama. The viewers will see their favorite characters Preet and Simran turning into witches.
Preet (Anju Jadhav) gets dressed in a red saree every night since a baba has asked her to do so, along with performing pooja for her husband’s well-being. Meanwhile, Simran (Preet Kaur Madan) also meets a baba who also suggests her same ritual as Preet. Simran starts following the baba and performs the same ritual every night. When the Chopra’s see Simran in the red saree they assume that a witch has possessed her.
In the meantime, Mohini (Ritu Vasisth) wakes up in the middle of the night to find a mysterious woman clad in red saree holding a diya in her hand roaming in the house, the woman is none other than Preet herself. Mohini gets frightened thinking that the lady is a witch. Suddenly there is a rumour that a witch is doing the rounds of the colony. The Shastri’s and Chopra’s both fear that Preet and Simran have turned into witches.
Commenting on the track, Anju Jadhav who plays Preet said that this track is very interesting as both the families are totally unaware about the real motives of Preet and Simran behind walking in a red saree in the middle of the night. This creates a lot of drama in both the houses which is definitely worth watching.

MCM Lifts overall Trophy at Inter-College Psycho Fest

Chandigarh 10th March:- Continuing its winning streak, the Psychology Department of MCM DAV College for Women won the Overall Trophy for the third time consecutively during the ZEITGEIST 2017- inter-college psycho fest.
It was a clean sweep for the bright MCM students who clinched top positions in almost all the events. In the debate competition, Japnoor (BA III) and Gursahiba (BA II) won the 1st and 2nd prize, respectively. Aditi (BA II) won 3rd prize in Poster making, Shristi (BA III) bagged 2nd prize in Just a Minute, Samreen (BA II) got 2nd prize in Research paper presentation and team of Shristi, Aavleen and Mamta won 3rd prize in Quiz.
MCM Principal Dr. Nisha Bhargava congratulated the winners and lauded the faculty of Psychology department for their efforts in making it possible to win the overall trophy for the third time in a row.

Two-day Public Health Symposium Concludes in PGI

Chandigarh 10th March:- The two-day 3rd Public Health Symposium at Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGI), organized by the School of Public Health, PGIMER, concluded today.
Several panellists discussed about social determinants of health. Saurabh Jain, Director, Swachh Bharat mission, said that sanitation is a major social determinant of health and Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, initiated on 2nd October 2014, is a small step towards achieving it. He added that about 515 cities, including Chandigarh, are now free of open defecation.
Ms. Inayat, Research Coordinator, PGI, shared her experiences from a rural area of Madhya Pradesh and emphasized the need to involve local communities.  
Mirai Chatterjee, Director of SEWA, Gujarat, said that behaviour change occurs when people come together, and gave an example of ‘Vikasani Maha Mandal’ while talking about the importance of water and sanitation in health.
In her talk, Dr. Atreyi Ganguly, National Professional Officer, WHO India, said that health promotion combines diversities and requires public participation and health strategies need to be built as per the regional requirements.
Dr. Papiya G Mazumdar, Associate Professor, Institute of Public Health, West Bengal, acknowledged the various environmental factors that affect people’s health, and wanted to intensify the focus on indicators of the urban health, like air pollution and the resultant increase in various chronic diseases.
Stanzin Dawa, Regional Director, Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development, Government of India, conveyed that there is no strong voice in mainstream Indian politics that talks about the social aspects related to health, such as poverty and education.
Vivek Trivedi, Social Development Officer, SJSRY, Chandigarh, presented his views on the importance of the convergence in health and the ways by which it can be achieved.
Speaking on the importance of health education in the health promotion, Dr. Anil Kumar Goswami, Associate Professor, AIIMS, Delhi, said that modern lifestyle is leading to various chronic diseases, but mobilizing people is very difficult.
Dr. G.B. Singh, State Programme Officer, NPCDCS, Punjab, emphasized on the importance of peer education in improving health of the community for chronic and non- chronic diseases and noted that until and unless we are able to carry the messages to the communities all other efforts that were taken will be useless.
Dr. Ashoo Grover, Scientist E, ICMR, New Delhi, talked about the various health promotion models and the role of ICMR in health promotion.
Dr. Pyare Lal Garg, Convener, Jan Swasthaya Abhyan, Punjab, said that people know what is good for them and their health. But, they still not practice and adapt those behaviours. Reasons behind this are important to know for efficient promotion of health.
Suresh Manjre, TISS, Mumbai, shared his work experiences on rural health and developmental projects to highlight the various aspects of the health in rural areas and challenges in promoting health among rural communities.
Speaking on capacity building related to health promotion, Dr. Madhumita Dobe, Dean, AIIHPH, Kolkata, said that getting quality staff to teach health promotion is challenging”, and also stressed the importance of having a participatory, rather than paternalistic, approach even in training on health promotion.
Dr. Veera Gupta, Associate Professor, NUEPA, Delhi, spoke the need to focus on psychological aspects of students, as mental health is indirectly related to improving their physical health.
Dr. Poonam Khattar, Professor, NIHFW, suggested, “Depending on the needs of the learner, specialised health promotion courses can be offered as a short course or using e-learning or distance learning tools,” and suggested that health promotion courses may need accreditation, and health promotion be offered in workplaces as well.
Tina Rawal, PHFI, Delhi, shared an innovative health promotion among school children in called ‘Project KIDS’ by actively engaging students to provide information on chronic non-communicable diseases, health eating, etc. and to improve their health advocacy skills, for example, against tobacco use, and facilitating students parliament on health policies.
