September:- The Eco Club of Maharishi Dayanand Public School, Daria,
Chandigarh organized Essay Writing Competition on a Green Consumer Day with collaboration of the Environment Department of Chandigarh on the school premises today. This competition was divided into two categories i.e., junior and senior.

Students expressed their feelings on clean environment and
about global warming caused by cutting of trees. They
stressed to grow more trees for
balancing of environment.
They told that everyone should purchase products that are eco-friendly. Products with little or no packaging, products made from natural ingredients and products which are made without causing pollution are eco-friendly products. The green consumer should drive a
hybrid vehicle; buy products made with hemp or those made from recycled materials.
Vishal Singh, Sahil Chaudhary and Vishal bagged first, second, third and consolation prizes in junior category in senior category Surya Prakash Dwivedi, Rohit and Aarti got first, second and third position respectively.

Kumar gave away prizes to the winners. He said that the main aim of this program was
