Strawberry Fields Class VIII Student Turns Green Warrior

By Tricitynews
Chandigarh 13th June:- Sumeir Bhatia, a student of 8th standard,studying in Strawberry Fields High School, Sec 26 here, was so moved by an article he read in a newspaper, about 500 trees which were going to be axed for building a flyover in Chandigarh, that he started his small green initiative.
Sumeir Bhatia said that he questioned himself, what is more beneficial for us, sustaining our environment or infrastructure development at the cost of it?  He feels that such development should certainly not come at the expense of environmental preservation.
Sumeir took it upon himself to contribute through a small step, towards improving green cover. He reached out to several villages of Punjab in the vicinity of Chandigarh, where rapid infrastructural development and deforestation had lead to lack of ground water. He stated that in a small initiative we organized tree plantation drives, where over 500 trees were planted to give a fillip to afforestation of those areas.
The initiative nicknamed 'The Tree Box' used 'Beej Balls' to create green areas.  He said that learnt about this unique system of beej ball afforestation during the initiative. These balls are made up of clay, compost and seeds. They don't need any extra care; one can simply throw them in an open ground. They are crafted in a way that they grow fast without any human care.
It is noteworthy that scattering beej balls is any easy way to help a struggling ecosystem. These have an advantage over scattering native plant seeds, which are often eaten up by insects, birds, and rodents or washed away by the rain.
Sumeir Bhatia added that in Beej balls, seeds are protected inside a ball. When it rains, the clay in the ball holds the water and helps the seeds to germinate. When the seeds germinate, the compost helps the seedlings grow.
It is pertinent to state here that deforestation has resulted in not only rapid climatic change but also loss of biodiversity not just in plants but in the animals and insects dependant on them too. The data collected by the World Resources Institute reveals that about 80 percent of the forest cover of the planet has already been lost due to deforestation.

By Tricitynews
Chandigarh 13th June:- The popularity of Sony Entertainment Television's show 'Mere Sai - Shraddha Aur Saburi' is increasing day by day with many viewers religiously tuning in to watch the show. The audiences love the teachings of Sai Baba and watching it come alive on screen is a visual treat. It is only because of the simplicity of the show, it has been winning hearts of its audience since the beginning. Previously in the show, Ketki Dave who felt blessed to be a part of the show, played a very important role followed by Kishori Godbole who is now playing the role of, ‘Baija Maa’ with finesse. With such notable entries, the show will once again see the entry of a very interesting Bollywood and television personality. Notable actor Vijay Kashyap who has been part of TV and Bollywood industry for decades will now will play the role of Eknath in the show.
Actor Vijay Kashyap will be seen playing a vital role in the ongoing track of the show which revolves around the famous Bollywood film ‘Baghban’ and Vijay Kashyap will be seen depicting the pivotal character in the story. Confirming the same, Vijay Kashyap said that he is playing the role of a retired man in Sony Entertainment Television’s show ‘Mere Sai - Shraddha aur Saburi’ who comes back home after working out of town and wishes to lead a peaceful family life. The show will showcase the struggles of his character to live the life of my dreams. In the show, he would be seen sharing screen space with two very talented actors Abeer Soofi and Ketki Dave. While Abeer is a very good actor and an equally good human being, He is also excited to work with Ketki who is good-natured and an excellent actor. We both have a long history of films and television shows but this is the first time he is working with her. He himself is a follower of Sai Baba in real life and could not deny when the makers gave him a chance to be a part of this iconic show.
The current track of the show is much on the lines of the film Baghban where the value of love and respect can be seen. Teachings of Sai are much apt even for the today’s generation and the show tends to teach the same values to the people of today’s times.

Recently, the cast of the show gathered to shoot the teaser and promos. Abeer Soofi’s Collection of 93 Mere Sai Costumes

By Tricitynews
Chandigarh 11th June:- Obsession for clothes is not rare. Then and now, people can be seen keeping and owning a good collection of costumes in their dearly built king-size wardrobes. But, actor Abeer Sufi goes a step ahead with this interest. Abeer’s look of Sai Baba in Sony Entertainment Television’s Mere Sai–Shraddha Aur Saburi is fixed which is, a white long kurta with a Kafni which he carries in each and every scene of the show, but it is an amazing fact that the costumes he wears day-by-day are unique in its own way.
India’s favourite show, Mere Sai, has managed to indulge the nation in Sai Bhakti and the fan following of the show is increasing with each passing day. The show’s lead actor, Abeer Soofi, has captivated the viewers’ attention by playing Sai in the best way possible and he has also received a lot of appreciation for his performance and continues to collect the love of all his well-wishers in his kitty. While viewers see Abeer in the same white long kurta and Kafni throughout the show, not many know that he has a collection of close to 93 costumes which make his similar look unique every day. Also, with summers going on, Abeer has to shoot in heat which makes it difficult for him to be in the same set of clothes for an entire day. Therefore, the production decided to have the collection of same costumes for his character, so that it is easy for him to change during shoots without getting uncomfortable with heat and sweat in the same costume and maintain the sequence.
Giving more information on the same, Abeer confirmed that with summers setting in, it was getting difficult for me to carry on with just one set of costume for an entire day. Almost all my scenes are outdoors and due to summers, I am prone to sweat which may spoil the scene. That’s the reason I have to change my costume multiple times a day for which at least 10 costumes are kept ready on the sets. Therefore, now I have a collection of 93 same costume of Sai baba’s character.
